HT5262 I encrypted my iphone backup but now the password no longer works

I encrypted my backup, however the password no longer works. I know for sure that i have the right password as i wrote it down. I also checked my Keychain and it had the same password. Is there anyway i can unlock my backup?

Problem solved by deleting Library\Application Support\MobileSync\Backup\*
Password worked fine after this

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

If you redirect Accounts to another location (not on the Boot Drive) you need to direct them back there again after a restore.
SystemPreferences > Accounts/User&Groups > ...
... Unlock the lock, then hold down Control as you click on an Account to get access to the Advanced Options pane.

When I checked the support site for Romania, you apparently don't have an Apple Care contact center. You "may" try calling the US Apple care number to verify the account and have the password reset sent to a different email address. 800-694-7466

The iTunes icon and cable means that it's gone into recovery mode - you will need to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes and you should be able to use that to reset the phone, and you can then restore/resync your content to it

Before the process was complete, I received an error message saying I had to "restore" my iPhone before it would work with iTunes. Even more importantly, and troublesome, is the fact that now my phone won't even work at all. I can't turn the iPhone on, and all the screen shows is the iTunes icon with a picture of the white power cord. Can someone advise if there is a way to update the software without restoring my iPhone, which will cause me to lose everything on the phone (much of which I have not backed up yet)? Last, is my stuff already backed up by iCloud? I believe I have sellected that option on my phone, but honestly, have never really understood what iCloud is or does. I did the canon driver update but now my printer no longer works

As part of Software Update, my Canon inject printer driver was updated to Version 3.0. The printer had worked under Maverick but after the update, it said it wasn't online. I did all the various "solutions" such as resetting the printer, so now I when I try to add the printer back, no printers are "seen" even when directly attached via USB. I downloaded and reinstalled the Lion Canon Driver but nothing works. I have a Canon MP530.
I'm on a 2011 27-inch iMac running 10.9.3.

Had a similar situation and this is what I ended up doing:
1 - go to the HD/Library/Printers folder and select the Canon folder
2 - enter Time Machine and go back in time to before you ran the Canon printer driver update.
3 - select the Canon folder and restore.
That got my Canon printer working again for me.

In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason. At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident. Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed. Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees). Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!! Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

Upgraded softeware now the phone no longer works

I upgraded my iphone to the new operqating software and now the phone will no longer work. The computer does not recognize it and all I get on the phone is a itunes symbol and a picture of a usb cord. I have tried reseting the phone and I continualy get the same thing.

Did you perhaps try to upgrade while airplane mode was on? If you did, disconnect your iPhone from your computer, then slide the emergency call switch and follow the prompt to disable airplane mode. Press the home button, connect your iPhone back to your computer and allow activation to take place.
