I started updating software it took long but at the end of the night its done
but now in whole day i keep on trying to activte my iPhone
now it says contact customerservice or try 2 mins latter

I plugged my iphone in to do an update and it was mid way through the update when the phone was accidentally disconnected. Now the phone is stuck on the screen that shows a cable and the iTunes image suggesting the phone needs to be plugged in to iTunes. I have plugged it in, powered on and off, attempted to enter DFU mode numerous times all with no success. Hold Sleep Button with Home Button toghether until it restarts Always it takes 8 to 15 seconds, after it restarts leave the sleep button and remember do not leave the home button it automaticlly switches to DFU mode.

I've done all of these, even trying a different USB port, and still, nothing. This is really confusing. Windows 8.1 said something to do with USB malfunction or something and nothing works. I need to restore my iPhone quickly and nothing has happened. My cable is not genuine Apple product. iTunes makes the noise that it makes when I connect the device, but it doesn't say 'iPhone is in recovery mode' or even say 'iPhone' in the corner. I am really fed up and would really appreciate a response.

i updated to ios 5.1.1 and added icloud services. the problem is now whenever i connect my iphone to my PC, itunes does not recognize my phone. i need it to but it just does not connect..
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that points to a hardware problem. Yu can make an appointment at the the Genius Bar of an Apple store or try:

I think what you are saying is that itunes doesn't even recognize that your iphone is plugged in - so you can't start the recovery process? I DO know that in the hours of me muddling through the internet - googling this issue - that I did see other posts of those who plugged into itunes, and it didn't recognize their iphone, but they DID have suggestions on how to deal with the problem... while I don't have "the" solution, I wanted you to know I did see an answer out there - just skimmed past it as I was searching for mine... sorry I don't remember good luck! -

Yes, I have the latest version of iTunes for Windows. And when I go into Preferences, it still lists my iPhone as a device back-up, and the date of the last back-up.
What can I do to fix this?If your iTunes is the latest version, restart your computer and reboot your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPhone restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Knowing the phone won't let this go on, Can you take up two calls at the same time? Probably not.

ITunes is not recognizing my phone
After I added a new iPod Touch to my account, my iPhone stopped working. When I push the home button at the bottom, nothing happens (black screen only). When I push and hold the button at the top, I get a picture of a usb plug and an arrow above it pointing up to the iTunes icon. When I plug it into the computer, I get the same picture on the screen. It seems as if iTunes is not recognizing my phone.
Does anyone know what I need to do?

My phone's battery died yesterday at about 5 pm and I didn't have my charger with me until about 12 hours later.
My friends said that when they called me, they couldn't leave me a voicemail or anything because it said, "The person you are trying to call has not activated their voicemail."
They said it was like my number didn't even exist. Then, when I plugged in my phone to recharge it, it made me connect it to my computer to connect to itunes and then said the phone had been reactivated.
Why did my phone de-activate, just because the battery died?

I tried activating my itunes card through online process back in Dec 16, 2013. Follow# 304731545 - junayed, nothing from him until
Jan 3- i emailed for update - "Your inquiry is very important to me, so I have requested assistance with the issue you reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."
Jan 4- " I wanted to send a quick note to see if you are still experiencing any difficulties with the iTunes Store. Resolving your issue is important to me, so please don't hesitate to reply if you need any further assistance."
THAT WASN'T MY ISSUE.... THE ITUNES CARD BEING NOT ACTIVATED NOT THE ITUNES STORE. I replied advising him again what issue is and sent him AGAIN all the attachments he needed.
Jan 6 - "Jaimy, we are sorry for the inconvenience. As per the Apple policy, we are unable to process your query any further. I would like to request you to contact the Apple store from where you have received the gift card." (I did in jan 10th)
- the same day i called explained my situation and was transfered 554529946 - chanile, she was nice seemed she was trying to help me but we got cut off. She didnt call me although she knew my number.
I called again 554616314 (didnt get his name was again nice) advised to make another claim online.
So I did 308483126- ajitesh. Submitted the receipt and picture of the card.

Jan 10 - finally decided to go to the store (45 mins away with the winter driving conditions). I asked a guy to help and i was directed to someone else. I believe his name was scott. Told him my situation. He said he cannot help because it was outside the 30 day from purchase. Adv to call because nothing he can do, he didnt even bother to look into my situation.
Jan 11 - i called, spoke to a lady, about 40 mins later i was transfered to a gentleman. All in all 53 mins later, online is the only way to go about resolving this. Even thought Junayed had already said he cannot do anything and go to the store.
I am so helpless and disappointment at the level of customer service. The effort i have to put in to getting an issue resolved.
Noone seem to know how to help me other than "online" when the "online" had asked me to go to the store, which then advised me to call, which then advised me back to go "online"

I just got the iPhone 5s the Friday it came out. So today i decided to turn it off because some of the apps are not working. Now that i turned it off, it will not let me turn my phone back on until i plug it into iTunes. But i have and now its saying that until my iPhone is restored i can not plug it into iTunes. I already have . alot of stuff such as picture and contacts that i do not want to lose. What is going on and what can i do? This is honestly the most frusterating thing about IPHONEs. I just got this phone about 2 weeks ago. I was prompted to do an update and did it... then my phone showed the image of the wire to the itunes symbol... so it's in recovery mode. I have been working on this for hours! I read tons of apple support procedures and followed them to the letter.... HT1414, TS3125, TS1538 etc.
I uninstalled my itunes, quicktime... all the apple products like the instructions said. I reloaded everything and rechecked to make sure it was good. Driver is showing up good with no problems.
I would totally be fine with restoring it to the original settings... I've only had it for 2 weeks! But itunes won't even recognize the phone so I can't even hit the restore button. This is so frustrating. I am running windows 7... and I ran all updates like the apple support instructions said. I checked updates with Norton. All good. I did all the windows & norton updates before I uninstalled and reinstalled apple products. If I could only get itunes to even recognize the phone.
The phone is not jailbroken... it was fresh from the factory... then that update!
Please help. I am without a phone.I may have fixed the issue. The errors in device manager were a driver error apparently windows didnt have appropriate drivers installed to allow itunes to recognize a device in recovery mode. I followed the paths in the guide above in more detail using this path ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 under if device not recognized while in recovery mode) to alleviate the issue update is now installing appropriately ( i hope).
I will update if everything works correctly -
