I disagree, Mr. WJ:
If Matt had updated his iPhone via the Cloud and not by USB cable to his computer, the old IOS would still be on the computer and he would be able to "restore" to it. It would depend on what his backup settings were configured.
For instance, I always backup to my computer at home. But, in the last few days I was notified that IOS 6.1 came out. So, if I wanted, I could install the update via WIFI from where I am at work. But, my old IOS would still be safe on my home computer that I can restore from if need be.
And then you basically repeated what I stated about Google Maps being a app you can download now.

If there is a backup somewhere that had her data you can restore that backup. Otherwise, all her data has been overwritten by yours.

How to solve error (-23) when updating my iPhone to iOS5?

I was about to download the iOS5 on my iPhone but it kept on saying that there was a problem when downloading and "An unknown error occured (-23)". Can anyone help me? My iTunes and Mac's software are up to date.

I had the same error (-23) but i managed to update my iphone after a few days... I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my laptop and it's work... No more error msg popping out and the updating went smoothly .

I went to the Summary page of iTunes and checked "Sync only checked songs and videos". Synced again, and no songs were playable. Unchecked my only playlist and synced again. All the songs were gone as expected. Checked my playlist again, and all the songs were there. Looked at them under the music tab, but they were all grayed out. Tried to play any of them, but could not. Tried to sync again and received the message, "The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start."
Every time I connect my iPhone 4 to iTunes, it says "iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone ____. Would you like to restore this iPhone again now?" I click "Continue Restore" (I'm tempted to click "delete backup.) It then says, "An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-54). I click OK. I'm redirected to the "Set up your iPhone screen". It's already selected to "Restore from backup of ___'s iPhone". Click continue. It restores for about 2 minutes. iTunes says my settings have been restored and wait for it to restart. And again the message that "iTunes was interrupted..." (see above). Crap.
How do i get this back to where it belongs?

I want to update my iphone 4 3G to its latest version however it isn/t working properly.
i have an old version 4.3 and want to get 5.1.1
i transfered everything to itunes that was on my iphone..
so i clicked on update my phone and it says it is backing up my phone.
it took about 5 hours to finish, and once it did, nothing happened.
i expected something to pop up saying i can now update my phone.
but everytime i click on update again, it just says backing up and takes hours!!
i just want to update my phone but it won't work! AND, my phone doesnt have the option to do it in general because it is still on version 4.3
please help, also, i use windows.
