HT5312 how to add a rescue email after you have already made an apple id?

How do you add a rescue email to your apple id if you already have a apple id made?

If you know the answers to your security questions then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you add one : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side answer the 2 questions and you can add one.
If you can't remember the answers then you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use those steps to add a rescue email address for potential future use, or you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

Is there a way to setup a rescue email after you have created your Apple account?  I did not setup the security questions or the optional rescue email.  Now I am stuck. I presume I cannot receive the reset email to set security question answers because I do not have a rescue email.

Yep... pretty much SoL until Apple's Snafu is over...

i just want to know how to add a rescue email, cause in the manage id, theres no rescue email. i just want to know how to add a rescue
email so i can restart my secret question.

You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • How do I create a rescue email after I've already created an Apple ID/Account.

I dont remember my security questions answer, and I understand the whole process of having a Rescue Email but I see that I made the mistake of not making one when I first made this account. I would like to know right now, step by step, how to make a rescue email with a already created account. I don't want a link unless it specifally says how to with an already made account, because I've been through so many threads that have been very unhelpful so far. Please help!

  • HT5312 how to send the rescue email

i cant figure out how to send the rescue email.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address - if it doesn't show then you don't have a rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security

Note that the rescue email address is not on the "Name, ID and Email Address" page -- you need to click on "Password and Security" on the left side. Even after you do that, it may or may not be available. As noted in the following it is only available if you have 3 security questions and are not using 2-step verification: Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses

  • HT1918 how to add a rescue email adress to recieve my reset security question ..i dont have one

how to add a rescue email adress to recieve my reset security question ..i dont have one

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
        1.    Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
        2.    If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
        3.    If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

  • HT4623 How do I remove the updates after you have updated them?

How do I remove the updates after you have updated them?

In iOS 7 they remain in a list. This is because now you can optionally turn on automatic app update and so you may want to be able to tell what apps have updated recently. You can just ignore the list if you don't care. Also you will only see the red number badge when there are new ones to update.
