HT5312 I don`t remember setting up security questions and if i did i don`t remember the answers (all of a sudden I am now asked to answer security questions when I have never been asked in the past???) I have no rescue email either
I have been buying itunes for about a year and a half with no trouble and within the past month everytime I tried to buy music it keeps asking me for answers to security questions that I do not know the answers to as I don't even remember doing this when i started with itunes - AND I won't have an alternate recovery email as I only have one email.
I have attempted three times now to go through apple support to no avail as i keep giving them my phone number - no one calls (cause I am home each time the date I check off) and then I get an email saying we tried to contact you but there was no answer! very strange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can only get reset info sent to a rescue email addres, which is not the same thing as an alternate email address - they are different settings/addresses on an account. If you don't have a rescue email address (and you can't add one without being able to answer 2 of your questions) then see if the instructions on this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551

If you have a rescue email address on your account then you will see a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6170
If you only have alternate/secondary email addresses on your account then you won't get the reset link, an you won't be able to add a rescue email address until you can answer your questions - you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

The reset link only shows if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support. -
