when you press 1 for support when Apple calls back I get a hang up and call doesnt proceed. I am thoroughly frustrated tonight. I need an app installed tomorrow for a kid with special needs and I am feeling very miffed!!!

You can try a few more things to rule out the iPhone as the cause of the issue.
If you have a protective case on the iPhone, try testing without it.
Make sure the iPhone is updated to the latest version of iPhone software, currently 2.2.1. You can also try restoring the iPhone to rule out issues with the software on the iPhone. This article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305744 will walk you through updating or restoring the iPhone.
If the issue persists, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or call AppleCare.

Anyone else out there having issues with Apple TV loading movies and tv shows?

Taking FOREVER to load a tv show on the cloud...like 30 minutes. When I rent a movie it says it's going to take 8 hours. My internet provider says everything is ok on my end. I'm able to stream Hulu and Netflix through my Apple TV with no lag. Just taking forever when accessing Apple content. Had this problem last night as well and finally got better around 11pm.

I'm having vey similar problems. I can't stream anything from iTunes, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Mirroring isn't working and neither is photo stream. I'm logged into my account correctly and streaming using other devices is working just fine. My network download speed is comfortably over 10 Mbps. I've restarted my ISP provided modem, both of my routers, and the AppleTV more than once. I've also reset the AppleTV but no difference.
I recently updated AppleTV to 5.1.1 and used Photo stream since then, but this is the first tie I've tried the other things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try this:
1. In Ultiboard select Tools>>Netlist Editor>>Pins, press the Delete button
2. Select all nets in the Select the Net to Delete dialog and then press the Delete button. This will clear all nets in the layout, don't worry all traces, parts are still on the design.
3. Go to Multisim and select Transfer>>Forward annotate to Ultiboard. This will add all nets that you removed back and it should fix the pin problem

Anyone had or having issues with getting nVidia NVS 450 resolution to work?

We got a new C20 with a nvidia NVS 450 card--and a ThinkVision monitor. The C20 had Windows 7 preinstalled; the out-of-the-box resolution was 640x480 and we couldn't get it to go higher than that! The ThinkVision and the video card are connected using the DisplayPort cable that came with the unit. After reinstalling the video card driver that came with the unit (on a CD that contains drivers for Windows and Linux), we could never get the resolution to go beyond 640x480. We gave up thinking it must be some quirk with Windows 7. We were going to install Linux on the C20 anyway, so we moved on doing that.
We installed Fedora 14 (64-bit) installed the nvidia video driver that was on the CD and can't get the display resolution greater than 640x480. After a few days of trial-n-error referencing various online forums, we managed to get the resolution up to 800x600, but not the expected 1900-something resolution the ThinkVision and the video card supports.
Has anyone had issues with getting the video card resolution to work? If so, were you able to resolve the problem? We thought we'd toss this here instead of calling up Lenovo support first because usually with technical issues, we get more intelligent replies than over-the-phone. Also, waiting for replies on a forum is less frustrating than being put on hold over the phone.

I was lucky to get a hold of another monitor and when I connected that, I got the full resolution. After much testing, I determined that it was a faulty monitor and it had nothing to do with the video card. I eventually got a replacement monitor for the one that wasn't giving me the full resolution.
Afterwards, I went ahead and got the latest nvidia drivers from their Web site. Everything works really well now.

Having issues with getting SQL Server Express to start services and run.

I have been working on a 2012 R2 server getting ready to move databases to new hardware. I had SQL Server Express 2008 R2 running on this server with no issues. I was handed another software package that ran SQL Express 2012 and had to for compatibility
reasons. I have had multiple versions run on Server 2012 before with no issues. This time, not so lucky. When the installer from the updated package put on SQL Express 2012 it completed with errors ( error log posted at the end of post) and
would not allow me to run software. I then tried the db that I had installed on 2008 R2 and it also gave the same error as the 2012 version. IN basic terms the required services attempted to start and shut back down again. I have received
Error 1068 about database handles and error %%945. I know this db has plenty of space and the permissions were added for the Admin account to access both db's. I then uninstalled both versions and tried again, with the same errors listed when
I tried to start the services. I am thinking that a clean install would fix the issue however I am not certain what files/folders/reg entries need to be deleted or modified. I have researched all the errors I can find, however I am very
new with SQL anything so I know I am missing something. I also do not have an "E:" drive on this server (not sure why it is going there). Input would be very welcome as I am not certain where to go from here.

Did you install the SQL Server instance successfully? If not, please help to post the summary and detail logs for analysis. By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log.

Having issues with getting the slide to advance properly after audio is done playing

Before I describe the problem I will describe what I'm trying to do.
I have a slide that plays a video. When the video is finished the user clicks a Continue button, and a short audio clip plays, and then the slide advances to the next screen. The problem comes when I'm trying to integrate closed captions. Since CC is only allowed at the slide lever I created an advanced action that is intended to display the audio text and play the audio. The caption with the audio text displays fine, but one of two things happens with the audio:
The slide advances before the audio is done playing.
I add a pause action to the advanced action and the slide does not advance at all.
Does anyone have any advice on how to control the slide so it will advance once the audio is done? Thanks in advance for your help.

The Pause action WILL pause the slide if invoked. And there is no way to set the duration of the Pause in the Advanced Action.
I would suggest you add a button to the slide that the user clicks to go to the next slide. Add the short audio clip that you want the learner to hear to the On Success caption of that button and set the button properties to Pause for Success/Failure captions. You can add the CC text for the short audio clip into the success caption so that it appears as the audio is playing. As soon as the audio clip finishes playing the success caption will disappear and the timeline will continue to the next slide.
No Advanced Actions required for this solution.

Since downloading iOS 4 I'm having issues with getting iTunes applications!

Okies, so here's my prob. I went to iTunes (I have the latest version) and I tried to download the free app, "Baby Center: My Pregnancy". It downloaded to iTunes but wouldn't let me sync it to my iPod saying, "This app couldn't be sync'd because the iPod isn't using the latest iPhone OS." So, I went and updated to the iPhone OS 4. I tried to download it again. Again, it downloaded to iTunes but this time when I sync'd it to my iPod it showed in iTunes that I had the app on the last page. When I disconnected my iPod, it wasn't there. I even searched for it and nothing came up. I tried rebooting the computer, I tried rebooting my iPod, I tried restarting iTunes. I tried re-downloading and re-syncing the app to my iPod again and again and again! Each time it showed in iTunes that I had the app, but I look on my iPod and... NO APP! I'm a little frustrated with this. Can anybody tell me what to do? I really want this app on my iPod. PLEASE HELP!!!

Found my problem!!! I had Restrictions set to limit Apps to those appropriate for ages 9+ (my kids). I reluctantly changed it to 12+ and Netflix magically appeared! Yay!
You may want to check your Restrictions in Settings.

I have a retina mbp, and I noticed that you need to wait a while for the "time remaining" on your battery charge to display correctly. For example, on my mac it starts off with ~4hrs 30mins after a full charge, but it gradually moves up to ~ 7hrs or even 8hrs 45mins. Of course, there are other things to consider, such as your brightness settings, keyboard lights, what programs your running, etc. I achieved the aforemention time remaining by having my brightness at most halfway up, keyboard lights at most up by 3 notches, and only performing simple tasks like surfing the web.

Issues with getting the slide button to work after upgrade to iOS 7.02 and 7.03

Ever since upgrading to iOS 7.02 and 7.03 having issues with getting the slide button to work to open up iPad 2. Happened last week and was able to restore it to new and get it to work again and it worked great until one week later (this morning) doing the same thing. Have tried restoring iPad to new 3 times (via itunes) and still unable to get the slide button to move so can use the iPad. IPad able to charge, able to restore, able to sync with itunes even able to recover but not able to get past first screen where you have to slide to access iPad. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Live about 300 miles from nearest Apple store.

I am beginning to wonder whether there isn't some weird problem with that Home button.
Try this: Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch = On
This will place a button on the iPad's screen.
You can move this button anywhere on the screen.
This button gives you - amongst many other things - a soft Home button.
To turn your iPad on, you can use the Sleep/wake button or move a small magnet across the bezel of the iPad where the volume controls are.
If you use the magnet, then: Settings > General > Lock / Unlock = On
Now should not need to press the Home button anymore.
If this method allows you to use your iPad without a hitch, then suspect hardware problems with the Home button.

I noticed that google was the app that was using it a lot, but after I turned the feature off for google my phone started using the “traffic”, “frequent locations” and “cell network search”. When I turn the feature off for all of those things it’s no longer a problem. So just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if anyone has a solution?

The "solution" is probably to increase your knowledge. You've done good things. Perhaps this article will educate you a bit more about location services.
Basically, they can be very useful, but can cause a lot of iPhone use. A major example is "Remind me to ... when I leave home."

I just started having this yesterday. It's only happened twice, but it's annoying. My wife texted me that she was coming home last night, and it showed up immediately on my iPod Touch but not my iPhone. I opened my iPhone and it soon updated. Worked fine after that. Then just a moment ago today my wife texted me and the same thing happened. I heard my iMac and iPod Touch receive the message but it didn't display on my phone until I opened the phone and it showed up again a little bit thereafter. I suppose I'll send Apple some feedback on this issue.
