HT5330 Receiving mail to @me and @icloud

Does anyone know if you can set mail using 10.6.8 to only receive mail addressed to the @me address and not to @icloud address?

You may be able to do this using a Rule to move all messages to @me.com to the Trash or another folder, either on your Mac or on the iCloud website - the latter is probably the best place to do it.

Is this on wifi or cellular data?
Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Have you gone into the email settings and making sure the password are still there?

I receive both My husbands emails and mine through my ipad. We both have gmail accounts.  His emails are coming down on the ipad but not mine.  I haven't received mail since Saturday. We use the email for business I desperately need it and I don't have a laptop anymore as it is broken.   In my wisdom I desired to buy an ipad instead,  what a mistake.

The iPad will support multiple Gmail accounts, but of course you have to set each one up individually.  Did you set up both accounts?  Go into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars to confirm both accounts exist.  If they do, also familiarize yourself on how to navigate between accounts to make sure you can view your Inbox.  You may also want to check your settings to make sure that you have the default account set up as you expect for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes (if you're using all those features).  That is important only when initiating something new, you have to have a default account to do such a thing so make sure the default is your account since it is your iPad (assuming that's what you want).
Alternatively, install the free Gmail app and then use only his (or your) account with that app and use the standard iOS Mail app for the other account.

  • Mail, Snow Leopard and iCloud mail server settings

If I use the iCloud suggested settings as per:
ENTERING iCLOUD MAIL SERVER SETTINGS IN SNOW LEOPARD
    as per Roger Wilmut's suggestions - http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html,
will all my other incoming and outgoing mail accounts still work as usual?
    Thanks

Whatever you enter in your settings for your iCloud mail account, they will not affect any other mail account you have set up in your mail application.

  • Receiving Mail - Using attachement and adapter attributes

    Hi all,
I'm trying to solve the following problem:
    - I receive a file via mail adapter as attachment
    - The content of the file is plain text, no csv or XML
    - For mapping, I need a) the content of the file b) metadata like sender of the mail, date/time of mail etc.
I tried to use mail package and PayloadSwapBean. Now I have the situation, that not everytime the <content>-Tag contains the content of the attachement:
-If the message text of the mail is empty, <content>-Tag contains the content of the attachment (perfect!)
-If the message text of the mail is empty, mapping throws exception. I suppose, that pure attachement (not in the mail package format) is input for mapping
If I try to use adapter-specific attributes, Mail adapter throws error (so message does not reach integration engine). I already updated the mail adapter metadata in the IR (cf. SAP note 936552), as we are on SP16. It seems as if still some tags can not be deserialised by the SOAP-Entry of the integration engine.
Has someone an idea how to solve the situation?
    Kind regards,
    Torsten

Well, the problem seems to be with the IMAP server
    (not postfix).
I simply don't have an INBOX file were my IMAP server
    seems to deliver the e-mail.
This seems to be part of our problem communicating. An IMAP server doesn't deliver email. It's what your mailreader contacts to view or deliver mail. You must be using OSX Server, I don't think there's an IMAP server for OSX.
When mail arrives at your Mac, two basic things happen. We lump them under the label postfix. The first thing is that the SMTP server accepts the mail. The second is that the local process "delivers" the mail. This can be difficult to set up, but the main thing is to put the local delivery path in the alias map file you set in /etc/postfix/main.cf. This is /etc/aliases by default.
To read mail, your mailreader can simply open the mailbox where the file was delivered. /usr/bin/mail will work fine. Fancier mailreaders like Apple Mail use protocols like POP3 and IMAP4 to retrieve mail from remote servers. But this case is different. IMAP seems like overkill since everything is local. I would try putting the alias to the directory that Mail uses. But then, you never said what your mailreader was, so I don't know.
I think we can solve this, but we need to get over some confusion first.

  • Not receiving mail to .mac and other mail issue's

    HI all
OK first up I cannot recieve any mail to my @mac.com address, when ever I try to send a test email to myself I recieve a bounced email back saying that 'Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently' I have read discussions on this matter and understand that I should be able to recieve email to this address as it is still in use for .mac users despite the iCloud change over but haven't been able to resolve this problem so far.
I also have a @me.com address which appears to recieve mail ok but would like to continue recieving mail to my @mac.com.
Secondly, I am only able to recieve mail to my @me.com address as when I try to send from this account I recieve a 'Cannot send message using the server iCloud' yet I am able to send mail from a different @me.com address that I created when iCloud was set out.
Both the @mac.com and @me.com addresses are original addresses from when thos services were first brought about but both have problems since the iCloud change over, @me.com addresses that I have created since the iCloud change over appear to work fine.
I let Lion set up all of my iCloud stuff through system preferences when it was rolled out and therefore has set up the mail preferences which are as follows :
In the address field I have both my @mac.com and @me.com seperated by a comma ([email protected], [email protected])
Incoming mail server is p02-imap-mail.me.com which I greyed out !?!
Under advanced is Port: 993, Use SSL: Checked, Authentication: Apple Token
Outgoing mail server: iCloud, however when I clicked on the edit SMTP server list iCloud SMTP is not in the list
    Thankyou !

Immediately contact Apple. Call a Genius and at least leave Apple some feedback. This should not be happening. It was indeed promised by Apple that all @mac.com addresses and aliases would remain functional if you had any of them before the switch to iCloud. They are still working for me, luckily.
Also, try changing the incoming and outgoing mail servers. Up until last week I was happily using POP with iCloud until – bam! – Apple decided to only support IMAP from then on. This change left me no option but to change to IMAP. My incoming server address is slightly different from yours. Maybe changing it to the new (?) address will solve your problem. At least it's worth a try, I'd say.
In my Mail.app Accounts preference pane, the IMAP server address is p99-imap.mail.me.com. I remember when setting up IMAP that the summary listed this same address as the incoming server. It doesn't show up in my SMTP server list either. So that should be normal behaviour, I guess.
    Good luck!

  • TS3276 PostBox and iCloud - does anyone use pop mail for postbox and icloud? i can't seem to use my MAC pop mail with postbox.

Apple policy of reseting each time you forget an Account ID or Password makes it impossible for me to keep track of my many accounts on Mail. I decided to use PostBox and it's working great except for one account.  That account is linked to icloud.  I'm not too happy with icloud, in general, but I do want to be able to track my mail on my iphone for that one account (my business account).  It used to be that I could use 2 accounts with one - using an alias.  Now, I can't do that with icloud, nor can I get it linked to PostBox.  Does anyone know what I should do? Am I asking the wrong questions?

I am now on Chapter 3 & 4 -  Since this is the ONLY message board I can get into,
& Roger, No, I never had a "mobile me account", if that's a cell phone - wouldn't own one! - IF it was from the Old Tiger mail Ap, I do believe it was discontinued, when they came out with Snow Lion, no? So that's defunct.  FYI I got my first computer in 1991 - DOS, good stuff, easy to fix. My first mac in 2006 Tiger, great stuff, loved it. Then Snowleopard, not sure when, maybe '09? it was just before Lion came out, didn't know the new one would come so soon. & in June 2012, first mac crashed, lost a year "unsaved" data.
Q # 1. I can't get into My Account - to get into support & any questions! Somehow all my data is messed up, & I've had to change passwords 3 times today every time I'm "rejected" by my account. I seem to have 3 accounts now, each with a different name Password, & Security Questions! & I've been rejected due to: "Incorrect ID name", "Incorrect Password" & because whatever - doesn't" recognize my birth date" / or "my Security question answers" that I chose - all of which I know are correct. AGUH!
    My latest problems:
    1) Can you Unzip iPhotos, uploaded from a USB or External Drive (after my SL crashed)? The dpi for these old ones is about 250 x 360 (88 KB) compared to 2448 x 3264 (2.6 MB) for recent ones.
    - Do you need a program to do this? Some say there's a "free" program, any good? Can unzip be done to many or 1 at a time? Or is there something I haven't found in iPhoto '11, 9.2.1 (Lion)?
[I now buy new Camera Memory cards & don't delete the photos anymore, since I lost so many.]
    2) Can I combine all 3 of my Apple ID info - or at least delete that 4 year old Email address in my profile? (IF I can ever get in. I wrote a "suggestion" to the Apple folks, who said my new Email was on it, & they'd send me an email - but I never got it, guess it went to the old one?

  • Receiver Mail Adapter - Body and Attachment

    Hello All,
Based on the document How to Use the Mail Adapter of the XI 3.0 J2EE Adapter Engine section 3.2.4 says that the payload of the message is sent as the body and an attachment when the Keep Attachments checkbox is configured. By default, the payload of the message is also sent as an attachment.
In testing this feature - if it is checked I get the attachment - if it is not checked I get the payload in the body of the email.  I do not get both.
I am using an xslt mapping.

  • Receiving mail with questionnaire and upload to evaluate vendor

    Hello,
I have a little problem using ROS. The auto-register is ok, the questionnaire is sent to vendor but we dont know exactly how to link the sending of the questionnaire by vendor with the upload to ROS system.
I mean, can someone send me a screen-capture of the SO50 transaction? Or tell me how you configure sapconnect or if you implement the exit CL_UWS_FORM_RUNTIME_MAIL to upload the questionnaire to ROS?
    Regards,

    Hi,
Questionnaire is sent to SRM by email attachment. Inbound Processing program in SRM side gets the attachment and store information to SRM. You should configure incoming email setup and inbound processing configuration in SO50 transaction. SO50 entry is like this.
    Internetmail [email protected] * CL_UWS_FORM_RUNTIME_MAIL 1
Create a user MAILADM in SU01 and assign email address.
    Regards,
    Masa

I upgraded my computer to OSX Yosemite yesterday, since then I have not been able to receive mails rather than my icloud account.
I am using the same mail set up which was working before.
I also check the Mail connection doctor and all the other mail boxes work fine.
I could sent mails but I do not see any incoming mails.
    Please help.

    Hello HK mac user,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
You can follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot your email accounts. You mention using Mail Connection Doctor, but not how it rated the account in question. This article will give you steps to perform depending on what Mail Connection Doctor says.

  • Mail sending issue and receiving sound intermittent

I have three mail accounts on the 3G iPhone if that matters.
The primary SMTP server I have setup for when using email at home on wi-fi. Set up the same as on the Mac to the ISP I connect to. Works fine sending and receiving on the iPhone.
Under other SMTP servers I have set to reflect the mobile provider I connect to when not on wi-fi.
The only way I can send mail using the mobile provider is to turn off the primary server.
The instructions on the screen say " If mail is unsuccessful using the primary server it will try the other SMTP servers in succession. Clearly not doing this as if it can't connect using the primary server it doesn't continue searching through other servers.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
In addition the sound on receiving mail is intermittent and generally doesn't work. If it does it only works the one and then only one of the three accounts. And then goes away again.
I was hoping that the 2.1 update may have fixed both of these.
