HT5361 I can no longer scroll with my mouse up or down through my email messages?

Never had this problem before and it only happens while I am in mail.

Leroy, this has to be the single most embarrassing thing I've ever done on a computer.
The restart worked.
In my own lame defense, I had just restarted my iMac prior to this occurring, so I figured the last thing that would fix this would be another restart.
I know you can't see it, but my head is hanging in shame!
Thank you for mentioning the restart. I'm always telling people to reboot before doing anything else, and this time, I should have done it myself.
I'm going to go hide under a rock for a while.

I can no longer scroll with the button on my touch pad. Have tried everything on Firefox help and still can't scroll....HELP please.

I have just updated to the Firefox 4 Beta and from having no problems at all with the previous version I can now no longer scroll. I have reloaded my touch pad drivers and also been onto "about:config" and altered various things suggested by 'firefox help' and still no luck. The scroll button on the touch pad does still work as I can still scroll in Thunderbird and any of the other programs that I use, just not with Firefox any longer. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Since today the scrolling started to work for me. Was there a fix auto installed? I havent updated anything that I know about.
I might have uninstall an old Java JRE, don't remember when I did it, could that have done it?

Why can I no longer scroll with the mouse when using Pages?

A few days ago, I realized that I am unable to scroll within a Pages document with the mouse. The scroll bar is not there. The scroll feature works fine, and after trying to figure this out myself with no success, I thought I'd ask here. I have Pages '09 and I'm using OS X 10.9.5.

Thanks. That's not the problem. Scrolling works in everything else except Pages. I used to be able to scroll just by using my finger up or down on the mouse. Now, I can't do that. I tried setting the scroll bars to "Always", but then I have to physically click on the scroll bar and move it up and down. Not like it's that much hassle, lol, but I got used to just scrolling with my finger on the mouse.

Elitebook 840 G1 touchpad broken - can no longer scroll with gestures anymore.

I switched on my Elitebook this morning and i noticed that the touchpad is functioning as it is normally. i can use the touchpad to move the pointer around the screen but I am no longer able to scroll up and down the screen using gestures.
Ive had a look around the forum to see if anyone else was suffering from the same problem but its mostly people with totally non functioning touchpads. The yellow light in the top corner is not on but i have double tapped it a few times to see if this would reactivate the touchpad gestures without luck. Ive also shutdown and removed the battery, then held the power button for 30 seconds before releasing, installing the battery and switching on again Still no joy.
Ive gone in to the control panel and under mouse section there is only generic controls for an external mouse, there does not seem to be any menus for the touchpad or associated controls. Im sure this is something quite simple and is just a setting that needs switching on but im at a loss to where it is.
Any help would be appreicated.

With upgrading to version 8.0.1, I can no longer scroll with my touchpad or button (Lenovo T61). These was possible prior to the upgrade. How do I fix this?

The touchpad and "little red button" still work on other programs but just not Firefox.

Try to modify the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work. 
Close and restart Firefox after changing the pref.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

I can no longer scroll on my iMac in Mavericks

For some reason completely unknown to me, I suddenly can no longer scroll, or even see scrollbars on my iMac, running Mavericks. It's been perfectly fine for months and just yesterday...poof! No scrolling.
At first I thought it was limited to Safari, but then noticed it's for all browsers and all programs on my computer.
Can anyone please help me with this? The only searches I've done show articles at least two years old.
P.S. I can "scroll" with the up-down arrow keys, but not with a mouse of any kind (wired or wireless), and the scroll bars do not appear until I use the arrow keys.

I can no longer scroll through a document in Word, can someone tell me how to fix it?

you have provided minimal information in your question. to help, we need lots!
what version of Word? -  Apple Menu > About Microsoft Word
what has changed since this began? update / upgrade software - system or App?
have you updated Yosemite to version 10.10.*1* ? -- in the Finder -  Apple Menu > About this Mac
to clarify, scrolling is normal in all other App & Finder windows?
In Word, are the scroll bars 'present' (visible)?
 if present, are all scroiling functions failing?
 mouse click
 arrows - both 'fine' and 'page' <-(my Word version has its own scroll unique button versions, separate from System)
 up, down, left, right - (last two depends on Zoom of page)
 in the blank areas of the scroll bars - 'page' or 'jump to here' as set in System Prefs *(see OS X Yosemite: General preferences )
 click, hold & drag the scroll BAR itself
does the page scroll using the arrow keys?
 when the text cursor moves past the visible portion of the document page?
 when using key combination - fn Function + 'up' or 'down' and/or fn Function + 'left' ('Home' or top of page) & 'right' ('End' or bottom of page)

Please can anyone tell me why I can no longer scroll using the edge of the touch pad.
This seems to have occurred since I had to reinstall Vista following a problem with some faulty Ram.

One reason can be a missing touchpad driver.
But if the touchpad driver has been installed, then you should check the settings of the touchpad.
In control panel -> mouse you will find the touchpad properties. It should be the last tab.
There you can check enable and disable and configure many options.

Since the latest version of itunes, my playlists are "too large" to fit on the computer screen. I can no longer scroll down because the far right side of the screen is too far over. How can I minimize the screen or be able to scroll down my list? Thx!

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

I can no longer scroll past text messages. The pictures are all still available in the details button but it sill not scroll back. Did a carrier update recently but that is the only thing that I can think might have mixed things up. there was one other poster with the same issue. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm wary about updating to Lion as this may cause any number of apps on my Macbook not to work at all or malfunction. Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

Did you check for connection problems?

I can no longer scroll through app selections in Genius on my iPad in the App Store. I see the first row and half of the second row and cannot scroll. This is a new condition. Landscape or portrait is the same.

Had this issue for awhile now. Believe it must have surfaced after last iOS update.
Quite annoying since Genius was a good way to quick browse for new app suggestions.

I have sync issue, too, but a bit different. When connecting my iPhone 4 and hitting the sync button in iTunes 11.0.5 (5), the synch process starts, gets stuck at step 5, then eventually finishes without any error message, but content (TV series / movies) are not updated on the iPhone.
I already tried to power cycle my MacBook (Intel 13" running Mac OS X Lion) and my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1.3).
Was working perfectly before upgrading iTunes. Anybody has a solution to this yet?
