HT5361 my mail icon stopped working and I cannot turn the mail off...help
When I clic on the Mail icon (postage stamp) nothing happens. So the first effort I went to shut down my computer but since I cannot quit mail it wont let me shut down. What can I do?
Force Quit
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time for about three seconds
Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select Mail if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window.
Wait.
Force Shut Down
Press the power button for 10 seconds or more.
Computer should shut down.
Restart the computer.
Finder > Application
Launch Mail from there.

i was updating my iPhone and it is stuck. It won't complete the update and I cannot turn the phone off or use it at all. How can i get it unstuck?
i'm wondering if i can use my macbook pro to override the update that is incomplete.What does this have to do with Classic operating systems? They won't run on a Macbook anyway.

My ipad shows a text box on my start up screen stating icloud backup - this ipad hasnt been backed up in 2 weeks . backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked and connected to wi fi and ok under - so press ok but cannot remove the box or back to my home screen and cannot turn off the ipad from main switch at top of pad? when i open itunes its normal and then out of nowhere it says "itunes has stopped working" and i have to click 'close program'. help?
Having the same issue here....a quick fix is to just minimize the window, and immediately maximize it. It will now fit the screen. Trouble is, after you close it, you'll have to do it again when you re-start itunes. The good news is it takes all of about 2 seconds. Apple should fix this. Should.

thanks paul, i just had a similar problem, had to hold it for 30 seconds and the apple sign has come up, my phone was vibrating for over two hours completly unresponsive, now my lap top seems to be comunicating too, oh hello, its back on again...thank you!!!!

When I start firefox, I get a Dialogue bx saying that Firefox had stopped working and Windows is checking the cause, another dialouge box says that A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is found,the problem continues, I have Google Chrome working on my Laptop.
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Press and hold down for at least 10 to 15 seconds, both the home and power/sleep buttons until the Apple logo shows up on the screen.
This will reboot the iPhone.
Its likely the iPhone crashed, and you need to reboot it. No data should be lost though. -

Have you tried opening Spotlight (Command + spacebar or click the magnifying glass icon near the right end of the menu bar) and typing "pages" into it to see if it finds Pages?
If it is found and the problem is that it isn't showing on the Dock, you can open Finder and then use the Finder "Go" menu and click Applications, locate Pages and drag it to the Dock. -

Open iTunes on your computer, look at your playlists there. Go to your "Voice Memos" playlist, delete all its contents, and then sync your iPhone to iTunes.
