HT5361 unable to get incoming emails

My MacMail is NOT working and cannot get emails... except at its own preference... 2-3 a day... vs 50
No patience...

Open Mail if it isn't running.
From the Mail menu choose Preferences.
Click Accounts.
Select your affected POP/IMAP account (Gmail Account) on the left side and verify that you have correct User Name and Password entered. (e.g. [email protected])
Then click on the drop down arrow next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and select Edit server list.
Under Account Information, in server name it should be smtp.gmail.com
Click on Advanced Tab, Use Default Ports (25, 465, 587), Tick Use Secure Socket Layer if it is not checked, keep Authentication : Password, User Name : Your Complete Email address ([email protected]) and Password : ********* and then press Ok. Close everything and then Quit Apple Mail and re-open it and try sending a Test Mail to your self and see if it works.
Check the below link for Mail setup assistant and enter your Gmail Email Address there and click Next and choose I want to verify settings on Existing Account.

Can successfully send outgoing messages.
Have completed following tasks to no avail:
1)          When click on "Take all accounts online" and entering password for gmail / looking at Mail Connection Doctor: Got Green light, Mail was able to connect to the Internet. But…
"Trying to log in to this Goggle Imap account failed. Verify username and password are correct."
I have verified username and password being correct.
2)          System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars typed in name, email address & gmail password and got this message.
"Unable to verify account name and password."
3)          Mail> preferences>account>password. Confirmed correct password, name, email address and imap "address" Then to Advanced & confirmed correct port . Restarted computer.

Found solution, Yeay!   No coincidence. Mountain Lion (osx 10.8, upgraded) is not compatible with Gmail if one has 2-step verification set up on their gmail security settings.
There are 2 options to solving problem

This will take you through the process of assigning an "application specific password" to upgraded Mail 6.0 for successful communication between Mail 6.0 Mountain Lion while keeping a 2 step verification process if you prefer.

My iPhone just stopped vibrating when getting incoming emails... Yesterday everytime i got an email, my phone would vibrate, and now, its on vibrate and it doesnt vibrate with new emails, does anyone know how to correct this?

Mine does the same thing, and it also bleeds over into the email tone as well. It works for a while and then it suddenly stops. Turning the phone off and back on fixes it for a while, but it's a pain.

Can't get incoming email

got a new mac book pro... can get email to send but not anything incoming... i have an iMac and think all my setting are the same. called my IT guy and he's not real mac literate... leaving on a trip tomorrow - would like to get my email...

Suddenly I can't get my email. My email address or password ( can't tell which) is inexplicably no longer accepted --I triple checked it for correctness. What can I do? Who is your email provider? Do you have two-step verification set up with this account? If so, you will have to read up on how to set it up on a mobile device with this feature implemented, or turn this feature off.

Unable to get User Email Using PDK API

I have to get portal user email in my jsp portlet. I have use the PDK API :
PortletRenderRequest pr = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
String Email = pr.getUser().getEmail();
But the result of Email is null and i have inserted the user email in portal user profile. Does anybody can help me on this?

What's your Portal version? In 9.0.2.6 and above you can retrieve Email information from the Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

Delete the entire Backup folder if there is anything at all in it.

I am unable to get confirmation email so I can setup an account. I emailed support but no answer

I checked spam folder etc but no luck. Now I can't use that email again to try over since it says it is already in use.

How have you been connecting these drives to your iMac? USB?
Have you connected them back to your iMac the same way they were connected before? Including making sure they have the power they need?
If all the connections are just as before, and all the drives have the power they need, have you tried shutting down your iMac and starting it up from a cold start?
If you still have trouble I would ask whether you shut everything down correctly before disconnecting/unplugging/powering-down the drives. Unfortunately, it is possible that some of the drives were not disconnected or whatever in the proper manner, and, so, have become corrupted. (I'm hoping not, for your sake. However, even if so, such can be recovered, but it will take more expertise than you seem to claim for yourself.)

Are you a former MobileMe user, and if so, do you have adequate storage in your iCloud account? If not, your iCloud email will be suspended until you either upgrade your storage plan or reduce your iCoud storage.

8520-unable to get email settings in the set up folder

I have only had this for 2days and I am unable to get the emails working, in the set up tables the email setting icon is not there and when I try to set up the email in the set up wizard, email set up only gives 1 option ' I want to use a work email account with blackberry enterprise server' which I don't I wan to connect to my home email address with Sky Email

This appears to be a common issue and there are several threads about this....
I am having the same issue with msn email. I got the message yesterday from Blackberry to change my password. No luck in doing that nor in deleting the email service and adding it back. I think this is on the Blackberry side of things not MSN. I greatly depend on having mobile access to my email and this service level won't cut it. So far Blackberry is a Fail for me due to this as well as a host of other things. I guess it is time to go back to something else.
I'll keep trying and post back if my email service eventually gets successfully added back to my blackberry.
Edited to add: I tried adding my son's msn account and it set up just fine via the web at blackberry service and also again via email setup on my phone. When I use the web based email setup process I receive an "invalid email or password: error. When I use the blackberry handheld email setup application I get an error message that says "Unable to set up email. Please try again." Yes - I am sure I am using the right msn password - I have signed on to my account several times to be sure. This is incredibly frustrating. Any ideas at all? Is this the only support that is available - asking other users?

How do I get Outlook Email from Exchange Server configured on iPhone?

My business email is hosted on MS Exchange Server via Outlook and is distributed to my networked PC and VPN home PC and laptop. My IT manager has enabled IMAP on the Exchange Server. I am unable to get my email account on the iPhone to receive or send mail through my Server. My domain names have been entered in the format "exchange.[domainname].com, and my user ID and password has been input for both incoming and outgoing email. The iPhone cannot seem to talk to the server and retrieve or send mail. Does anyone know what to do on the iPhone to be able to communicate with the server? (I am aware of the various limitations of the iPhone vs. Windows Smart Phones in terms of being able to use Microsoft Push Email and to be able to synch calendars, contacts etc. with a corporate server and/or multiple computers. Hopefully Apple will license ActiveSync for the iPhone to provide for this functionality, as recently rumored on a few blogs.)

Thanks for your response. I've used the path that I had successfully used for years with my Windows Smartphone to no success. Neither advanced Apple telephone support nor my IT guy could get this to work. I have implemented a workaround to have my server automatically forward my emails to a new Yahoo account which then pushes to my iPhone. Definitely an unsatisfactory and incomplete solution, however.
Editorial comments for Apple: Windows ActiveSync was so much more sophisticated in terms of being able to deal with server-based email, contacts, calendar and for users with multiple computers - i.e. office, home and laptop. I would have expected Apple to introduce something at least as functional and sophisticated or to licence ActiveSync. My user capabilities are substantially downgraded in these areas with my new iPhone and absent a quick software upgrade or licence of ActiveSync I will be unable to function productively with my iPhone. While we're at it, Apple, with my multiple email accounts set up on the iPhone, which is a great feature, I have no easy way to tell in which account to find a new email. I am forced to update the inbox in every single account to try to find where my new mail is going - some new mail indicator next to the account name (as opposed to showing how many unread emails exist with each account) needs to be implemented. The phone hardware, other than the batter - which doesn't even last me for the full course of a workday - is great, but software has only gotten to about 75% of where it needs to be.
