If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update.

I think your Voice mailbox goes by time, not # messages, so if one or two of the messages is longer, then it would be "full" faster.
Go to youmail.com and follow the directions to set up youmail.
Just curious - why do you need to save 20+ messages? Once I deal with them, I delete them.... and I rarely have more than one or two \saved messages.... -

I just want to get rid of the **** Yahoo toolbar! If not, I want to go back to the previous version of Firefox. Can someone help me with the steps to do either one of these, Please!!!
I just figured out how to remove it. Go to the Tools menu and select add-ons. Click on extensions, locate Yahoo Toolbar in the list, and off to the right, you can click on "Disable" or "Remove." I disabled, restarted Firefox 4.0, and bingo, no annoying Yahoo toolbar. Hope this helps!

There isn't anything in contacts that has "create a group" . That's why this is so frustrating. I've tried creating a new contact and dragging names into it - doesn't work. I can't find anything that helps!!! What am I missing?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
It isn’t possible to create a rescue email address without supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

My little children Majd entered the wrong passcode for more than 10 times, my iPhone automatically got reset all data was deleted. I managed to retrieve the contacts only but I'm unable to retrieve my SMS's and my photos???? Can you help me please ???

Did you ever back up your phone on the computer?
Did you use photo stream at all?
May I suggest changing your passcode lock to a letters and numbers lock (if not all ready it will make your iphone more secure and a restore lock otion shouldent be needed). Then change your setting as well preventing restore after ten incorect passwords.

When I went and connected my phone to my laptop and hit restore and it got rid of everything my photos my contacts everything and I don't know how to get the stuff back and if you need to know I have an IPhone4S
I take it you were replacing an older iPhone and this was the first time you plugged it in? If so, that's what happens. It restored the backup of your old phone. A backup of the current phone is not made in those circumstances.
If that's not what happened, you need to clarify. -
In updating my iPod to 6.1.2, I received an error during the update. Now, my ipod is not rebooting. It continues to display a screen showing usb to Itunes picture. Turning off and back on, it goes back to this picture. I don't know how to reset so that I can restore from my backup.
A similar thing happened when I updated the ios on my ipad. But, I was able to reboot, and then restore from backup. How can I get my ipod to reboot and allow restore when it is not even recognized as I reconnect to my computer?Try:

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I tried watching videos using various apps such as meta tube etc.. But after 10 secs instead of video "Q" water mark comes and sound goes on. Can someone help?
The only app you specifically mention is meta tube. No way to tell from the description on the app page where they source the material (I suspect primarily YouTube), and no reviews as of yet. You might want to contact the vendor.
If you are getting the same results from established streaming apps, such as YouTube or Jasmine, I would say you have a connection speed issue (keeping the stream from properly buffering). Hard to say.
Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset. -

I am unable to update my apps... in my purchases page it appears as "update", then a message tells me to log on with the Apple ID I purchased the app with... Well I have tried my two different accounts and neither one will work, can someone help ??
And is there any way to sync all my purchases and accounts to just have one... It is a bit stupid that you dont even get a list of something of what account you may of used, or some kind of hint, so you could log on to the right account. I am really stuck ...

There is no way to transfer ipod-to-ipod. Look for a 3rd party program, such as Yamipod, that will let you pull the music from your old iPod to your computer.
You really should be backing up your data on your computer. -
