To Whom it May Concern:
My name is Michelle. I have a basic question. My ipad recently came up missing on January 22, 2013. Its been a major issue because i am so attached to it. I carry it around in my purse and put it to great use. I was wondering if there was a way to track its location with GPS, or possibly see its where-abouts via the internet. I know there has been one purchase made on my account that wasn't me on January 28, 2013 for $1.00. I never setup the find my ipad app or went through the setup process however i was thinking maybe there was a way to track it by its serial number? Ive seen the police do it. If theres any information you could help me with concerning this isssue i would greatly appreciate it.

Unless you activated Find My iPad/Phone, there's no way.

Missing iPad

Missing: iPad (first generation3G and WifI 64G), March 16 2011 on flight 1560 from Dallas to Newark,black case. My iPad was in airplane mode when I closed it and put it in my back pack upon arriving to Newark. Somewhere between disembarking plane and getting on tram, it disappeared from my backpack. I tried the Find function but since I didn't have a chance to take it out of airplane mode....no good. I finally cancelled data service today because I was hoping it would be returned. Lost and Founds and airline at both airports have my info but nothing. I am putting this out there just in case someone found it and thinks to look here.Reward if found.
BTW: since it is in airplane mode and password protected, no one can get in, right?

Leaving it in airplane mode really makes no more difference than, say, leaving it OFF before it goes missing. The Fine Me app doesn't work unless and until the u it pops up on the net somewhere, always assuming that the feature had been turned on in Settings.
How secure it is will, of course, depend mostly on what you mean by "password protected", on how strong the password is, how good the new owner is at getting around that sort of thing, and etc. My own expectation would have been that at some point that goombah's going to figure out how to get out of Airplane and to start trying to use the iPad online and, and at point, the app can go to work.

If you set up Find My iPad/MobileMe on it before it was stolen then you can use that to potentially locate it - though it will need to be connected to a network and not have already been wiped. If you didn't set up Find My iPad before it was stolen then unfortunately it's too late.

ICal button is missing iPad 1. Any ideas?

iCal event (+) button is missing so it has rendered iCal useless. It is a recently bought iPad 1 with up to date software.
Any ideas will help!

Download the current version to a computer, sign into the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID on the iPad, go to the Purchases tab, and try downloading it from there. If you can't do it that way, not unless you have a copy of a compatible version, which may not exist.

Missing iPad via DHL Malaysia

Has anyone ever experience missing shipment via DHL Malaysia? I've purchased an iPad mini retina display for my teenage daughter online, but has not receive the shipment. DHL said they've delivered and showed me a fish-like swiggle as prove of signature, but no name or identity. They said that my daughter's brother received the shipment, but my son was in college in another state during the date of delivery. There were however, foreign construction workers around the house at the time.
My questions are:
1. Could DHL leave a package to just about anyone without asking for some form of identification?
2. I've made a police report on the matter, and now planning to make a claim in the Tribunal Court. Should i sue Apple or DHL, or both?
3. Pls share should you have any other advise you may want to share with me.

I just fixed the multiple TV Show Icons issue by making sure the "Artist" & "Show" have exactly the same thing on it.
In other words Select all the episodes in a single season on itunes, then go to "Get Info" select the "Info" Tab and in "Artist" type in the of the show "ABC", then click on the "Video Tab" and make sure it says the exact same thing "ABC" as the "Show". This will fix the repeated icons on the screen and puts all your episodes under the same icon however the sequence of the episodes are now out of order.
Have not figured out how to correct the sequence yet.

Missing iPad Callendar appoiontments in iCloud

My iCloud account has not got all my iPad Callendar appointments. The ones synced seem to be random with missing items sometimes on the same day as saved ones. I am trying to sync these to my Andriod phone, which is sincing the ones in iCloud OK, but obviously I want it to sync everything on my iPad Callendars. Any help gratefully received (my contacts are all in iCloud OK)

i had the same problem with synchronizing contact from icloud on the iphone
the solution i found is to delete the contact from icloud and create it again
then they are on the iphone :s

Missing iPad fonts

I'm working on my imac in pages and saved it in icloud. When I open it on my ipad, its missing some of the fonts. How do I add the fonts to my ipad air (all programs and software are most current versions) so that I can work seamlessly on a document on any of my devices?

For everybody who is sick and tired of not being able to use custom fonts in their documents on their iOS devices I might have a solution.
I ran into similar problems and took this as my motivation to develop "AnyFont". With this little app you are able to install all the fonts you need for your presentations on your iPhone or iPad. So when your are using Calibri in your presentation and get the error message after importing it on your iPad you can use AnyFont to install Calibri on your device which makes the error message go away and lets you use Calibri in your presentation.

Missing iPad mini photo iTunes summary tab

The iPad mini photo does not show on my iTunes summary tab. Anyone knows why is that?

Just updated iTunes 11 and problem still persists. I am using iPad 4 and MBP. After update "Photo" tab still missing. Any one still facing this problem?
I can see the iPad devise in iPhoto but that is all. I cannot even synced it.
How to resolve this issue? I have searched high and low over the internet to no avail.

In order for a lost iPad to be located you have to have set 'Find My iPad' up on it before losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network (how else could it transmit its location) - if any of these conditions is not true then locating it is not possible. You can't use the serial number, or IMEI number (on iPads with a cellular connection) to locate an iPad: the former is only useful to identify it as yours if it turns up, and the latter can be used by most service providers to block it, rendering it useless and preventing anyone from spending your credit.

As i mentioned above the computer that was being used for iTunes as well as my back ups is no longer operational this is why I bought a new one. I have read several times that the iPhone is a mirror etc but if this is the case how come my Camera Roll, Apps, Contacts, Text Messages and purchased music was transferred to my new computer via my iPhone but not the photo library that I had added to it? I guess my question is why did these get deleted? Where did they go? and can I retrieve them?
No I haven't used iCloud either.

I purchased a used IPad in the USA to send to our charity in Ghana. It was posted from Nevada and was never delivered. I have purchased another Ipad and want to use the Apps I purchased on the missing Ipad? What can I do?

To Clarify above. I purchased a 1st generation Ipad to send to our charity in Ghana. I posted it off from Nevada US Postal service and it never arrived inl Takaradi Ghana. My belief is that as the customs declaration said "Ipad" it was too good an oppertunity for a postal worker between the US and Ghana to get a free Ipad.
After waiting a few months to confirm the loss, I purchased another Ipad at Schipol airport Netherlands as I was travelling back to Ghana this week. The cost was considerably more than the used Ipad and I am now out far more than I budgeted for.
My question is: How can I download the paid apps I had on the stolen Ipad on to the one I have just purchased. I have all the details concerning the stolen Ipad but no the seriel number. Any help appreciated.

Missing iPad Wireless icon

Why does my iPad's cellular LTE icon display when I'm on a wireless network, that connection confirmed by a checkmark next to my network list in Settings?

This happens to me, too, when my iPad connects to a wifi-network which needs to use a VPN login to use the internet. I suppose that the iPad just looks for an internet connection, if it can't reach the internet, it will use the cullular network instead of the wifi. I were able to solve this by turning on the VPN client, which firtsly connects via the cellular network but after the successful connection to the VPN it switches to the wifi icon.
