I need to update my ipod but I first have to update itunes on my computer but I dont know how to.
Is this music your friend wrote and performed and which you have permisssion to copy? Not being able to copy media from a phone synced to one library to a computer with a different library is probably deliberate to prevent people from distributing music for which they have not paid.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

I just updated my iTunes, and I need to delete photos from my iPod 4, and there is a Photo Library that synced to my iPod when i plugged it into my computer, and now it doesnt have the option to delete them off my iPod. How do I get rid of these photos? I have read other questions that say to plug the iPod into the computer and like un-sync it, but I downloaded the new iTunes and it doesnt have a photos tab. Backup with this User Tip, restore the library to the new computer using the same tool, keep the backup up-to-date in future.
Deauhorise the old computer if you no long want to access protected content from it.

I updated my itunes to 11 and found out my phone and ipod were not compatible. I uninstalled it and reinstalled 10.7 but now I get an error message when I try to open itunes saying "the file cannot be read because it was created by a newer verison" What do I do?
Thank you for clarify I'm supposed to read the ENTIRE article. I thought I was just supposed to read the title and magically everything will fix itself. I recently had my computer redone and had to redownload itunes on my computer and when I synced my ipod none of my music went into my library. How do I get my music that is on my ipod into my library on itunes?
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone . The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

Easyest way is to uninstal itunes manualy and then download new itunes from apple.com .
