HT5500 I'm trying to delete contacts on my iPad and can't find any way to do it

I have accessed every online hint I could find. There is no 'delete contact' when I try to edit. some of the contacts are just ridiculous - people I don't have in any of my contact lists, and who are not friends on Facebook. None of my 'real' contacts are included. I'm completely stumped!

Go in to Settings>Facebook and turn off Contacts if this is on as this will allow Facebook to populate your Contacts app.

On my ipad mini, when I delete an email from the inbox (and it goes into Trash), it immediately deletes that email from the server (ATT/Yahoo). I've called support for both ATT and Apple and can't find a way to have the emails remain on the server.

[The curious thing is, if I "move" the deleted emails from Trash on my iPad Mini into the Inbox, I can go to my notebook, open my online email and they are back in my ATT/Yahoo Inbox.]

Sounds like you actually have a 1st generation as those cannot update beyond iOS 3.1.3.

Where are you looking on the iPad ? Your synced music (and that which you download from iTunes directly on the iPad) should go into the Music app

Unless you synced them with an email account or backed them up somewhere, it's doubtful. You may end up paying money for an app that cannot guarantee anything. Sorry.

No worries. Often after iTunes updates you have to reconnect your device in order for iTunes to see it. Happens to me all the time!

Why can I not delete some movies I bought at iTunes a while back I've tried everything -- opening up video app and doing the tap and hold thing, the swiping left to right thing ... Nothing there isn't even a edit icon on top right corner ... I need more space and I do not warn to buy more and the movies I don't even watch anymore I also turned deleting in the iTunes app to no luck

Do the movies have a cloud icon next to them? If they do, they are not on the iPad anyway and can be hidden in Settings>iTunes and App Store>Show all>Videos>Off.
If that's not it, try deleting the videos in Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Videos> there is an Edit Button in the upper right corner. Tap that.

Strange issue while trying to delete files - locked item that I can't find

I am working on clearing off some hard drive space, and my first step was to remove some unneeded items from an external HD to make some space there. When I drag the folder I'm trying to delete to the trash, I first get a message that the items will be immediately deleted (I think because my internal HD is quite full?) and that's fine because I do want to delete these, so I say OK. It starts the process of deleting, and counting how many files it's deleting, then gives me a message that the operation cannot be completed because item "xx" is locked. The only solutions I have found on here involve unlocking "xx" but my problem is, when I search the computer and/or the external for item "xx" nothing is found. I'm really not sure if the issue with item "xx" is an issue with the drive or with the computer, or what to do about it?? If it's the drive, I suppose I could back up what I do want to save from the drive then re-format it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and please word any answers as if you are speaking to a complete idiot, because with regards to this kind of information, you are! Thanks!

A program called "tudosearch" interferes with my Firefox - it always comes up when I try to open Firefox or if Firefox tries to call up another program. I can not find a way to get rid of it.

When I try to open Firefox, a window comes up saying that Firefox can not run Tudosearch. I then have to exit this window before I can go on. It also comes up when I try to go to another website while in
Firefox. I can not find the program "Tudosearch" on my computer therefore I can not remove it. Any suggestions?

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

Yes, once deleted it's gone, there is no trashcan or undelete facility on the iPad. If it was on the iPad when you last synced/backed up then you could try restoring the iPad to that backup and see if that restores it - but you will need to restore the whole iPad, you can't just restore one photo or one app.

I have a long list of bookmarks. They are not sorted. They do not appear anywhere in the "organize bookmarks" window. Where are they? I want to delete a bunch of them but can't find a way.

This is Firefox 3.6.8 and Mac OS 10.5.8.
Right clicking on a bookmark does nothing. I don't know if that is a Firefox version issue or a mouse issue, but the mouse can right click on the Mac OS desktop and get the usual menus.
It is possible for me to delete bookmarks which still point to an active web page because there I can use the star to edit the bookmark. That is way too cumbersome a process for the long list I have. Some are old and no longer point to an active page. The star comes up empty in those cases anyway and I can do nothing about the bookmark.
Bottom line is that I just need a way to see the whole list and choose the ones to delete.
I thought they should all show up in the unsorted bookmarks folder but it is empty. That may be the crux of the problem.

Update - I discovered that the entire list of bookmarks can be accessed in the Organize Bookmarks window by clicking on the icon for Bookmarks Menu.
This seem like odd interface behaviour to me.
All the other software I use follows the pattern that an icon with a triangle to the left, which you click on to expand the menu tree downwards, shows the entire contents of the category when you click on the triangle. In other words, you don't get a different response by clicking on the icon from what you get by clicking on the triangle.
It also seems odd to me that when an unsorted bookmarks folder is automatically provided that unsorted bookmarks would not be placed there by default.
Anyway, by getting the list of bookmarks displayed this way I was able to simply right-click on items in the list and delete them, as I thought I should be able to do. Problem solved. Organize Bookmarks interface found to be somewhat unintuitive.
