  • I changed my email address on one of my old APPLE accounts and want to merge my accounts together, how can I change my email address on my old Apple account?

I changed my email address on one of my old APPLE accounts and want to merge my accounts together so I can get all my songs!!  My computer crashed and I'm tryng to change everything over to my mac via my ipod classic and just Transfer old files.  It's ejecting my disc (ipod) so I figured I could just change my old Apple ID to be one with my new one.
how can I change my email address on my old Apple account?

There is no way to merge two Apple IDs as all purchases made with each account are always tied to those accounts.
All you can do to each account is change the email address for each one but they can't have the same email address.

  • My Apple ID is valid but can't open icloud account how do i proceed?

My "Apple ID is valid but can't open icloud account" is the message I receive when I try to sign in to icloud so how do i proceed?  I want to install to my ipad and iphone Apple's locator service in my systems, I have a PC for work reasons where I do my apple safari and Itunes and now installed icloud but I don't recall having an icloud account.  I guess I do have an accout but how do I not confuse it with my current Apple Id account as I retrieve or create a new icould account?  Thanks.

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID.  You can only sign into an existing account on a PC.  You first have to create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone).

  • Hello! How I can cancel my iCloud account? I would like to use alias but I have create the second account by mistake. Now, user's name for one alias is unavailable!  Thank you! LG

Hello! How I can cancel my iCloud account? I would like to use alias but I have create the second account by mistake.
Now, user's name for one alias is unavailable!
    Thank you! LG

To the best of my knowledge you have now unfortunately blocked yourself: you can't cancel an iCloud account and as you've got the address there you can't add it as an alias, and I don't know of any workaround for that.

  • How often can i change icloud account association/other ?s

How often can i change icloud account association on a ios device.  If the ios device has a shared photo folder photo on it, will that setting still apply to the updated icloud account.by default.  How long will the shared photos from the original icloud account stay available to the other devices?  When a shared photo folder is disabled from the ios device, does it immediately remove acces via icloud?  if photo stream is activated on one ios device, does it activate on the other devices using that icoud account.  Thanks for your help

You change it the same way you change the information for any Apple ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5621.  (An iCloud ID is also an Apple ID.)
After changing the ID, read this to know what to do next: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796.

  • TS4020 how many devices can use one icloud account

Is there a limit on to how many devices can use one icloud account

*GE TAG - Don't you just love how people in forums answer their own question rather than the one being asked.
Let me help those that have responded so far, and those still awaiting an answer.
An account for iCloud does also include log-ins for the iOS App Store / Mac App Store / iTunes Desktop Application , but an iCloud account on any device iOS / Mac / PC does not have to match the App Store / iTunes account which certainly has its account login limitations per device as has been pointed out.
What seems to be ommitted is if there is a limit to an iCloud account per X number of devices.
In my estimation there appears to be no limitation for iCloud accounts per device. I say this only with the experience of having my own iCloud account on a MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Apple TV Gen2, Apple TV Gen3, iPhone 5S, and an iPad Mini Gen 1.
That is 7 separate devices. Never once have I been prompted about a limit when setting up my iCloud account (which constitues Contacts / Calendar / Notes / Reminders / Documents in the Cloud / Keychain / and Photo Stream and not purchased content through App / iTunes "stores" which do give such prompting upon authorizing your respective device for being able to use / sync said purchases)
I've really only come to this realizatoin upon thinking this through after reading this thread. I was actually searching for this answer myself until now. If I'm wrong I will welcome a rebutal with proof.

Is there anyway I can change the iCloud account On my iPod5 from someone else's iCloud account to my iCloud account?

    As I stated earlier:
You will need the Apple ID and password of the previous owner or the device will be locked and cannot be used.

  • HT204053 How do I merge 2 icloud accounts together?

I have a 2 accounts I am not sure how I ended up with 2 but is there away to merge them together?

You can't merge them, but you can manually merge the data from one account with the data in the other.  To do this, make sure your are signed into the account you will be leaving in Settings>iCloud.  If you aren't, go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account (this only deletes the account from the phone, not from iCloud), then set up the account you want to leave, turn on your iCloud data syncing, choosing Merge when prompted.  Once the data from this account is on your device go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, when prompted choose Keep on My iDevice.  Then sign into the account you will be keeping, turn you iCloud data syncing back to on, and when prompted choose Merge.  This will merge the data on your device (from the other account) with the data in the account you will be keeping.

  • How to merge icloud accounts

I have two icloud accounts and want to merge them together. One account I bought storage on and the other I want to use as my main icloud. The goal of the merging is to have access to the storage I paid for.

You've nothing to lose by asking, but my guess is that you will be told you have to cancel the existing storage and purchase in the other account separately. You can only cancel the storage in the first 15 days after you bought it, or get a proportional refund in the following 30 days. After 45 days from the date of purchase you can't cancel it except to cancel the next year's subscription. Still, you never know your luck.

  • How can I separate icloud accounts on one apple id?

We have four apple ios5 devices in our household under one apple id . Each of us want our own icloud account though. We don't want eachothers stuff on eachother's phones and ipods. What can we do to stop that so we can have our own? We have our own contacts, pictures and music. We want it to stay that way. Please help!!!

I've been trying to figure out a clean way to do this too. I think you may need more than one Apple ID – one that is shared and used to purchase "sharable" items and then "individual" Apple IDs for you and your son. That's the idea that I'm pursuing for the moment.
It seems that there must be a way to do this, App Store purchases for the Mac are licensed across multiple machines. iPhone app purchases have "all your devices" licensing. Makes me think that Apple has a process in mind for sharing an account (or associating a device with multiple accounts).
    Other things I've learned:
    - Apparently you can't merge Apple ID accounts. I asked about this once at an Apple Store and was told that there was no way to do it.
    - If you share an Apple ID the Messages app behaves in a somewhat surprising manner. It must use your Apple ID to decide where messages should be sent because all users get all messages. This can make it very hard to organize a surprise party :-)

  • Will there be a way to merge iCloud accounts for family sharing in iOS 8?

My family of four has 5 Apple IDs. Each of us has a personal one that we use for mail, contacts, and calendars and we all share an Apple ID for use with the iTunes and App Stores. This way, we can all currently share content without having to buy it four times. However, Apple has solved this problem in iOS 8 with family sharing.
My question is how should I handle this with my current lineup of Apple IDs. I know there's currently no way to merge two Apple IDs into one, and I don't want to just transfer my credit card to my personal Apple ID, as I will lose my purchase history. I know I could add my current "shared" ID to our family account in iOS 8, but I'd like not to have a duplicate of myself. Any advice would be appreciated!

It's not necessary to merge the iCloud and iTunes Store accounts. The Family Organizer should use their own iCloud account when setting up Family Sharing. You'll also be asked to supply the iTunes Store account you want to use to share music, movies, apps, etc., with your family during the setup process. It appears Apple has already addressed this common problem.
