Does it make a difference if I purchase my storage plan through iOS5, or through Mac OS?

Shouldn't matter which device you use to make the purchase as long as it's the same Apple ID on all.

Let me see if I can help you with the basic WDS configuration steps:
Note: To help facilitate the setup, temporarily connect the AXn directly to the AEBS LAN port using an Ethernet cable. Once the setup is complete, you can move the AXn to the desired location. For all configuration steps you will be using the AirPort Utility. Before starting, be sure to jot down the AppleIDs for both base stations.

  • IPhone equalizer does not make a difference

I set EQ presets to all my songs in iTunes. When I change the EQ settings on my iPhone (3.1) while listening to a song, it does not make any difference to the sound, regardless of the preset I choose.
Any clues or suggestions? What is the difference between off and flat?

It has to do with licensing and copyright laws varying worldwide.
Yes, I know. Which is why I won't argue over it.   As I said I've never had an issue with it when travelling.
And Apparently the purchase is working fine for the OP, its the actual download that gets hung up.
Anyway, If the Purchase is going fine, then its more likely an issue with the internet connection.
Are you on Cell service when trying to download rather than Wifi?

I have set up hotmail account on my 3gs... but when i tap on the account in settings it comes up as exchange not hotmail.  I still get my mail, does it make a difference??

no.  Apple handles all warranty issues regardless if you purchased your phone at Sprint.

  • I am downloading a digital album and i have to choose between apple lossless, flac, and high quality mp3.  i am using itunes and i have a pc running windows 7  does that make a difference?

I am downloading an album and I don't know which format to choose.  Flac, apple lossless, or high quality mp3.  I want to play it in itunes, on my iphone and i have a pc running windows 7.  Does that make a difference?

Go with Apple Lossless.  It will play readily in iTunes vs. FLAC.  You can convert it later to mp3 if you wish but you cannot convert mp3 to ALE or FLAC and get back the quality that was lost.  You can also convert ALE to FLAC if you need to.

  • Hard Drive Placement -- Does it make a difference?

    Hi,
I just got a new 2.66 Quad. It has the factory 1TB as a boot drive and a 1TB and 750 that came out of my old MacPro G5. I want to replace the 750 with a 1.5 and fill the empty bay with another 1.5. (I will partition the 1.5's so that I can use the external 750's I already own for external back ups.)
Does the Mac care about the order in which I place the drives in the 4 bays? Am I correct that it will look in the front bay for the boot drive? (I know I can change boot drive in system preferences, but I'm curious as to whether the order in the bays makes any difference at all.)
    Thanks.

The Hatter obviously did not read your post.
I have a Dual-Quad-Core 2.93GHz Intel Xeon system. I upgraded from a G4-400 (Sawtooth). All Power PC applications run just fine, although they all use Rosetta technology to emulate the Power PC. Snow Leopard will allow you to optionally install Rosetta, so your applications are fine.
Rosetta will require about double the system RAM per application that the application needed with a Power PC system. Intel-native applications and those written for either will not need the extra RAM. Intel-specific and Universal Binary applications will take better advantage of your system's processors.
I have booted my Mac Pro from any one of three hard drives in four hard drive bays. My current system has a Leopard startup drive in the third bay, a Snow Leopard system in the fourth bay (for testing) and a Leopard system in the first bay. The first bay is the closest to the front of the computer. I have a 1.5T aftermarket WD drive in the second bay that is my Time Machine drive. First bay has the Apple-installed 1T drive. Third bay has a 1T SATA drive out of my G4-400 system (which I installed an SATA drive controller card into so that I could move to SATA). Fourth bay has a .5T SATA drive (originally in my G4-400) that I use for testing purposes and any beta testing I am doing.
Your Mac Pro will also start from an external drive chassis, assuming you have an e-SATA or Fibre card installed in your Mac Pro (and I have done that a couple of times).
To determine what drive should automatically start your computer, open *System Preferences* and click on *Startup Disk*. Any drive with a valid System Folder will appear in the list of drives, as well as a "network startup" icon (that will have a question mark if your system cannot see a network boot configuration). It is this preference that will determine the order in which your system will try to find a valid System Folder.

  • Is it better to load several apps at the same time, or one at a time? Does it make a difference?

I have replaced the "Login Items" functionality with an Automator app that runs when I log in. It asks if I want to load all my startup items now, or just cancel it. I have several startup items, including some utility apps, but also bigger apps like Safari and iTunes.
I currently do this by "Get Specified Finder Items" providing a list of the apps, and then "Open Finder Items," opening all of them at once so they are all loading up simultaneously. I then wait for a while until my CPU has calmed down and everything is ready to go (which is the reason for moving them to an Automator workflow in the first place; I can cancel loading if I don't want to wait).
Would it be better to open one, wait for it to load, open the next, etc.? Would this have any effect on performance as far as either the time it takes to load up or the efficiency of the computer as it operates with all of these things loaded?
Just curious. It would be difficult to actually test, since i imagine the difference would be small if any.

I don't think it makes any difference.

  • How can one use one specific security realm per application ? The realm-name attribute of the login-config tag of web.xml does not make any difference

    Hi,
I have different sets of users coming from different databases and using different
roles mapping for each of my web applications. I would like to configure a specific
security realm per application in my weblogic server 7.0 . Is it possible ?
I try to specify the realm-name of the login-config tag from the web-xml deployement
descriptor but it doesn't make any difference. The default realm is always used.
I also would like to tell the Weblogic server to use the default realm in case
the realm isn't specified or isn't found. For example, the default would contains
    my admin users.
Thanks a lot for your answer.
    Iz

I thik this is a common mistake the ralm-name tag in the deployment descriptor is used
just by the browser for display purposes (when it opens the basic auth dialog box) so as
of now there is only 1 active realm which can have multiple providers as Kevin pointed
    out
    Kevin Lewis wrote:
WebLogic 7 now ignores the realm-name tag (I found that out yesterday).
My understanding is that there is only one realm active at a time for a domain
(I would be interested in being contradicted in this).
However, you can have multiple providers in each category of a realm: authentication,
authorization, etc. Therefore, what you can do is key authentication, et al,
off of some other information. We have our users enter their company, for example,
and use the TextInputCallback to get it. You could also encode something in the
initial page, based on the URL they hit, or whatever, and get that back in your
    callback.
You can store that information in your own Principal implementation, and key off
of that in your authorization provider, going to a different database as appropriate,
or abstaining when a specific provider doesn’t have anything to say about a subject.
Anyway, there should be a way to do it, even if it's more complex than you would
    have hoped.

  • My older classic 160GB shows up in iTunes 11 but will not sync. I have a new PC and transferred all my iTunes to it. Old was XP - new is Windows 7. Does this make a difference?

My older classic (6 yrs or more) will not sync even though is recognized in iTunes 11. I have a new computer with Windows 7 vs my old one that had XP. Does this matter? I had my data transferred and redownloaded what did not transfer but I cannot get the new items purchased and downloaded to sync with my iPod. The data on the iPod has not changed one bit even though it shows as syncing. What do I do? The iPod works perfectly otherwise.

Thanks planb77. Your instructions worked but I had to do a little more than you stated. I did not realize that transferring files to a new computer was not enough. When the iPod synced I was told I needed to "authorize" my new computer to get my iTunes purchases to sync to the iPod. So after the initial sync, I ejected and disconnected the iPod, went into the iTunes store, set up "home sharing" and then authorized the new computer. When that was done I reconnected the iPod and was able to sync all my books and music. The only thing I couldn't do was rename the iPod as iTunes never asked me to. Is there a way to rename it after it has been set by iTunes as "owner's iPod"?

  • Font size is too small in flash applications and the "zoom" feature does not make any difference. Thanks

Zoom dosen't work in flash applications and it is crazy small and too hard to read...this does beat out the fact you can't right click using flash in google chrome...I prefer firefox, but will go back to IE if it is the only program without such major bugs
I have also reset the minimum text size in flash and that did not help the problem at all.

  • Does Codec make a difference ripping video from a CD to Ipod?

I see that DV codec is supported. Is this the same a DivX? The avi files I get need a divx converter. Before I break open my box only to be disappointed, I'd like to know if I'll be able to view the video I bought the Ipod for. Or is the original video codec irrelevant?
    TIA
    Dell   Windows XP

Thanks for your help and sorry I wasn't clearer. I do actually have the video on a CD-ROM. I'm a bit rough with technicalities. I apologize. I have video in .avi format that I need a divx converter to watch. I see Ipod does support .avi files but I don't see in tech specs that divx converter is supported. I'm not sure which counts. I asked a salesperson today who told me that Ipod software supports anything in divx without needing even third party conversion. After reading much of these message boards, I'm suspicious of what the salesperson told me today.

  • Does it make any difference if you are editing an interactive form with Reader or Pro?

My document has extended features, if you open this in Reader or Pro does it work the same?

    For the most part.
If it is enabled, Reader users will be able to fill in form fields, add comments then save when finished. But they won't be able to add form fields or do any other editing that Acrobat can do.

  • Using OS10.6 and headed to OS10.8, on two computers (home and remote), but does it make a difference when "Remote Desktop" gets installed?

    The question describs the question.

    varjak paw,
Thanks for the insight.  Sorry for the delayed response, I have not been on the computer since 17Mar13,
Background -- The tech specs for ARD3 at "http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/specs.html" states "The administration and client system for Apple Remote Desktop 3 is designed to run on any computer running Mac OS X v10.4.11, Mac OS X v10.5.7 or later."  So, I interpreted this as it would run on any of these systems, hence my question.  I was trying to understand if there might be any conflicts if I installed it while both computers were at 10.6.8 (for the question I rounded to 10.7), if it made any difference if the OS differed on the two computers, and then updated AED after upgrade to 10.8.  The extra background is that the two computers are 400 miles apart, hence the desire to use ARD.  It is good to know that if ARD3 really will not run on the older systems, then I would not be able to purchase it (I'll probably take these steps tomorrow).
