HT5527 IOS does not allow selection of downgrade to 5GB

Trying to downgrade from 40GB to the free 5GB is apparently not allowed for IOS. I check that option, the checkmark appears to the right, but when I tap "Done" nothing happens. I can apparently go to 20 GB for $20. 5GB is free for the Mac, why not for IOS. It is the same storage. Do I have to pay different for the two systems or pay double or whatever? I wish they never threw out the old iCloud system where I could put stuff there in files organized like the Mac and use them. The way now is really clunky and there is no ease of use.

You can't downgrade to the 5GB plan because your account is automatically scheduled to downgrade to the 5GB at the end of Sept. already.  If that's what you want you don't need to do anything.

    Just suddenly this started. When I right click an image in Bridge (CS6) and select Copy To, only Desktop and the main folder with my name appears - I cannot select folders and hard drives from My Computer. How do I get My Computer to show up in the window where I can Choose Folder. Am using Wn 7 64 bit. This was not an issue until today.

    Continuing to research options for utilizing my Time Machine backups has led to the Pondini pages.  Great stuff.  In there I learned it would be possible to delete individual backups.  This might allow me to get rid of the 3 backups which occured after my HD failed... backups of the new HD that are getting in the way of using Migration Assistant.
    Here is my question.
    In the listing of backups is a alias called Latest.  It seems to be pointing to one of the backups that I want to delete.  Will I cause a problem by deleting it?  Or better yet, is it possible to edit this alias to point to the backup I want to use in Migration Assistant?
    Status of attempts to Restore: Each attempt to restore is taking the better part of a day due to needs like sleeping and goiing to work...
    Attempt 1 restore to day before HD failure worked but a strange assortment of error messages showed up indicating that the Drive failure was corrupting things
    Attempt 2 restore to earlier same day... same result
    Attempt 3 restore to 2 weeks earlier... same result
    Attempt 4 restore to 5 months earlier... good result but l would like to get much closer
    Is it possible to use Migration Assistant to utilize the "corrupt" backup?

    The HD on my MBP failed.  Under warranty. So made an appointment and took her in to my closest Apple Store.  I had a recent full backup on my Time Capsule and thought I would be bringing the "not quite dead yet" old drive home.  Wrong.  Bringing the old HD home would have cost me $200... and I was shocked that there was no provision for erasing the old drive.  Yikes. 
    A couple days later, the new HD is installed and I bring the laptop home and proceed with trying to restore.  The machine hangs on reboot... I let it run over night before doing a powerbutton shutdown followed by using option startup to access Recovery disk and reinstall Mavericks.  Attempt using an older backup.... repeat... three times.  Same outcome.  Somewhere in there, I attempted rebuilding and repairing the restored setup.  Problems were found and I think I did finally get a system that would startup, but it had issues.... issues with the MS Office install, issues with an Apogee plugin... enough to make me keep trying something else.  By now it is several days later and somehow Time Machine has managed to slip in at least one full backup of the disfunctional setup.  Not knowing this, I redo the installation of Mavericks and attempt to use Migration Assistant.  I am presented with exactly one option for which backup to use... the latest one. 
    So what to try next?
    Somehow delete off all backups after replacement of the HD and try again?
    Go back to trying earlier versions of backup using Restore?
    I understand now that I should have done a carbon copy cloner backup sometime before the HD got really ill.... whenever that was?
    So far this has not been a satisfying experience... a top of the line laptop, with the extended warranty, with regular backups on a time capsule.  Still it was not enough. Fortunately, I am not trying to make a living off of this machine and can take some time getting it back up to where it was.  It is making me understand why it might be good to have a Mac Pro with a RAID setup if I had real work on real deadlines.  Not very portable though.

  • ITunes 7.0 does not allow selection of speakers for express.

    The drop down menu for speaker selection is no longer at the bottom of the window for iTunes. Now instead there is a button that says Burn Data Disc. This new release of iTunes is really amateurish. Don't you guys test your apps anymore?

    SOLUTION! iTunes won't Recognize Airport Express + External Speakers
    This solution worked for me a few minutes ago:
    1) RUN AIRPORT SETUP ASSISTANT
    2) Change setting on an existing Airport BASE Station
    3) CONTINUE
    4) (Choose network)
    5) Optional: IDENTIFY to make sure it's communicating with the Airport Express)
    6) CONTINUE. (It will read the configuration and present the details of how its configured.)
    7) CONTINUE. (It will reinstall the configuration just as you have it.
    8) Voila!
    In my case, I had TWO Airport Expresses, one of which did not appear on the drop down menu box in iTunes, but after configuring just one of them as above, they BOTH appeared on the menu and both worked!
    Some other solutions have been offered that assumes you have an Airport Base Station and have the iPV6 setting to "off" but most people use the AirTunes (i.e., iTunes direct connect with Airport Express+Speakers.) This solution works and it didn't matter what your iPV6 or base station was.

    You will need to connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes and update in that fashion. Since the OTA update ability was introduced in iOS 5, if your device has an iOS of less than iOS 5, you will have to do it that way. After updating, you will be able to do subsequent updates OTA.
    Connect to iTunes, select the phone in the device pane and select update. Also, you will not be able to update to iOS 5, you can only update to the latest iOS, which for the iPhone 4 is iOS 6.1.3.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Try deleting the mail account and setting it back up again.

    Having same issues. had been syncing every few days with outlook 2007 contacts and calendar but since updated to 4.0.2 and latest itunes I get an error that it is unable to sync. I can't seem to find any solution.

    Thanks for replying and apologies for my tardiness in responding. I have just completed a re-creation of my web page using CSS/HTML rather than XML/XSLT and now I find that when saving in MHT format the watermark/background image is saved, which is nice, but trying to save it as 'webpage complete' under 'save as' in the browser still does not work. (For those who are new to Firefox, MHT files are not supported by the browser, but using the FF extention UnMHT one can open such files and save web documents as MHT files, meaning no accompanying folder is required to properly view the file.)

    Per my knowledge,
    it is by design that the data type multiple lines of text can only use “contains” and “begins with” operators.
    You can also filter the list view using SharePoint Designer,
    Open your list AllItem.aspx page in SPD ->click “Filter” > in “Field Name” select your multipe line of text field, in “Comparison” will displayed four choices.

  • 10.8 - image capture - "import to" does not allow to select a program

    Hi,
    after updating to 10.8 I was hoping that my problem with 10.7.4 and Image Capture would be solved but it persist and additionaly has removed all my setings.
    When Image Capture shows the pictures of my iPhone I select some pictures and go to "Import To Other".
    That will open the "Open" dialog with all Programs/Applications on my Mac, but all Programs/Applications are grayed out.
    Until 10.7.3 one was able to select any program to send the pictures to it like Evernote, ExifRenamer, etc.
    Anyone else has the same issue?

  • How do I remove the Windows partition? Boot Camp Assistant does not allow me to select the remove option.

    I am using an iMac, 8.1, early 2008. I installed Windows XP at that time. I am now using OS 10.8.5 and want to remove the Windows partition to free up disk space. Boot Camp Assistant does not allow me to select the "install or remove" option. How can I get rid of the Windows partition?

    You can try removing it in Disk Utility.
    To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Open Disk Utility and select the drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list.
    2. Click on the Partition tab in the Disk Utility main window. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. Select the bottom rectangle/partition. Click on the Delete [-] button below the sizing window to remove it. Click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
    4. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for the remaining partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and drag it all the way down to the bottom. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed. 
    You should now have a restored single volume on the drive.
    It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss.  Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.

    IOS 7 - Does not allow to resize picture to its original size when setting the picture as a wallpaper.    Please test and verify software before release.  This seems like a pretty silly mistake.  Fix this wallpaper resize issue and release new OS.
