HT5554 My phone will not open keypad, recents, contacts or numbers.

Does my iphone need a new SIM card?  The phone part of my iphone is dead.

Have you tried a reset?
Quit the Phone app: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up
then
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

    gj,
Unless it has worked since the upgrading, I believe you should uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

  • HT4623 phone will not open

my phone will not open. it stays on apple logo.

If the reset is not successful, try the other actions of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My phone will not open apps

I used all my apps up to 12 midnight and now they will not open.  It flashes the app and goes back to home screan. Oh ya i updatedwith the new 4.3.3

I've had this happen myself, where it seems like the phone has forgotten that you own the apps and refuses to open them. You need to try the 3 R's and see if they get your phone going again.
First, do a restart. Hold the top button until you see the slide to turn off, and do turn it off. Once you have restarted the phone, it may start working again (didn't for me).
Second, do a reset. Hold the top and home button until you see the Apple logo. Once the phone has been reset, it may start working again.
Third, do a restore. With your iPhone plugged into iTunes, click the restore button on the phone summary page. When prompted, try a restore from backup first. If this doesn't cure the problem, you'll need to do a restore to factory settings, which is what finally cured the problem for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • My i phone will not open my yahoo mail, but sits and spins. I have reset the phone and network and still no help. Any other ideas?

My i-phone stopped receiving e-mail on a regular basis.  Rather, it will sit and spin trying to load and then stop.   Usually, sometime in the night, it will all of a sudden load all of my mail, but then will not load new mail again.  I have updated and reset the phone and network, and the problem remains the same.  Does anyone know a fix for this issue?

Try deleting the account, restarting your phone and then reinputting the account.

  • JPG's saved using Photoshop and emailed to mobile phones will not open

I am using CS5 on a Mac OSX.
I am pretty proficient with Photoshop and have been using this version for several years. This may not be a new situation, I may just have discovered it.
I have emailed from Outlook to two different iPhone (both 5's) and an Android phone. I don't know what the message was on the Android but on the iPhone it starts downloading then displays a greyed out box labeled "mime-attachment".
I have tried changing the file size. I have tried 8 and 16 bit settings.
There isn't any problem opening the files on notebooks and desktop computers.
If I import the file into iPhoto (a Mac program for managing and editing photos) and then resave it, the jpgs email perfectly.
    Any ideas?

Thank Imransim, looking at the mime threat it gave me an idea to try another approach. I tried sending the files using Hotmail and they emailed and were received perfectly.
Conclusion is that the problem is Outlook on my Mac. I will get someone else to use Outlook and send a file saved in Photoshop to my mobile and will report back.

  • My phone will not open App Store. Immediately closes when I try

My iphone has been having problems opening apps up on my phone. More recently and most often is the App Store. It will try to open but then immediately closes back to my main screen. It shows I have 2 updates but wont let me update or see anything. This is also happening when I try to click on the events tab on facebook. Anyone else have this problem?

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red (-) to delete all apps from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • I phone will not open ical attachments

TOTALLY NEW TO IMAC AND I PHONE BUT THINK ARE THE DOGS.
Problem - If i create an attachment on ical (eg a business quotation PDF) i can view it with the space bar on my ical on imac. I cannot figure out how to view the attachment on my iphone. If you can't then that is a terrible omission to make by Mr Mac.
    Please please help!!

Only limited type of attachments supported at this point...it actually make me regret to purchase the Iphone...
iPhone supports the following email attachment file formats: .doc, .docx, .htm, .html, .pdf, .txt, .xls, .xlsx
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1666
But since your is PDF, then scroll to the bottom and click on the Image, it will start download and you able to see on PDF format.
I noticed it when I try open up ZIP file format, as all our corp attachments by default will be ZIP. Apperently IPHONE didn't support ZIP format

  • Droid Incredible 2 - phone will not open, people will not open, etc.

Last week my Droid Incredible 2 started acting funny. First I can no longer open the phone tab to make a call. I also can not see my contacts through the people icon. When i get a message I also no longer see the photos and names, only the phone number. Everything else on the phone is working. I also receive an error which says "Google services framework (process com. google. process. gapps) Stopped unexpectedly". I have powered the phone off and let it sit then powered back on a few times this has not fixed the problem. I have the most current update. It seems like a software issue, but not sure how to fix it. Any help would be great! Thanks

Have you tried pulling the battery, letting the phone sit for half a minute, re-inserting the battery and restarting the phone?  A battery pull does a soft reset and often solves problems like this.

  • My front camera on my phone will not open at all I've already reset, restored, and did a back up and it still won't work

My front camera has stopped working suddenly and I have already tried to restore reset and backup

    Hello Engilliam13,
You may need to contact Apple Support in order to obtain service for your iPhone, as this is the only step remaining from our iPhone Hardware Troubleshooting guide.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.

  • Firefox will not open after recent update of all computer lab servers, Windows server 2008 R2, Multipoint 2011

All 3 computer lab servers were recently updated and rebooted. Java was updated as well to 7u21. Now all 3 do not respond when Firefox icon is clicked, from any thin-client or remote desktop session/user. There is no popup error, just an hour-glass for about 5 seconds and then nada. IE is fine. I can't tell if it was the java update or a windows security update, and I'm not seeing anything in the error logs

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
