TV shows will only appear in the cloud if you are in a country where they can be re-downloaded from the store (you can't add them yourself), in which case they will appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app for re-downloading. But they will only appear there if you are in a country where they can be re-downloaded, and then only as long as the TV company leaves them in the store (content providers occasionally remove their items).

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1? More info would be helpful. As Deggie asked, what was the error message, the more detailed the better. One more thing-- is this a Mac machine or a PC? Cheers.

The only way out of Recovery mode is to connect to iTunes and restore. If you cannot access the computer you normally sync with, you will lose all of your content, unless you sync to iCloud. With no backup present, your content will be lost.

You cannot.
You buy one and only one download of movies. it is your responsibility to backup your purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

I am interested in purchasing "x" ITunes gift cards and shipping them to one of the countries in the Gulf like Qatar, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi. My question to you is, is that possible without running into any legal issues or so forth? I believe that if they are not old enough for an own account, it isn't possible.
If you really don't want to lie about their age, you could make your own account and let them use it. Be sure your bank account isn't linked to it, because little children tend to innocently buy all kinds off stuff. (you could use a iTunes gift card)
lying about age is quite common, Apple can do not much about it, but only, if your children see for them harming content, Apple can't be blamed.
If someone knows much better, you better trust him, I do not know most of these kind of things

Yes, the store didn't properly activate the card. That is an interesting question. If you are at the "age of majority", then why would you allow someone else to put restrictions on your device.. If it is a condition of your employer to use the device on their network services, then you allow it to use the device for their system. If you are under the age of majority, and your parents are requiring it, sounds like the parents care.
