Why do I get a Message "Unable to Open Book" and how do I fix it?

This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder to remove the file(s) that cause the problem.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I'm getting Error messages when I open FF4 and when I close it.

When I open FF4 I get the following message: "TypeError: Components.classes [componentid] is undefined." I click on "OK" and FF opens up with no problem. When I close it I get this message: "ReferenceError: m_caFXTBobj is not defined". I click on "OK" and FF closes and the message goes away. This just recently began happening. What does it mean and how do I fix it?

Go to www.macupdate.com and download Flip4Mac and Windows Media Player for Mac. With these installed, you should be able to see most videos on most websites. Oh - and you can get flash player there too while you're at it.

Getting Error message couldn't open XPCOM and can't open ANY pages

After load of updates were completed, I keep getting this Error 'COULDN'T OPEN XCOM' I can't open any programs or emails, Firefox won't open or IE. Have tried System Restore a number of times without any luck, even that doesn't complete successfully, starting to tear my hair out now.

This is usually a problem with a failed update that caused a corrupted installation that still has older files.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Why is vector point manipulation so picky in Illustrator CC and how do I fix it?

Since getting CC I have found the direct selection of points to be much more difficult than previous versions. With CS6 I had been able to easily manipulate points and curve handles with just the trackpad on my macbook but now, I always have to use a mouse and can barely get it to even select the right point, let alone edit it. I have to lock every object but the one i'm working on, otherwise it jumps to random points on other objects. Even then it's just about impoissble to get curve handles to do anything without clicking them 2 to 3 times.
How can I fix this? I really miss being able to work with just my track pad.

Thanks Skillrooster but I dislike solo mode because it hides the rest of the shapes. I almost always need to see how a shape is fitting in relation to other shapes and by hiding everything else Solo mode is only helpful once in a while. Do you know if there's a way to disable the hiding of other shapes, like hiding path and anchor lines with Cmd+H?
