Why won't my iPad 1 fully install iBook app ?

What happens when you try to install it ? Have you tried downloading it directly on your iPad via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it ? And/or tried a soft-reset of your iPad to see if it installs after your iPad has rebooted ?

These are all steps that have worked for some other users in the past. They may not work for you, but they are worth a try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Note, in event you were interested in Lion, that Mac is not compatible with Lion unless you misidentified it. Only MacBooks with machine ID 2,1 or later can upgrade to Lion (1,1 and 1,2 are earlier). The Machine ID is in Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info.

I spent 2, 1/2 hrs on chat with the service techs and even they couldn't figure out why when I try ti send messages the person's name comes up red and says they are not registered and a big red REMOVE is in the box. Thanks .Ralph. The problem is only on the iPad 2only. I have an iPad 1 as well and it never had the problem. The only videos that I have tried are you tube and the tutorials on apple.com. I have absolutely no problem on either of my laptops or desktop PC's. Only the iPad 2. I am a new Apple user, so not very familiar yet with the product, but this is an absolute deal breaker for me. With Apple's reputation I was not expecting any such problems and it is beyond my skill set to solve it. Very frustrating. Again, no problem with you tube videos. I don't watch movies, so am not a Netflix member and haven't tried that yet, only you tube videos and apple.com tutorial videos. I have to watch those on my laptop. Again, I found a fix to the you tube problem. It was a link to a site. www.youtube/html5. html5 video player trial that you click on and once done, the videos on the you tube app started working great. They were doing the same thing as the tutorial videos prior to that. No such luck with the other web videos, at least the ones that i have tried. Hope this is enough info and understandable. You might check out the html5 site. I didn't thoroughly understand why, but it worked. You may understand it better. I am a proficient user, but far from an I.t. Pro. I have read Many posts with similar problems, but no simple solutions and the ones I did try didn't work. Speed tested well. Channel is set to auto and always different than neighboring networks, usually channel 11. Tried disabling QOS as suggested....no good. I am completely stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Each step involved in updating to/installing iOS7 requires communication with Apple Servers. They are currently being accessed by millions. Please be patient and just keep trying. Or wait till the traffic on them has dropped.

Why won't my MacBook install new software updates?

When I click on Software Update it says "Install 11 items." Among them are iTunes 10.6.3, Safari, Garage Band Update, iPhoto Update and so on.
When I click "Install 11 Items" it doesn't install anything. It says I must restart my computer to finish installation. So, I restart. Afterwards it asks for my password, I figure for installations.
But nothing is changed, and when I click updates I get the same 11 program updates. This has happened at least seven times in the past seven tries.
Plus, my battery is stuck. It won't come out of the computer. Though the abve issue is most troubling.

Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) is a purchased product, you can get it from the Mac app store. If your MacBook can support it though you may want to wait and purchase Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) which will become available sometime later this month. It will also be a purchase, but it is not necessary to get Lion first, and it is going to be $20 rather than the $30 for Lion. You can find out if your MacBook will run it on this page.

I don't know why the installer is not performing as it should. It is highly unlikely that the battery has anything to do with your installation issues.

I just received my Macbook Pro 13" retina 2 weeks ago. I did a time machine restore and have now decided a fresh install of everything would be better since there are a lot of unnecessary programs and files from my previous macbook pro. I did the reinstall by pressing command+R on restart and reinstalled Mountain Lion and it installed 10.8.1. I then tried to do the Mountain Lion 10.8.2 update, which I previously purchased from the App Store, and it says it is not compatible with my machine. There is no newer machine on the market than mine, so why isn't the latest Mountain Lion compatible? Please help! My iPhoto and other iLife apps are no longer compatible with this OS and I want my Mountain Lion back!

You did it wrong. Do this:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
        the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.
The above should install 10.8.2 so you will not have to update.

Why won't my newly installed Premier Pro CS5.5 start?

I just had to have my PC overhauled with a new motherboard and decided to upgrade my Adobe software while I was at it. Installed the Production Suite today and when I try to start Premier Pro CS5.5 it acts like it is starting up, brings up the workspace screen but then just shuts down.
I've got an AMD Phenom II X4 840 Processor 3.20 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and am running Windows 7.
Photoshop and seval other of the Adobe Programs open just fine...though I haven't tried any of them out just yet...Premier Pro is what I need to use right now and so it's just par for the course that it isn't working.
Any ideas what the problem is?

Premiere Pro shut down...I didn't have a lot of time to try and work on this today but I did poke around trying to find the preferences and set about to pull up the event log before having to leave. I figured I would give it a look tonight...I opened some of the hidden files trying to find the preferences didn't have much luck...was about to figure out how to pull the event log (never done that before) when I happened to click on an old project file I had from my older version...and the program opened...even better it stayed open.
To my knowledge I did nothing at all other than look in some hidden folders. I have tried a couple of different times now to just open the program from the start menu and it works...now my firewire port is on the blink so I haven't had a chance to actually try the bugger out but I have verified that all seems stable...for now.
Thanks for the input...if I wind up having the trouble again I'll start with your suggestions but hopefully it won't come to that.

Download Windows 8 Media Center, install it, reboot the PC and after that retry downloading iTunes 11. Take care on the bit-version of the PC: 32 or 64 bit....

Why won't Flash CS3 install on my MacPro?

I've done three clean installs of CS3. Lots of crashing problems with FW CS4 and Bridge CS4, so I thought a fresh start would be helpful. Wrong. I'm NOT on Snow Leopard. MacPro, Intel, 4 gigs RAM. I did have Fireworks CS4 on my Mac, but it's all uninstalled. When I try to install the entire CS3 suite, Flash will not install. When I try to install Flash all by itself, it keeps asking for the Fireworks install CD, over and over, even though FW has been uninstalled. Then, ultimately, Flash doesn't install.
I tried to run the CS3 cleanup script, but the terminal won't take my password. I ran the CS4 cleanup script after I uninstalled FW, but it said there was nothing to clean up.
Please, can anyone help? I've spent SEVERAL hours on this. Even repaired permissions. I want to scream.

I had a scratched disk.
I did two things: I bought a disk repair contraption at Best Buy. Worked awesomely. Then I copied the file onto my hard drive and ran it from there.
This was NOT a seamless process, and I can't even remember everything I did to make it work (oh, and I had copied and pasted Fireworks CS4 to my desktop from my install CD, too, because it stopped recognizing my brand new license, and Flash CS3 required this FW CS4 file to be in the same location from which I installed it in order to make Flash CS3 install), but I FINALLY got it to work, after working on it for 6 hours, going to bed at 3am, getting up at 7:30am, and working on it for another 11 hours, including two phone calls for a total of two hours to Adobe's stellar support in Pah-kee-stahn, wherein I was given the wrong information from 3 technicians who, granted, *really* tried to help, but who couldn't even agree with each other on the fix - "Customer service will give you a link to stand-alone versions of Acrobat 8 and Flash CS3 that you can activate with your serial number," "No we can't. We'll have to send you a link to the whole suite." Except the link to the download wouldn't work when they checked it on their end, so they couldn't send it to me, and they would have someone call me back in 24-48 hours, then 2-3 hours (after I pitched a fit because I have to work - no work, no pay) - they didn't call me back. It's been over 24 hours, it's been over 2-3 hours.
And even so, it won't reinstall Acrobat because it says it's already been installed, even though I can't find it anywhere on my system - not in my applications folder, not in my emptied trash, not my various folders in the user library, not in the root library, not in the system library - nowhere. But it's there. In a ghost area of my system, apparently. So I had to buy Acrobat 9 just so I could work. Academic Superstore. Academic discount - NEVER stop learning! Even if you're 51.
I feel incredibly hostile toward Adobe. But their software is my bread-and-butter. I use almost all of it on a daily basis. It's going to be a long, long time before I trust Adobe with my money. CS4 Master Collection, that I was salivating over, that I was planning to save up for? I don't think so. CS5? Unlikely, until I have no other choice.
I would rather wait longer and get software that doesn't eat into my productivity with bugs and crashes.
That's okay. I've been venting away about this on Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn and a web development group I'm on. I can warn others. Funny thing is, I'm getting so many responses from people going through nightmares of their own with CS4. Only a handful of people respond with, "I don't know what you're talking about! My CS4 has run flawlessly!" Only a handful. So sad.

This sounds like these shows are in a HD format and are not supported on the iPhone 3gs. I would recommend downloading the SD version of these shows and then sync these to your device.
