Hi, my phone is 3GS, current iOS is 4.2.1, If I upgrade to iOS 6.0.1, would there be any impact? Any known issue? Perhaps yours is an iPhone 3G and not a 3Gs...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

i just upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios 6 not sure if it updated but now when i turn on my phone it says automatically that i need to connect it to itunes using the USB port but when i connect it it comes up as new hardware and cannot find a program/software for my device even though i have the latest itunes on my computer. i have tried reinstalling itunes but it still cannot find my phone and now i cannot use my phone as it is stuck on the sync to itunes screen

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5209 might help you. An iPhone 4 can airplay content from apps that support airplay and iTunes but it cannot mirror. If your game does not have airplay in the app you cannot mirror it to the apple TV so I don't know if you can play just the music. You should have no problem playing your iTunes over airplay though.

I've been weary about updating my iphone 3gs from ios 4 (4.3.5 to be exact) to the new ios 5. I didn't have a problem sitting on an older update untill my phone started acting up and the only thing to do to fix it is to do a restore. itunes is forcing me to update in order to restore (didn't used to do that untill the new itunes update came out a while back...makes me angry) therefore causing a bit of concern with me. I do recall how the 3G acted when the ios 4 came out, and my worry is will the iphone 3Gs do something simmilar or worse. What are the experiances you guys have had with it, both good and bad, I'm curious. Also is it a good idea to update the 3gs to the ios 5 or not.

Today I updated my stock iphone 3gs to IOS 5.01 from 4.3.5. All went well until I noticed that my apps had not be restored. I attempted to restore my phone in iTunes but now all I get is "There is a problem with your iphone" message appear in iTunes and on my device.
What can I do to restore the phone to working condition? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this. -
Syncing is really slow after upgrading my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 4.3.3.
After upgrading my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 4.3.3, syncing my iPhone takes 15 to 20 minutes. Prior to this, it only took a minute or two. It just sits on "Preparing to Sync" the whole time, an finally completes the sync after 15 or 20 minutes. My office 2007 Outlook locks up in "Office Outlook is Syncronizing Folders" right after syncing. I have to reboot the computer to get it out of this state. What is the problem here? Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it resolved? Thank you.

PLSS HELP ME OUT !!!!Sounds like your phone was hacked to work with any network. Doing the update re-locked it to the original carrier. All you can do now is contact the carrier it is locked to to see if they have an unlocking policy. Note that if it's AT&T they do not offer unlocking. otherwise find an un-activated sim for the original carrier and you can use it as an iPod.

I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5. All went well, then at the end, it asks me a few set ups (like language, Location, and WiFi settings).
After that, it attempts to activate, and fails, giving me the following error in iTunes: "There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate."
Problem is, there IS a SIM card in the phone, I tried taking it out, and putting it back in, tried with another SIM, tried the SIM in another phone, worked fine, just not the iPhone1!
I would appreciate any help!hi i had the same problem just wanted to know if you av heard anything
