in ituens at the top where you see the small icons for Music, Movies, TV etc when your device is connected you will see a small icon representing your phone or ipad etc popup click that and it will show you the usual interface for backup and syncing.
if that doesnt happen, like it didint for me initially, you should close itunes fully via task manager if you know how to do this and start it again with the device unplugged then plug it in after itunes has finished loading.

Your computer is connecting at 2.4 GHz because it "sees" that as the better quality signal where it is located. 5 GHz signals are absorbed by walls, ceilings and any obstructions much more quickly than 2.4 GHz signals.
Unless you are relatively near the AirPort Extreme and have close to line-of-sight between your computer and the AirPort Extreme, your computer will likely connect at 2.4 GHz.
Are you asking if you can "force" your computer to connect to the 5 GHz band even though it may not be the best signal?

How can I tell if my internet problem is caused by firefox, my computer, or my internet connection?

At certain times of the day (usually only late at night), my internet becomes unusable. The websites take so long to load that they just time out (or I give up). It happens periodically in the early evening as well (I just tried to watch a two-minute video and it took me half an hour). I can't tell if the problem is caused by firefox, my computer, or my internet. What can I do to determine where the problem is?

What do you mean by "clean"? If you are asking how to find out if the device has been blacklisted, the only way to know that would be to contact the cell carrier to whom the iPhone is locked, or if it's an unlocked iPhone by calling each cell carrier serving your area. The web sites that purport to be able to give you such information are not reliable.
If you're considering buying a used iPhone, you can't trust the seller and are not buying through a service that offers buyer protection, don't buy that iPhone.

Siri doesn't work without Internet.
I was in a situation yesterday, when i was driving and have to call my Dad.
Due to the bad weather, data services were down and when i used Siri to call my Dad's number, its just said "Siri not available, please connect to Internet"
I can understand, that for Weather details, Web search etc, Internet is required, but at least Siri should handle in-phone features like "calling, Texting etc", without Internet connectivity.

Even though it seems like Siri should be able to handle things such as dialing a number or dictating a text, an internet connection is required for Siri to function. There is currently not a way to get Siri to do otherwise.

You and your wife have separate Windows accounts, or do you share a single Windows account and just have separate email accounts?
Outlook Express -- the stand-alone email program shipped with Windows XP -- doesn't depend on Firefox except if you click a link in a message in OE, it will open in your default browser, which may be Firefox. Really should not be a problem to open/close Outlook Express whether Firefox is open/closed/installed/missing.
If you have switched to Outlook.com, the latest iteration of Hotmail, the situation may be different. If you are sharing a single Windows account, then you most likely are sharing Firefox and Microsoft probably does not let you be in two accounts at the same time in one Firefox session without logging out of one account and then into the other.

First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.

Here's the real problem.
Many things (in particular data features) on BlackBerry devices are controlled by something called Service Books.
The Service Books are pushed to the device from the service provider (carrier) once you have the proper BLACKBERRY Data Plan. A generic smartphone internet plan will not work.
However, if you are trying to use a Verizon BlackBerry on a service provider that does not support that specific device model number natively, you will need to MANUALLY load the generic Service Books from YOUR service provider. You will need to search the internet to see if the Service Books are even available (which they most likely are not).
Otherwise, you need to get a device that is NATIVELY supported by your service provider.
BlackBerry devices work differently from other smartphones.

Installed FF on my wife's work computer, in our gradeschool library. The network that she is connected to allows FF to be updated, but blocks extension updates. How can i download extensions as files, to a stick at home, to update her computer? Extensions used are AdBlock+, TabMix+, NoScript, ForecastFox, checkCompatability, and (since FF29) Classic Theme Restorer.
Both machines running Win7; FF28 at home, FF29 in the library.

<br>then you will end up with a .xpi file that you can put on a memory stick and install on the target pc by dragging the file into an open firefox window.
