yes you do. AT&T recognizes the phone as an iPhone on it's network. If you haven't signed up for a data plan, they'll make you get one.

hi, i'm new in macbook air, i was miss formatted and delete all my data on my external hard disk (pic, microsoft office document and etc). i spend 45gbp to install the software fianlly recovery all the data! but why my text document can't open and read?? what's is the problem?? because i'm still a student i hv alot of assignment file cant be read and open but nect week is the deadline of submission and i have no back up of all document. i used MiniTool Mac data to recovery! actually b4 tat i'm using hp computer and i saved all my files in my external hard disk. When i using mac i installed the NTFS-3G but it still cant read my external hard disk and i miss deleted and formatted all the data in my external hard disk. after tat my friends suggest me to purchased the software to recover all the data,finally i got all my photo back except my microsoft office files.
i purchased miscrosoft office software for my mac yesterday but the files still cant be read and couldnt recover back the document tat i saved! i was upset to spent alot of money but still cant get my document back!! -
I just got the new iPhone4s (my first time off of a flip phone!) with the imessaging but I'm not sure if that is going to use up my data plan if I use it instead of texts. If I'm at home on my wifi will that still take away from my data plan if I use imessage? I know that FaceTime works off of wifi as opposed to the data plan but wasn't sure if it was the same for imessage. I'm on the Verizon data plan if that matters.
Thanks!This weekend, the AT&T tower near our home failed. We had no AT&T cell service whatsoever. During this time, our home WiFi was always running at 100%. No iMessage would go through, nor could any iMessage be received. Both my and my wife's iPhone 4S were connected to the home WiFi and were used with it. Two things did not work: cell service and iMessage.
I think that iMessage seems to rely on the phone data plan, or at least the cell service must be in range to use it. -
My iPhone is having problems and I have to send it into Apple to get a fixed but in the mean while I need a phone. Could my old env touch act as a temporary replacement with the data plan? And if so how to I activate it with going to Verizon and once I get my IPhone back will I be able to activate it without going to the Verizon store?!? Thanks:)

How does the Family Share ask-to-buy notification determine which organizer's device to send it to? I keep receiving notifications on my iPad, but not on my iPhone. My iPad does not have a data plan so if I'm not on wireless, I don't receive any notifications.

Data plan! why??? whats the difference of me using Wifi or being charged for a data plan?
Feature phones iterally suck, even the internet pro reviews on the phones are very low and most of the feature phones that are reviewed the reviewer gives their last comment as "don't buy" .
I do not need a data plan, ( I carry either a Verizon netbook or a notebook for all my internet needs) nor am I comfortable with the charge of a data plan being necessary or is this simply another way for a large company with a large profit margin to stick it to the consumer knowing we have to maintain a cell phone in this day and age?.
I had settled on the KinTwo, the reviews are not glowing but .... r not that horrible either. It is also the only phone which gives the owner WiFi accessibility. (which makes me wonder if this is the reason Verizon has pulled it off the market). From my extensive research the KinTwo is the only feature phone choice. But..... When I went back to the site to order it was gone, and the VW stores do not carry it.

but t h is did not last for users started having problems with thier hands
they would often hit the wrong buttons and use data
sometims as little as a mb, sometimes many mb
verizon forums and customer service started recieving phone calls to get credits for this usage
after all its not the users fault is it? i mean are they responsible if they had the phone to a 2 year old to play with and the kid brings up the browser?
so verizon decided it was in its best interest to protect its users. they started requireing data plans so you wouldnt get hit with huge bills for being an idiot.

Using the Calendar/datebook when you don't have a Data plan.
Hi All, I just got a BB Curve 9320 model to replace my dead LG. I use the phone for my convenience only but I fondly remember my old Palm Pilot and it's wonderful Calendar application that let me keep track of my life and where I was supposed to be and when. I had hoped that the Curve would be able to do the same thing with it's calendar function. I thought that using the BB desktop and plugging the Curve into my laptop to enable them to communicate that I would have the same function as the Palm Pilot did in my previous life. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get this to operate as I had envisioned...........am I doing something wrong or without the data plan is this just not possible?

What is inaccurate is your expectation...what you expect is not a designed functionality...a few things to discuss...so bear with me...
Contrary to how others do things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a conduit software that functions as a bridge between your chosen PIM and the BB. See this KB for compatible PIM's:
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
So, to do what you desire requires the use of a desktop PIM to manage your data...choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, get your data into the desktop PIM. Then, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

Ok, it sounds like you are getting to the final step. (i.e., Your on your iPhone, showing a good Wi-Fi connection, you are using the App Store and have selected the App you want. The small Icon for your App is showing a bar at the bottom that has an open "fill bar" that is going to track the download and installation of the App. But at this point you get an Error Message. The Error Message Says, "?????" Try again latter? What?
Just for fun, try downloading the App while you and your iPhone are as close to the Wi-Fi Router as possible. Lets see if you are just experiencing a weak Wi-Fi signal. This can cause App Downloads to fail. -

No. You have no place for a sim card in the WiFi only iPad. You MAY be able to purchase a personal MIFI hotspot that will work with a data plan in another country. I have one here in the U.S. that I bought through Verizon, but I assume it will only work on the Verizon network here with my Verizon Data Plan. So you would need a data plan in the country in which you want to use the iPad if this option is available for you.

There are a number of ways that text can be extracted, but it may not be in the order that you'd expect or want. But if it's consistent in any case, you should be able to get at the content you're interested in. JavaScript can be used to loop through the "words" on a page, for example. I've used this approach for several projects that required data extraction.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

Why can I not load pictures from a micro SD 64gb using scan disk adapter plugged into an Apple iPad camera connection kit. I have the iPhoto app but pictures not being seen on iPad. So incredibly frustrating. Apple please fix this.
Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.
