HT5577 Forgot recovery, have ID and device, but outside of country

I forgot my recovery password but have my Apple ID and trusted iphone device. I cannot receive SMS because I am out of my home country currently and have another number. Is there another option until I return?
EDIT: During the two-step login process, if I click to send an sms to my phone number (the one from my home country), I am prompted to enter the 4 digits code. I can click an option saying that I didn't receive it and it states that it's possible to use it with find my device. I can't figure out how to do that, if possible.

I have an US sim and Brazil sim card. I cannot receive SMS through my USA sim while in Brazil, I've already tried roaming.
Additional info: Currently, I only need to perform two-step activation when I am trying to log in to manage my Apple ID account. I can log in just fine into these forums, into iTunes and my iPhone.
Here Apple clearly states that you can receive verification codes with Find my iPhone. I followed their link and have Find my iPhone turned on all of my devices. But there is no info stating how to actually send a verification code to your phone through Find my iPhone.
Again, when I am prompted to begin the two-step process, to "Verify my Identity" I have the option to send verification code to my phone number ending in -97. This is my US sim that I can't use. Or I can click "Unable to receive message..." to be prompted for the Recovery Code, which I don't have on hand. So I click to send to my -97 number and then am prompted to enter the 4 digit code, which I obviously won't receive, so I click "Didn't receive code?" and am given this message:
"I didn't receive my verification code.
SMS messages may be delayed depending on your cellular operator's coverage and other service interruptions.
If you continue having trouble receiving a code via SMS, you can try sending a code to one of your Find My iPhone-enabled devices."
So my ultimate question is, how can I send a code to one of my Find My iPhone enabled devices, either my iPhone or MacBook Pro?

The Kindle app has a menu on the very bottom center of the screen that allows you to switch from a device and cloud view. To remove a title from the device, tap and hold on it. a pop menu will apear that allows to add the title to a collection, remove it from the device, or download it from the cloud (depending on its current status).

My screen freezes after a few seconds on my iphone 5c and the display fades slightly so you can see faint lines in the background. I'm not sure whether this is easily fixable or a major problem. Have reset the device, but this has worked. Any ideas?

I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

I am currently using an ipad overseas to put photos to icloud whilst travelling. If I lose the ipad will i still be able to access the photos given I don´t have another mac device (but could use someone elses)? Thanks

Welcome to the Apple community.
Assuming you are logged into your iCloud account and have enabled photo stream on your device, then any photos you take on your iPad will be added to photo stream and can be shared to any device that is logged into the same iCloud account.
If while away, you lose your iPad, then upon your return you would need to log into your iCloud account on your girlfriend's computer and enable photostream, by doing this you would then be able to download all the photos you added to photo stream whilst you were away.

Bought a MacBook about 8 weeks ago. Had to reload it from scratch yesterday (Mac OS DVD's) after numerous issues surface (files disappearing, random crashes, etc.) Disk Repair/fsck didn't work.
Today I imported a bunch of pictures from a CD, went to edit some and post with IWeb, and got the error message above in my console file. I deleted all the pix and just reloaded them. (10.4.8 was not a positive experience for me.)
Love the Mac, but this is getting to be real work at this point.
I was a former Unix System Admin and spent 21 years in IT with AT&T, IBM, etc. Currently running 6.0.4. Fearing that my hard drive is having issues.

You mention the errors in Console. But what happened, visually, in iPhoto? Did it not send the photos? Not import the photos from the CD?
It's getting to sound like permissions restrictions are preventing iPhoto from doing what it normally does to photos - create thumbnails, export the EXIF information to its database. The last line seems to indicate that it couldn't find the link between the displayed thumbnail and the actual photo file.
Do you allow iPhoto to import into its iPhoto Library folder? (default) or do you have Copy to iPhoto Library turned off in Advanced prefs?
How did you import into iPhoto, specifically?
iPhoto makes a lot of assumptions and is finicky about some things expecially structure. It doesn't like things being done behind its back, i.e. though the Finder or through Terminal or anything else. Usually with that last Console comment, it's a strong indicator something changed.

Unless you want a new computer, forget about AVCHD. It requires too much muscle to edit comfortably on anything but the fastest computer.
What camera is nice, depends on your budget. Formats that are easy to edit are HDV, DVCProHD (P2) and XDCAM. In the consumer range you could look at the Canon HV40 or XH-A1s, in the prosumer range look at the Panasonic AG-HPX170, Canon XH-H1s, JVC GY-ND250 or Sony HVR Z5 or Z7 and all Sony XDCAM cameras, especially the EX1 and EX3. In the professional range look at the Sony PDW-F355 or upward.

Apple has every iOS posted and available for download for every iPhone including the Original iPhone very first firmware. Just type what you want into Web Browser and it is there. If you have trouble post back here.

If you are receiving a messages that says the maximum number of free iCloud accounts has already been created I'm afraid you won't be able to create a new account on your phone.
Each device can only create a certain number of iCloud accounts. Once they have been created you cannot create a new one. You also can't delete one of the accounts to allow you to create a new one. All you can do is either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account to use on another iOS device (running iOS 5 or higher) or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.
