You can only use a country's store if you are in that country and have a billing address in that country on your account - are you in the country that you want to buy content from ? If you are then you can update the billing address on your account to be your address there (if using a credit card then that will need to have been issued by a bank in that country) via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes.

As of the current version, I don't believe there is a way to tell the App Store app to ignore updates. You can send Apple feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/, but in short there is nothing you can do. As long as you don't try to update the app (either pressing the update button or update all), the app should continue to work fine with your data remaining intact. It has been a while since I've tried to update an app that isn't supported (last time was under iOS 3 or 4), so I can't comment about what would happen if you did try to update it. (My best guess is it will display an alert saying it is not compatible, and leave the previous version there, but not take away the 'update' in the APp Store app updates page).

Software Update is now operated therough the Mac App Store. I'm guessing that you have a version not purchased through the Mac App Store, but on DVD?

If I logout as one ID and login as the other, will it still retain all synced information on the PC from the first IOS device? If I can just log in out of the AppleID, then I have no problem doing that as long as the synced apps, music, etc stays there for both. I am not trying to copy from one to the other, just want to make sure I have a backup for the UhOh times. I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. Everything was fine until I downloaded apps to the ipad and noticed that the ones I had on both devices no longer opened on my iphone. Why is this? I've had an iPad for almost two years. When I purchased an iPhone last fall I set it up to use the same Apple ID as my iPhone. I've had no problems doing this. Try resetting each device and see what happens.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

If you don't have iTunes installed on your laptop then you can download and install it from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can then log into your account on it via the Store > Sign In menu option (on iTunes 11 on a PC you can get the menus to show via control-B) :
And you can then select the Store on the left-hand sidebar (you can enable the sidebar via control-S), and then browse items in the store and buy them by clickin on their price.

The answer is YES. with no problems. In fact you can connect up to FIVE units in one itunes (But no more). I have no idea why OR who was the FOOL, that picked only 5 units. This has set limitation on their own product. I currently use 5 Apple Tvs at work for a interdepartmental media network. It just runs slide shows and training video's. I needed 9 units up and running, So I have another computer just to pickup the last 4 units, and shared the file folders I run 5 units at home as well. However you have to leave that itunes up and running. The five authorized limitation is also a pain. Steve said he was dong away with DRM, I guess that didn't work out to well. In short, I run 5 laptops, 3 desktops, 1 Mac Pro, 4 Ipads, 4 Iphones AND one Mac Mini with server 10.5.6 for a family of 4. The FIVE number limitation is a major pain. Best of luck to you.

I have several hundred text files that contain a bunch of information. I only need six values from each file and ideally I need them as columns in an excel file.
How can I use Automator to extract specific Data from the text files and either create a new text file or excel file with the info? I have looked all over but can't find a solution. If anyone could please help I would be eternally grateful!!! If there is another, better solution than automator, please let me know!

Thanks for your reply but problem not solved. If I have reached page 5 for example, I can not go back to the previous page 4. Instead it goes back to page 1 when I use the back track arrows, gestures or the back or forward commands!! The girl at my local Apple dealer says that it can't be done. This should be a very basic browsing function in the App Store. I know other people have the same problem.

I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. You could try contacting iTunes support but I don't think that you will be able to use it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If you don't have a credit card then are iTunes gift cards available in your country ? They are not available in all countries and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue), so you won't be able to use those from another country.
