If you have already created the Apple ID, yes. You can add the card - it will authorize $1.00 (USD) which will be released. At that point, you can then change the payment method to None - Then done.

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

Apple ID won't let me finish my account without credit card info.??? There is no none selection this time.
They key to making the account without a credit card is to sign out of anything you have signed into.
You will need an e-mail you've never used with apple.
Then go into the App Store or iTunes and try to download something free. When prompted to enter your Apple ID, choose to make a new one and follow the prompts from there. You can then make the ID and get the 'none' option. -
every time i save my credit card info in my account on ITunes, it shows as saved and as soon as I go to buy something, it says I have no credit card on file and starts over again.
I don't mind having my card info on there but now I can't download anything and it's frustrating. All it ask for is the card security number and when I put it in it says it's invalid. So now while I'm trying to delete it, it just won't let me. The visa part stays checked all the time and I can't unmarked it. I tried to just erase the card number and security code and stuff but it says I have to have it filled in. Do you know how I can check to see if it says I owe money?

The iCloud seems to have the wrong credit card info on my mac
On my Mac Pro, I go to iCloud Preferences to try to change an old credit card reference.
Account details gives four choices, the last is "Payment". But the card it shows is obsolete. It has been changed. That account is no longer valid.
iCloud help says to press the "Manage" button, but all that does is give me options for buying more cloud storage.
The old credit card is in a box with zero options to interact with it.
So where in my account do I actually get to update credit card info?Thanks. I guess Apple has some pages to clean up. Their instructions are obsolete and their records aren't kept up to date. Confusing, that.

I just made a new Apple ID on my Dell xps 13 ultrabook Windows 8.1 Computer with intel core i5 processor. I open ITunes and sign in. it says "to review ITunes" so I agree to a document. Then it tells me to enter the credit card information. I click the bar to enter the number and it does not do anything! Please help.

We are offering a free gift to our constituents. So, what we need is a form that will allow users to either claim the gift and make a donation, or claim the gift and not make a donation. Ideally this is one form. Is there a way for users to fill out everything but the credit card info?

I am trying to set up a family sharing with a new iMac and other Mac pro computer and other apple products. When I click to manage account and the add a member, I am told to verify the user by entering the security code from the credit card. The card listed is an old one and has since been changed. I updated the info on my apple account, but it is not getting to the iCloud for the family sharing. The number shown is the old card. When I enter a code it says invalid. How long does it take for the info to udate to all systems?

Happy Holidays! The resource below explains how to edit the credit card information for the Apple ID account that you want to use for Family Sharing. Once you've made the changes, I would suggest you sign out of your iTunes Store on all of your devices, and then restart them. The changes should take place quickly. I used to have the same Apple ID on my phone as my dad. I got a new iphone today and i wanted to have my own apple account. So i got one and used the same credit card as the one i used before. I bought a lot of songs and apps but now when i type it in it says i never purchased it since its a different Apple ID. Is there a way i can download them onto my phone again? please help ;-;

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
