HT5622 Game says different Apple ID was used to purchase and cannot be used to purchase upgrade.. I only have one Apple ID

Cannot purchase next level on candy crush because it says Apple ID was not used to purchase app.. I only use this one app and I've purchased next levels before.. Help!

    We only have one copy of iTunes and we have been sharing the account. (She doesn't really use the computer for anything beyond writing the odd weekend assignment.)
    Would I be better off setting her up with her own and making her as a separate user on the computer? Would this require much work?
    In recent times with updates, we have a few problems with the duplication of texts and that sort of thing. Both of our texts are stored on the computer and that sort of thing. Also, sometimes texts I send her are sent through to me  from her, if that makes any sense.
    Anyway, I don't really want to overly complicate matters when it comes to accounts etc, but I wanted to know if a fresh Apple ID would be the best thing or even a new user?
    Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated

    Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
    It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
    since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours,  I dont know.......

    Please sign out of the iTunes Store by selecting
    Store ▹ Sign Out
    from the iTunes menu bar. Then sign back in.

  • TS2446 iTunes will not let me sign in with my ID, it asks me to use another ID but I ONLY have one? This is the first time that this has happened and as far as I am aware there are no problems with my account.

    Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466, and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

    I am trying to get my ipad2 to download purchases previously made from itunes. If i go to settings store and slide the automatic downloads for music to on, it says that this device is associated with another account and cannot be changed for 90 days,  i only have one itunes account and these settings are saved underneath. Any ideas?

    I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

    There are people here, but we are just fellow users on these forums, and it's not 'live chat'
    If you only have one email address then you won't be able to set a rescue email address as it needs to be different to the main address on your account. You should be able to create a free email account via gmail, hotmail etc.

    Sync your iPhone to iTunes, and see if that does the trick.  Also you could try a Soft Reset with no Risk to Data.  Holding down both the Sleep button and the Home button until the Apple logo appears and then waiting for the Reset to bring you iPhone back to the lock screen.    Are you trying to add the email at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive from (2 Addresses) your iPhone number and your email address?

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    It sounds like you may have created a new Apple ID and not edited the old one. Any applications that were downloaded from the old account will need the Apple ID and password from the account that downloaded them to update. You can either enter the password for that account or delete the applications and download them fresh from your new account to resolve this issue. Please refer to the following discussion for further information.

I never had this problem before the 10.5 update.  I have emailed their help panel numerious times and they never do anything that remedies the problem??  I only have one computer and one ID I just dont understand what the problem is. I use a 3G connection to download music and sometimes the songs are not completely downloaded too and when I cant redownload them its like a waste of money.. I am so discouraged!!!     I have a couple of articles that should be able to help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes first. This has to be done in a specific manner, and this article can help you do that:

    What exactly do you see when trying to buy a game, what messages do you get on-screen ?
    If it's an account that you've just created then unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method
    then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store. You should be able to remove the card after entering its details.

    If he has not previously set up Find My iPhone, there is no way to
    track the iPhone. Apple does not and will not track phones.
    Immediately change all passwords. Hopefully he was using a passcode
    to get by the lock screen. If he was, his data is protected; if not, anyone
    who finds the iPhone can access anything that was on it.

    The login parameter was a username, I'm an early adopter.
    I've set up a new account using an "[email protected]" email, but it doesn't solve the fact that I should have been able to reuse my normal email as the account associated with it was deleted (supposedly?).
    As for the sync errors, I keep getting them, but have narrowed them down to bookmarks syncing. I'll create another thread for that when I know more I guess.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
    Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
