HT5622 How can I switch the Apple ID that iCloud uses, if my previous Apple ID no longer works?
One of my family members got a new iPhone and set it up with the same apple ID that the rest of my family uses. Now we can no longer use this apple ID. We have tried changing the password but the security questions will not accept the correct answers and the authorization email will not send. I can't delete the iCloud account on my phone because you need the old account's password to deactivate find my iphone.
Cancel my question, please. I found the answer: delete the account, enter the new Apple ID and save data to device and merge data, and create a new account.

How can i change the default application that Lion uses to open a document?
how can i change the default application that Lion uses to open a document?
Right-click on the document, select Get Info... In the lower half of the tall window that opens is a section labeled Open With (you may need to click on the disclosure triangle to see detail). Select from the pop-up list which app should open this document. If you want that to become the default condition, click on the Change All... button.

I want to review content in a backup from a previous iOS device to decide whether to delete the backup from iCloud. I'm most concerned about keeping photos I took on the previous phone. Ideally, I would consolidate the photos to my current device and have just one backup in iCloud.
My current device is a iPhone 5s running 7.0.6, and my prior device was an iPhone 5. Not sure what version of iOS I was running, but last backup on that phone was march 2013.You cannot review a backup. You can only restore it to a device. You can see here what is backed up:

Here is the email:
Your Apple ID ([email protected]) was used to sign in to iCloud on a MacBook Pro 13". I had a MacBook Pro stolen in January and I'm wondering if someone was using that stolen computer to login??
Anyway to track the computer trying to log in using my other Apple ID?If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in System preferences>icloud), then you can try to track it. Using another computer's browser, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page. On a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app (get it for free at the itunes app store) and log into the icloud account. Note: The Find My iPhone **app** does not turn on the service, you can only do that through Settings>icloud.
If the mac is listed as "offline", then you can't track it. -

I tried to update the App that I purchased but the message told me that my Apple account is not valid for use outside of US and I must switch back to US store to able to do it. How can I switch the account from foreign countries back to US?
On your phone (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311):
Change your iTunes Store country
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information. -

How can I switch the region code on MBP w/ DVD drive for the 5th and final time?
How can I switch the region code on MBP w/ DVD drive for the 5th and final time? It brings up the window with that world map to do it, including the warning that "this is the 5th and final time I can do this", when inserting a DVD and opening "DVD Player", but it never executes my click on the "Change Drive Region" button prompt.
VLC or Quicktime Player won't play it either, but won't bring up that window to change Region Code anyway....
Otherwise, I'm not having any other issues with this MBP at all. Peak performance on all counts :-)
I tried resetting SMC after chatting w/ Apple Support, but it didn't help.
That was the link they provided. Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
Tried zapping PRAM as well.
Thanks for any clues, ReneRegion encoding is the mechanism that enables motion picture studios to control the worldwide release of their movies. It is required by the DVD Forum (http://www.dvdforum.org/forum.shtml) in all commercial hardware DVD players. Every DVD-Video disc contains one byte of data representing a region code, which limits where the disc can be played.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2397
Once you have set the region in DVD Player five times it cannot be changed. However see this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25416?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Instead, use VLC to view videos from different regions:

how can I remove the Apple ID authorization only on one computer and authorize another in his place?
De-authorize the computer in question.
Then authorize the new computer.
Or de-authorize all computers and authorize only the ones that actually exist. -
2 different iphones have the same Apple ID, how can I change the apple ID on one of them but not delete the other iphone's data and media?
You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices. -
I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have already tried deleting them and reinstalling them.
If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account -

My teenage daughter and i share an apple id on both of our iphones (2 phones both are 5s) . She now has an ipad with a her own apple id. How can we change the apple id on her phone so that is the same as the ipad and not loose any contacts or songs?
Did you take a look at the new feature Apple - iOS 8 - Family Sharing ?
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Up to now, songs bought from iTunes could only be played by the Apple ID that has been used to buy them.
If you set up Family Sharing, your daughter can also play your songs and use the same contact info as before.
If you don't want to do that, sync the contact info to the address book on your computer, and sync the info back, using iTunes:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB
If the iPad already has her Apple ID and contact info on it, restore the phone from the latest iPad backup.
