Purchases from the App Store are final. You will need a very good reason to cancel a purchase.
If there is a problem with an app you bought, check your Purchase History. There should a link to "Report a problem" wit the recently bought apps. Use that lin to contact the support:

The Terms of Sale for the iTunes store state that all sales are final. You don't mention why in your question, but you can contact iTunes support and state your reasons for a refund.

OK. I'm an idiot (with an IPad2).
I don't want to play games with other people but there was a chess board among the images for Games Center so I thought there was a chess program I could check out.
So now there is no point in me taking any risks and having my credit card info associated with Games Center, so how to I reverse my sign-up for games center and get my credit card info deleted?
I can't even find a way to edit the credit card info - and if I could I suppose they wouldn't accept a link to an incorrect number ...

Getting a credit for an App charged twice

I bought iBank from IGG Software and paid them on my Visa.I checked my Visa acct. Then another charge on my Visa came a day later for the same thing.
I clicked on billing inquiries,and a fellow tried to help but said he dealt only with iTunes. He said to contact Passkey Support,but I can't find them at all,at least, nothing to do with App Store App crediting.
Has anyone been successful getting a credit in a similar situation? And how is it done?

Well,what I did was download from the App Store to try out. I liked iBank so a few days later I went to IGG's site and paid for it there on Visa.I did not give my card# or any info to the App Store.All my info came from IGG,code and all.
Then App Store sends me this I agree with the added tax,so the only way I got billed twice was IGG giving

As with movement type 502, a return delivery to the vendor is entered without reference to the purchase order, but the goods issue is posted via an SD delivery

How do I install and work the speaktext for ebooks app?

I just downloaded the speaktext for ebooks, and I'm haveing a hard time understanding the instructions. I want this app to read the book while I'm doing something else.

I went into Disk Utility and into Erase and selected Mac OS Journaled and hit "Erase" (I hope that wasn't a big mistake.)
... it was only a mistake if the LaCie drive has multiple partitions on it. Sometimes they have a utiliy partition that I like to remove.
Then when asked whether I wanted to use Time Machine to back up everything on my Mac, I hit "yes". (I hope that wasn't a big mistake.)

So now the Lacie image on my desktop has turned from orange to green (Time Machine?) and is backing up 700,000 things. . .I just want to free up space on my Mac so I was thinking of moving my iPhoto library from my Mac over to the Lacie Hard Drive. Will I be able to still do that, given what I just did above? If so, do I just drag the iPhoto library icon onto the green (Time Machine?) icon on my desktop?
... if the LaCie has enough space this should be fine. You might run into problems later when TimeMachine starts to fill up your drive; iPhoto might start giving you errors if there isn't enough freespace.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

You installed the "Genieo" spyware/adware. There is an uninstaller, but as the developer is not trustworthy, you shouldn't rely on it. I suggest the tedious procedure below to disable Genieo.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc

How come although iPads are getting more powerful, the iOS apps from apple are so mediocre and just not that great? We spend all this money for the latest ipad and all we get is these $5 video and music apps from apple. Why create the iOS platform and only offer so so apps like IMovie and GarageBand ? While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
