  • How do i save my photos from iPhoto to a back up drive?

how do i save my photos from iPhoto to a back up drive?

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
If you only want to back the Photos"
    File -> Export

I have an iTunes account on my computer but cannot seem to save my photos or videos on that account from my iPad 2.  They seem to save to my documents on the home computer.  How do I save the photos and videos on my iPad to my home iTunes account?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
Pin order to share photos using photostream you need to log into the same iCloud account on both devices, videos are not included in photostream, but other third party apps such as Dropbox and video stream for iCloud can share video between your devices.

  • HT201317 How do I save my photos from iCloud to my computer

Hey guys I just got my new iPhone and I want to save my photos from my photo stream. I sold my old iPhone and forgot to transfer them to my laptop, luckly they were still in my photo stream. However, I don't know how to save the photos from my photo stream to my laptop. Can anybody please help me?

Save them to the camera roll on your phone by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.  Once they're in the camera roll you can import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • How do I import photos from my i-phone 4 to my home computer?

How do I import photes from my i-phone 4 to my home computer?

on PC, when your phone is plugged in to the computer, open up Computer and your phone will appear as any USB/external hard drive would. Then you can copy and paste on to your computer.  I am a little new to MAC and the only way i know how is to open iphoto and import from there. You can then select all the photos you want in in iphoto and drag them in to a folder that youd like to have them and they will copy automatically
    Hope this helps

  • How do i save a photo from the internet to my photo library?

I want to save some copyright-free photos and clip art to my photo library. How do I do that?

Most times you can simply drag the photo onto the desktop and it creates a file which you can then move elsewhere.
Some websites don't allow their photo's to be used.
However OS X has a neat trick, simply hold
    command shift 4
and a cross hairs appears which you then can take a snapshot of anything on the screen just about, even upload it here with the camera icon.
there is also command shift 3 which takes the whole screen.
there are a bunch of others, like to take a picture of the current window etc.
Finally Quicktime allows video recording of the whole screen, for recording segments you may need something like SnapZPro X still.

  • How do i save a photo from iPhoto onto flash drive using new lion software

Trying to save a photo in iphoto (using new lion software on my mac) to a flash drive.  There is no save button and can no longer just drag the photo into the drive.  Any ideas.

You can select the thumbnail and type Command+C to copy it.  Then click on the Desktop and type Command+V to paste it.  That will get you the latest version of the photo in iPhoto.
However, you should be able to drag the photo to the desktop.  Launch iPhoto with the Option and Command keys held down and rebuilt the library with the first and last options selected.
If that doesn't do the trick use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions.

  • HT4528 How do I transfer the photos from my iPhone 4S to my Windows 7 computer or any other system that can hold 2,500 photos?

Basically, I took a ton of pictures at past concerts, formal events, etc. So I need something to transfer all of those pictures onto. I currently have 9.1 GB of photos in my iPhone which really limits me on phone space. I would like to save these photos, they are very important to me. Also, I tried this before on my Windows 7 computer but it only downloaded 850-some pictures. I figured that was from the space left on the computer, but I'm not sure. If you could help you will be my favorite.

I doubt it was space left on the computer, unless you have space problems. You would use the Import feature in Windows 7. You can also try accessing it in Windows Explorer, open the device, open the folder and drag the photos over. Because you have so many, you may run into some difficulty, because the photos should be imported regularly in case something happens to the phone. That many photos also probably makes it difficult to backup, or at least take a long time to do it.

  • HT1349 how can I get the contents from my I pod on to my  new computer apple library

My old computer broke down with everything on it. Now having a new one I don't know how to get my music and photos on my new apple library on my current computer. I would appreciate any ideas how to achieve this without loosing anything from my I pod. Thanks

Music is intended to go one way: from your computer to the iPod. Going the other way is contrary to the design and is not trivial.
If you had a Mac and its hard disk failed, you would use Time Machine to restore its contents to a replacement disk. A disk failure would be a non-event. If you replaced your Windows computer with another Windows computer another failure is just a matter of time.
    See this old post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022
Since it is so dated some of the links may not work.
iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads etc) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
