There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

Open iTunes, go to the Store Menu, select 'Authorize This Computer' and follow the directions.

For a computer running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

Create a dummy contact on your new PC in Outlook.  In iTunes, elect to synch your contacts with Outlook.  You will be prompted to "merge" your contacts.  Once done and all your contacts are on your computer in Outlook, you can delete the "dummy" contact.

  • What does it mean when my ipad is in Recovery mode? It's connected to my imac for software update and it says I must "restore" the ipad before itunes can be used. Will I lose everything on my ipad?

What does it mean when my ipad is in Recovery mode? It's connected to my imac for software update and it says I must "restore" the ipad before itunes can be used. Will I lose everything on my ipad?

Unless you have a backup from which you can restore, yes you will lose all of your data and settings.
You should be able to sync your content back to the iPad if you have been syncing with iTunes all along. If you don't sync with iTunes, you can download much of your paid content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. This explains downloading past purchases.

Unfortunately, at this point, you must restore the device before you can move on. There is nothing you can do to avoid it now.

  • I must authorize my computer before download previous purchase? what should i do next?

I just download Itunes in a "new Computer" but each song only plays for 1.30 minutes , so I understand that I have to place it i nthe cloud , when I try I git this winodw that says: you must authorize this computer before download previous purchases.  Doesnt show me what do I have to do next

You can authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (if you are using iTunes 11 on a PC then control-B should get the menus to show)
    e.g.
You can't put songs into the cloud yourself unless you subscribe to iTunes Match and upload them from your computer's iTunes to it. If you want to redownload your iTunes purchased music then you might be able to via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (redownloading music isn't possible in all countries) :
Or you can copy your library from your old computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Or from your backup (File > Add To Library)

  • Message saying I must authorize my computer

The last few days, when I go to iTunes, it tells me I have to authorize my computer or they are removing 120 songs from my iPod. Then when I click 'authorize' I get a message saying there's been an error in the iTunes store and to try again later.
This computer is authorized so I don't know what the problem is in the first place, but also everytime I try to authorize just to get rid of this hassle, I get the error message about iTunes. So,they say I have to authorize, but they won't let me authorize.
    How do I fix this?

I'm having this exact same issue! I just bought a new imac and transferred over from my older one. Since then I get these messages. I only have two computers authorized. I deauthorized from the older one.I have two apple ids, one was able to authorize, with the other one I consistently get the same message you refer to. Also looking for answers.
