HT5624 I just updated the software on my iPad and now can't get all the open files to close as I used to in older version. When I double-click the round button, the open programs show up, but I can't hold down to have the "x" appear to close them. Help.
I just downloaded the updated software and now can't shut down open programs like I used to by holding downthe round button, having them appear at the bottom of the screen, holding them down for the "x" to appear and then closing them by clicking "x". I can get the program icons to appear, but don't know how to shut them off now.
Swipe up or drag up on the app window to close the app.

just downloaded an update to the game hexagong and when i started to play it it wouldnt move off the first screen any suggestions on how to fix this?
1. Double-click the Home button to close all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close Apps

Just updated to iTunes 10.2.1 and now can't add any new songs.
My MACbook is running 10.5.8 and just last week I updated to iTunes 10.2.1 but now I can't add any new songs at all. I go through the motions but when I check the "recently added" checklist, it's blank. The song is never added to my iTunes library. Is there a fix for this?
RESOLVED.
I tried updating iTunes to 10.2.2 thinking this might somehow help me but same situation. Upon further investigation, the set of MP3s I was trying to add didn't have the typical MP3 logo on them. When I tried to delete them from my system, it said "in use by application". I forced a delete. I copied the MP3s again to my MACbook and this time was successful in adding them. Looks like it was a bad set of MP3s and not iTunes. -

So I did some automatic updates on my iTunes on my Mac today. When I synched my phone the new updates were there but my content in no longer on my phone, just my desktop. My content contains a lot of bought materials, but my own CD library as well. How do I get my iTunes content back on my phone???
Go into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTUnes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes.
There seems to be a glitch with the update where it doesn't seem to get everything updated so you need to get rid of it all and start fresh. This is just the programs, it won't affect your data. (as in when I did it it didn't touch my iTunes library) -

First time to download a movie,. I looked in the downloads section of iTunes but it only has my music....

I just updated my itune on my PC and now it doesn't start. There was no error in installing/upgrading the software but once I rebut the computer the icon appeared but it wouldn't start the program. Did I loose all my music and data? How can I fix the problem? Thanks
Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
* Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
* Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear. -
I connected an external monitor to my MacBook Pro, but it doesn't open any programs. It Just sits there with a blank screen. How do I get it to open programs and act like a monitor?

It sounds like you are trying to get your external monitor to act as the primary viewing screen. For example it would have your Doc, Icons, Etc. In order to make the external monitor the primary screen you have to:
Open System Preferences.
Choose the Displays Icon
There will be several tabs to choose from pick Arrangement
Drag the toolbar to desired display

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. -

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
If this does not work, set it up again as new device, without using the latest backup afterwards.
