HT5625 Got my iPhone back from service, now it's connected to an unknown Apple-ID.
I forgot the passcode for my iPhone, and sent it to a shop for it to reset. Now as I open it, I have to log in with an Apple-ID I don't know of. Is there some way I can reset the whole phone and disconnect it to the Apple-ID?
YOu have to take it back to that shop and have them remove the Apple ID and password. That cannot be bypassed by anyone but the person to set those up.

I agree with wjosten. Sounds like a sim card issue. Was your sim card removed from a working,activated phone? I've switched sim cards in an iphone multilple times and never had a problem. You might try removing the sim card and reinstalling.

Just got my iPod back from service...now what???
I was forced to send my iPod in to be serviced, due to the Folder/Exclamation Point Error.
I just got it back today. Now what? How can I make this iPod, which is not my old one, but a completely new iPOd, work with my iTunes?

Assuming you have a good connection you simply download and run the latest firmware updater from this site. Retore the iPod (which will format it for your PC) and then completely resync it with iTunes and you're good to go. -

Well your phone isn't screwed? Take it back to apple and have them repair it by adding the missings screws. Perhaps the technician had a bad hair day.

Just got my Nano back from service and.....
I just sent my 2Gb Nano into Apple care and got it serviced. I just got it back and got a completely new Nano. My problem is that this one has a white screen and I havent dropped in or done anything, except plug it into my computer and install it on my computer. I was wondering if I had to send it back in again. Thanks.
Dell Windows XPFrom what I was told by one of the forum Mods a while back, Apple engineers have determined that this is caused by not allowing the firmware update to finish the installation before disconnecting the iPod. Try these steps.
Reset the iPod.
If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode.
How to put the iPod into disk mode.
Now connect the iPod to the computer. This step may immediately take you to the iPod's normal display screen. Reset the iPod to exit disk mode.
If you still have the white screen, then you should use the updater to restore the iPod.
Wait until the restore has finished before disconnecting the iPod. If you're unsure, wait at least 20 minutes (it's probably overkill but best to be sure). In my experience, the software updater for version 1.1.1 (and later) takes longer to complete the process than previous updaters.
That should cure the issue.
If however it doesn't, and your iPod is still non responsive (doesn't reset, nothing on the screen or button presses don't work), then it will have to be sent away for service.

Just got my Ibook back from Service... How should I copy everything back?
My Ibook's HD died so I sent it to Apple to get it fixed. Luckily I had backed up everything before I sent it in. However, I didn't have any kind of utility to back everything up nice and tidy. Instead I just copied my user folder into the external HD.
How do I neatly return all my music, photos, and other apps back into the newly fixed Ibook????Hi jonomo, iTunes & iPhoto are fussy about how things are put in their respective libraries so it is better to import them from within each application. Direct each app to where the files are to import.
If the applications that you backed up had installers, rerun them, otherwise drag them from the folder on your external HD into the applications folder on your new internal HD. (You did back up the apps too, didn't you? They wouldn't normally be in your 'home' folder.)
Documents too, just drag & drop.

Hi there, I would like to know how to unlock Optus iPhone 5. I got an iPhone 5 from Optus new phone is only 2 months old and the phone is on 24 months contact . Now I tried to unlock but I can't unlock if I can unlock my phone so I can use in oversee next week. Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Why do you think they would do so before you complete the terms of your contract? I don't know specifically what their policy is, but most carriers won't do so unless they are legally required to.
If you didn't want to use Optus, why did you sign a contract with them? -
i got my iphone 4 from the uk and my service provider was 3...i moved to india recently...my os version is 4.3.5 (8L1)...is it possible for me to unlock my phone??
The OS version makes no difference to a carrier unlock. 3 do unlock their handsets but you will need to contact them to check the terms they will do it on.

I have an iphone 4s and was restoring it from a back up and now all i get is and unknown error occurred (29) halfway through the restore. Any ideas on what I can do?
Your error is connect to hardware, try these steps to solve it:
Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

In order to allow it to be used on a different carrier, the phone was hacked or jailbroken. An unauthorized modification was made to the phone. That modification has damaged the phone. You can not get support for it here or from Apple. -
My hard drive went and when i got my computer back from being fixed my itunes had been deleted, so i re installed it however my ipad wont connect to the itunes as its not registered to this itune, also all my songs arent on here what do i do?
There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4". Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files. Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen. Do you not have a backup? The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear. -
Back from service, case doesn't seem right
I just got my macbook pro back from service, maybe a week or two ago. Since its been back I've noticed the case really doesn't seem like its fitting together right. I've got gaps between various pieces of the case and have parts that don't really fit flush anymore. It wasn't like this when I sent it out
If I call apple do you think they'll fix it? They could easily just ignore it and blame it on me, but it definitely wasn't like this when I sent it off, and the more I look at it the more it really seems put together wrong.I'm guessing that there is a gap on the front of the machine where the bottom case fits with the top case (the part with the keyboard & trackpad).
Once the unit is popped open, it doesn't close quite like it did when it was first assembled. That's because there are 4 clips that are on the front inside lip that get slightly worn when the machine is popped open. I'm also guessing that there is a glue of somesort that is run lightly around the seams to ensure flush enclosure.
There are stories that even without servicing that these gaps form after time.
If you go and demand that apple fix it, they will. They will have to replace the top and bottom case. This fix could take quite a bit longer as it would need to be sent out to the depot. All of the innerds need to come out to replace the bottom case. But...they'll do it if you demand it.
