HT5625 Here's my story: I "signed out" of my account on my IPAD. Then I DID NOT hit "create a new ID" - I simply filled in the top information with new email and password (the ipads new owner) - this got all set up but now when it wants to update anything
I gave my second IPAD to a friend.
I also recently changed the email associated with my own account
because I will be moving and will be unable to use that address much longer...
now I am not yet sure I can update my own apps (will it ask for old email and password?)
on the given IPAD - with the new Apple ID and password it is asking for
my present but soon to be disabled email with password - but it does not
recognize the password (i dont think it will recognize it when i upgrade as well!)
QUESTION
How do I straighten this mess out to be able to update all future apps on two
iphones and two ipads each having one different their separate Apple IDs?
and how can I get it to recognize the password that was at one time associated
with that email address

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If your friend wants to be able to manage apps on their device using their own Apple ID, they will need to delete all the apps purchased using your Apple ID and buy their own.
Hopefully, you just updated your own Apple ID with the new email and didn't make the mistake of creating a new Apple ID. If you created a new ID, stop using it now, don't buy anything using it and go back and update the ID under which you purchased your apps.

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

I now have a new I pod touch 4 8GB and still am using the find my iphone in the icloud for the 1 I lost, what I need to know now is should I use my itune account I have now or set up a new account with a different email and password for my new ipod? at this point I don't know what to do
As lllaass said, change your password. Go to http://appleid.apple.com, click Manage Account, click Password & Security.

It sounds like you may have either set the iPhone up as a new iPhone or restored from a backup that didn’t have your messages on it. If you do have either an iCloud or iTunes backup that you believe has your messages saved, you can restore from that backup to recover your information. Are you referring to 2 iTunes accounts/Apple ID's? If so you can't, all purchases are tied to each Apple ID so if you need to say reload an app or update, it would be with that account.

I have just updated my ipad to 7.0.2 but now when I want to watch a download on BBC IPLAYER when I am off line it will not play the download.

If you updated from 2003 that must be on a Windows machine, can you recover them from there?

Did you rent the movie on your iPad? Are you trying to watch it on your iPad?
Do you have WiFi connectivity when trying to start viewing the movie?
You should have answered "yes" to all the above. If not, that is probably the source of your issue. -
I recently took my imac in for a recall on the hard drive, they replaced my hard drive, i used time machine to restore all my files. Now when I turn time machine on it says back up failed not enough space, it is not overwriting old back ups. Why? Please help

Hope you are doing well and sorry to learn that you are having this issue.
Taking into consideration the security of your data and your own, every time that email is reset is locked for 6 months.
I see how that can an inconvinience in your situation but remember the purpose of that in my modest opinion is to protect data that is send to you and you to that email to print, A good example.
You changed the email a week ago told your relatives and they forgot and they sent information confidetial or private information met to you but I choose the email you had last week and I get a hold of this information.
This is why I think HP make the decision of Automaticly locking the old email as soon is changed.
What you can do to keep it as close as you can you from the one that you had previously is to add a number or another lettter to the old one and communicate the changes to your allowed senders.
Hope this gives you a good explanation and an alternative;
