HT5628 How to recover my MAC OS X Mavericks?

I bought Mac book pro retina 13' in jan 2014. yesterday I tried to install windows 8.1 using USB disk image, I gone through the instructions using boot camp. I partition the MAC disk  allocated 60GB for windows 8.1, then it was restarted and start installing windows. Just before finishing this installation process my Mac book was fell down by my baby, the USB pendrive bent and stoped the process and restarted windows 8.1 with no network settings. I am not able to open MAC OS X mavericks even i restart its opening windows 8.1 only. even in windows 8.1 desktop no internet (wi-fi), touch pad is not working for right click, lot of problems. I have no back up for MAC OS X mavericks. what to do to get new OS X mavericks.

Try holding the Alt key whilst booting. If Macintosh HD shows up try selecting that.
Failing that, in Windows install the Windows Support drivers and in the system tray you should see an icon for Bootcamp (it may be hidden). Click on that and select reboot in OSX.

Press the command and r keys when turning on your Macbook.  Do not release those keys until you see the apple logo...
Disk Utility will pop up.....Your choices are to reinstall, you will not lose anything....
if however, you decide to format/erase your drive, then reinstall, you will lose everything...
suggestion - back everything up and do a clean install.

  • How do i uninstall Mac OS X Mavericks?

Hi can anyone help me get rid of this update?  None of the applications that I use work and I need to go back to the previous update.  Can anyone help?  PLS

You would have to erase the drive and install an earlier version or restore your backup. Or you could give this a try. Be sure the applications with which you had problems have been upgraded for Mavericks.

    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • AirPort card has disappeared how to recover on mac os x 10.5.5

    Hi all,
suddenly my Airport card has disappeared.... how can I get it back? I tried to restart the mac with opt command R-P but nothing... can some one please help this desperate mac user?? thank you so much.

In addition to running Hardware Test as suggested by Jolly Giant, have you tried reinstalling the 10.5.5 combo update?
As a side issue, is there a particular reason that you have not upgraded to 10.5.8? This might be a good time to do so.

I have a WD Passport HD attached to my Mac. When it was last connected it went into sleep mode and ran out of battery. Now I cannot find my HD in Finder and Disk Utilities is telling me it cannot repair the HD. I can see the HD but the volume part is greyed out. Any ideas on how to recover my data?

There are other methodologies of scanning a HD
which involve data extraction, but loss of metadata is often the result if the directory is corrupt.
Metadata is the info on what the data IS.
Like having all your papers thrown in the air, its all there, but just a giant mess.
This is why you always always must have several external HD redundancies of your data.  One isnt enough, neither is two really.

  • How to recover lost files from ipad on mac

I have stored many videos, contacts, notes, music files and more on my ipad. Unfortunately, I lost my some files on it owing to my wrong operation. Now I am
looking for the ways how to get them back quickly, but it is failed. If you are familiar with this problem, please continue reading to give me some clues about how to recover these lost files from iPad on Mac computer? 100 coins will be added!

Firstly, you can rely on iCloud or iTunes to recovery iPad data, such as recover deleted text messages, photos, notes, restore iPhone contacts, after all, it is free.
    1. Connect your iPad with iTune on computer
    2. Right-click or control-click on the iPad icon under iDevice on iTunes
    3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options
    4. After it finishs, your contacts are back to your iPhone
Important Note: This works only if you have made a backup for your data on iTunes.
In case that the iCloud or iTunes cannot help to make a iPad Data Recovery, you can turn to a third party tool.

  • Due to reinstallation of mac 2nd partition is nt showing how to recover the partition and data

Due to reinstallation of mac 2nd partition is nt showing how to recover the partition and data

If you have no backup your only option is to perform incomplete recovery (point-in-time recovery) to the time just before the drop, export the table and then restore the database (for example, from a cold backup taken just before the incomplete recovery,) and import the table. This obviously requires a full backup
taken before the drop which you don't seem to have, so the answer is "regrettably no."
    If you have a backup;
Take backup of ur current db, apply previous day backup, do point in time recovery to get table back, export table, shutdown and apply latest backup, import table back

Appcleanser ?? Do you mean Appcleaner?
You do not need this type of software. All they do is mess up your Mac. Since you have Apple Care it might be a good idea to take your Mac in - not just call - and ask them please to check out what else might have been messed up.

Hi, I have Mac Book It currently at 10.6.8 I want know how to recover the FileVault Password? I tried /Library/Keychains/FileVaultMaster.keychain but it say permission denied when i'm the admin account

    Hi BobRz,
As this is a new issue for me, I believe I had the incorrect approach, maybe you can help me. What I want to do is recover a few files in my desktop, and some information i had on the iCal application and the Mail application as well.As I do not want to do a full migration into this computer (which is not mine) I believe that starting the damaged MBP in Target mode should allow me to search and cop the files I need. But:
    1. Can I open the Ical and mail apps to look for the info I need while reading it as an external HD  ?
    2. Do the target machine (my friends) still need to be updated to ML o Mavs so that it recognizes my MBP as an external drive if starting it in Target mode ? (no migration assistant)
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.
Do you still have the downloaded files?
Did you buy from the Adobe Store? If so, they should have a record, and also the link for download, if you did not backup those files. Remember, there are two - the program, and the Additional Functional Content, which can ONLY be installed after you have installed the program.
    Good luck,

  • How to recover Deleted file from HARD DISK

I had given my this hard disk to my service engineer to recover the video., he has tried and recover some 40 mb file., but I cant open this recovered video file in Premiere or any other video convertor programme., also I cant get any information about Video.
Can anybody in the forum help me and suggest how to recover my deleted Video from the Hard disk

Hi, hard disk data loss is actually a hard task for many users 'cause most of them think this kind of problems is a complicated situation. Here are some tips you need to know after data loss happened.
    1. If you meet the file loss situation, keep calm and stop using your computer to do any read or write operation until you find the way to recover the lost files because any wrong operation.
    2. If you've lost a file, time is of the essence. As new files saved to Mac hard drive or storage devices, the original files gets overwritten. So do not use the drive or disk which your deleted files are stored before at all, until you have completed the scanning and recovery process.
    3. The system crashed or the files loss situation happens occasionally, so remember build a backup for the files periodically is strongly needed.
    4. If you meet the file loss situation again, stop using the Mac or storage device right now, use another computer to process the files recovery.
    5. Remember this, no matter at the normal time or after files recovery, build a backup for the files periodically is the best method to protect your files from data loss situation.
