i have installed windows 2011 and whe opening excel only it comes up as an error
i tried to reinstall but the same error came up
i can use publisher and word but cannot open excel

Are you saying you installed Windows or you installed Office for Mac 2011. There is no Windows 2011. Maybe you mean Windows Server 2011. Let us know what you have and what you did.
And, are we to guess the error that you say comes up?
You posted in the Bootcamp forum. You might want to post your Office for Mac question, if you are indeed asking about Office for Mac 2011, in the Office for Mac forums. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac?auth=1

Read and follow the Bootcamp Installation instructions that you were offered to view when you ran Bootcamp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to download the Bootcamp Support software. Follow the instructions. Then boot into Windows and install the Windows Support software you downloaded and saved.

  • Can i install windows 7 and OS X together on the same Mac Book Pro?

can i install windows 7 and OS X together on the same Mac Book Pro?

You can do it either using Boot Camp or by running a virtual machine, such as Parallels Desktop (which I use) or VMFusion. I prefer the VM method, as I don't have to reboot using the handful of Windows applications that I use. And I can access my Windows apps just as I do my Mac apps - copy and paste between them, etc.
I just upgraded from Parallels 7 to 8 and I'm quite happy with it, running Mountain Lion on a late 2011 MBP with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. I also have a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display and there are no problems with video drivers, etc.
If I were you - unless I needed every inch of performance that running Boot Camp can bring - I'd go with a VM to run Windows. I can attest to the functionality of Parallels - perhaps others with experience with other VMs will chime in.

  • Help installing Windows ME and other programs on my K7N420 Pro

I've got this issue where I've tried to understand why some of my programs don't work when I try various installation routines for my PC. Here's what I have:
    CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    Memory: 192
    Graphics: GeForce TI 4600
    Sound: Creative Live MP3+
I have the following pieces of software:
    Windows 98/ME/XP
    nForce system drivers
All original drivers for my graphics/sound cards.
At one point I was able to run any game demo on my PC before I had to reformat my PC; every since I've not been able to get any demo to run; of course all of my other games/applications run fine.
I've also had issues installing the nForce drivers. I've installed them right after installing Windows ME and after updating ME, mostly things are OK but there are issues.
If anyone has any advice on what programs to install and when I would be very appreciative. Please email me anytime at: [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Christopher

I guess my first question for wonkanoby is, in which order should I install the drivers after I have Windows ME installed?  My second question is, after those drivers are installed, what next, install the sound card driver? Oh, and when should I install the updates for ME?
I also agree that I should be better off with Windows XP but every time I've installed it, I've had horrible system performance. For example, every game I have installed that works great under ME is slowed under XP.
I currently have "Age of Wonders II" and "No one lives forever 2" installed on my PC and only AOWII is currently -- NOLF2 freezes on the first load screen. The demos that I'm trying to get working are "Unreal Tournament 2003", James Bond Nightfire", and "Asheron's Call."
I also got the latest Live Driver 2 from MSI and used it to get the latest nForce drivers.
The reason I had to initially reformat my PC was due to a virus that got to my boot record.
    thx,
    Christopher

[nVidia Series] Installing Windows Vista and drivers

    hello welcome to the forums
do you mean that you have a windows xp that came as a part of a lenovo system?and you want to upgrade it to vista using vlite or your own customized vista installation right?i think you must be quite familiar in slipstreaming service packs into windows installation discs and ofcourse you can also include drivers and all stuff like wallpapers if you like!
if you have further quiries regarding slipstreaming service packs go through the link given below
    http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/xpsp3_slipstream.asp
if you are confortable with slipstreaming you will be able to slipstream lenovo's drivers into the iso image
    Cheers and regards,

  • Trying to install itunes on windows vista and get the following error message:

Trying to install itunes on windows vista and get the following error message: An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKey Token="1fc8b3b9a1e3b",process orArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070424.

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can install a 64-bit Windows 7 or Vista version in your Mac. Make sure you downloaded these drivers > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630 Also, if you have the Snow Leopard DVD you used to upgrade your Mac or the OS X DVD that came with your Mac, you can use it to install the Boot Camp drivers

I have usb driver in may macbook pro 15 retina. When I installed windows 7 and try to download windows support into a CD, boot camp always said it couldn't find my usb driver. My mac version is 10.8.3

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Install the Windows support software from the USB drive. Note that Boot Camp Assistant, in OS X 10.8.3, doesn't support the option to burn the Windows support software into a disc.
Instead, you can try a different thing. Start in Windows and download the Windows support software in it > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638 Then, decompress the file and run the Boot Camp drivers installer.
If you can't access to the Internet in Windows, start in OS X and download the Windows support software from the same link. Decompress the file, right-click the folder which will show up after decompressing the file and select "Burn". Finally, start in Windows and install the Boot Camp drivers

Trying to install windows 7 and getting error message Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows partition in FAT32 to make the Windows XP installation easier.
The problem is that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 require a NTFS partition, so the Windows installer gives this error. The only thing you have to do is to choose the BOOTCAMP partition in the installer and go to “Drive options (advanced)” > Format. Finally, install it

  • I installed Windows 8 and now my ipad does not show in itunes...any thoughts?

I installed Windows 8 and now my ipad does not show in itunes...any thoughts?

Not trying to start any argument here, but if you would have checked the requirements for using an iPad with iTunes on a computer, you would have seen that Windows 8 is not supported.
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access6
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
    Download iTunes at www.itunes.com/download

  • Installing Windows ADK and MDT 2013 without Internet

    Hi
    I have Windows 8.1 Update 64 bit
    on a computer without Internet.
I would like to install Windows ADK
and MDT 2013. What's the proper procedure to
    do this?
    Thanks
    Bye
    Balubeto

You need to download the pieces from an internet-connected machine.  They can they be copied (USB or whatever) to any machine, even those without an internet connection, to do an installation.
To get the necessary ADK pieces, download ADKSETUP.EXE and run it on the internet-connected machine.  It will offer an option to download all the rest of the ADK pieces (make sure you select the right components) into a folder you specify.
The MDT installation is a single MSI file.
