If you keep the entire iTunes folder as it was and you're still using the same platform, you'll be able to keep all your playlist and metadata.

Well, iTunes will only transfer content from the computer to your iPod. However, there's some ways to get around this. Read this carefully:
If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account." The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases. It is also used with iCloud. iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod. If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes. There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked). If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod. When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library. Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want). Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs. Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists. Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod.

Or you can do it manually:
upload the file to Acrobat.com
check the file on the Acrobat.com site and click Send
use Create Anonymous Link and click the Create Link button
copy the created download link and send it by email

How do I listen to iTunes music when not connected to the Internet?

I have an iPad that we use for traveling in rural areas where Internet is not available. I have purchased lots of music on ITunes but can't access the songs when traveling. How do I download those songs to my iPad so I can listen to them when I can't access the cloud?

Do you have iTunes Match? If not, then any music you sync to your device is available to play at any time. No connection of any sort is needed - just battery power.
Can you provide a little more information as to whether or not your have Match, and what you are seeing in your Music app?

Why can't I select (multiple) Airplay (audio) devices as I can on IOS?

I have an older Macbook Pro (mid 2009) so I can't use Airplay Mirroring, but audio streaming is available. As far as I can see I have to select the audio output from within the system preferences and can only select one device. Why not implement this like in iTunes / IOS? That means that there's a button avaible in the menubar to quickly select the audio output channel / channels. Also with the option available to send the audio output of a specific application to the Airplay speakers as is possible with Airfoil. Looks likes it's stil interesting to buy this add-on ...

The sound options you are referring to in System Preferences are for devices hard connected to the machine, not using WiFi. If you would like it added tell Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Managing Multiple Email Accounts - How can I keep separate?

Hi- I set up my account for work and had no problem with that. Then today, I set up an additional account for my personal email (hotmail) which is where I'm running into problems.
The Messages icon now has messages mixed from both my work and personal email address. I would like to keep these separated. Also, the Email Setting icon (globe with envelope) used to have just my work emails on there. Now it just shows only my personal emails on there and would prefer it to be my work email. At the top of my screen under the time, it has my personal email address. I keep thinking there should be a way to switch over to my work email.
I've been playing around with the Email Setting icon and haven't had much luck. I've also tried to find the answer in the online user guide and can't find it either. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Home Sharing require a shared email address, or can we keep separate accounts?

If my wife and I want to use Home Sharing, do we both need to set up our iTunes with the same email address, or can we each keep our own iTunes accounts for our phones and computer, but share our purchases between the 2 accounts when connected to our wifi network at home? I'm not really clear on how the whole Home Sharing this works.

It has to be an Apple ID, ideally it should be one of the accounts you use for iTunes since authorisation is required and not doing would use up an authorisation unnecessarily.

In iTunes 12, how do you add an existing playlist to a device without using sync or manually dragging the playlist to the device?

Is this a deeply-buried function, or does it not exist as an option in the latest version of iTunes? Or am I missing something obvious and easy?

How can I listen to the local radio on my ipod when not on wifi?

I used to have an ipod nano and was able to listen to local stations on the radio without being connected to wifi and now I have an ipod touch and no longer have that option. Is there anyway that I can listen to the local radio stations on my ipod touch without being connected to wifi. I know there is an adapter that I can get to plug into my car to listen to the radio on my ipod but I have a radio in my car so that defeats the purpose.
If anyone knows a solution please let me know.

Charge it when you see the Low Battery Alert. It is not recommended to Fully Discharge the battery.
Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
