i get an error message saying connection time out while trying to download the new iOS6.1.2 for Ipod touch. I tried also thru itunes and get the same message.
The current version is 5.1.1

ITunes Syncing Errors under iOS6 on iPhone 4

when I have my iPhone4 (with iOS6 installed) sync with iTunes for updated apps, I always get errors from iTunes telling me some apps are not synced and they will be a such state that tapping them won't open because they are in updating-mode if you know what i mean. I have to sync my iphone once more for iTunes to complete the syncing of those apps. It never happened before when my iPhone 4 was still in iOS5, and only happened after I updated to iOS6. I wonder if anyone is experiencing the same problem as I or not. Am I alone in this problem?

I have a similar problem after installing iOS6 on my iPhone 4S. I need to type the same message twice. The first time it will tell me either my password is wrong and when I type it again and again, I can finally get in. Same thing happens when I'm trying to do something with my iPhone (other than typing my password) and I need to do it twice. You are not alone.

I saw a lot of people through the forum that experienced the exact issue I have and I spent 4 hours trying to resolve it myself with frantic research.
What helped me get my iPhone back:
This morning I received the message to upgrade my iphone 4 to the ios6 upgrade through my home internet. I accepted.
After the download went through my phone directed me to connect to itunes. I complied.
After connecting to itunes it informed me that my phone was in recovery mode and that I must restore my iphone.
Yet again, I complied.
After hitting restore and it going through the restore process, it instructed me of an error and could not complete restore. My computer refused to recognise my phone at all and said that I needed to enter my passcode.
My phone then continued to tell me to connect to itunes before it then went a step further and began restarting and just had the apple logo and/or loading circle for about 4 hours. No matter how long I held the home and power button on it just kept doing the same thing and to be honest, I was about to throw my phone out the window.
I researched different tips on here and other forums for hours and pressing all the reset buttons.
I downloaded itunes on a different computer and followed this tip

This is the proper procedure as per HT1808, Unable to update or restore
Plug the sync cable into your computer, but leave it disconnected from your iPhone
Hole the sleep/wake and home buttons down until the phone powers off completely
Set the phone down on a flat surface and hold the home button down
While holding the home button down, connect the sync cable to your iPhone
Continue holding the home button until you see the Sync to iTunes screen (iTunes logo & USB connector)
If you have iTunes running, you should see the alert box stating the iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode
After many tries my phone then told me to connect to power as the battery was dead. After resetting it also had the same apple logo and loading screen.
Finally, itunes recognised my phone and went back into recovery mode. I restored my iphone with my fingers crossed. It downloaded the new iphone software update as well and before the restore was finished my phone reset once again and displayed an error message. I was infuriated and thought nothing would solve it.
Once again, I repeated the procedure until recovery mode was deteced and restored my iphone again.
This time it proceded a little further than before and successfully restored completely to factory settings and my phone finally switched on like it was a brand new phone.
I then set up my phone and connected it to my laptop and backed it up from there.
It was A LOT of fiddling around and just luck of repeating the same process over and over but this is what solved the issue that seems to be very common at the moment.
Any questions you're welcome to ask. I reassure you, I tried EVERY hold down button reset procedure and every time it failed and my computer absolutely was not registering my phone.

Also there is a mention "timed out" and "check the internet connection/network".
I have tried the following but still no results:
- I have checked the host & lmhost and amended the files in the drivers folder to make sure that it wasn't blocking apple ports
- Disabled the firewall
- Updated to the last version of iTune
- Removed Tiny Umbrella, redSnow...
- logged out and in to my AppleID
Aaaarrggh..... can't figure out where is the problem...

Guys, since no one was replying I had to deal with it the best I could... Finally found the solution!
If anyone got an error 3259 make sure the following is in place:
- make sure the host file doesn't have the apple ports blocked
- remove all jail brake applications, such as red snow, tiny umbrella...
- logout and log back in to your AppleID
- update iTunes to the last version
- disable antivirus and firewall
- last but not least, the proxy settings can also block the access to the iOS 6 server, so make sure that you don't forget about it!
After that you should be able to update your toy with iOS6...

An error installing ios6

I have downloaded ios6 for iPad an it is impossible to install it. The message simply says an error occured installing ios6. There is no error number stated, nothing.
Any suggestions?

The download went through without issue and I was prompted to restart my phone. After restarting, I ran into the issue that you are seeing.
Anyone else seeing this? I'm going to try installing via iTunes tonight.

HT5429 Errors with IOS6

I have upgrated my 4S from IOS5 To IOS6, And I am very unhappy with this new software.
everything has slowed down, my safari doesn't work most of the time! my other apps such as Instagram & FB has slowed down to a level that I don't want to use them anymore!
haha and the best part is that my Map could not find any directions for me, it doesn't even find me the direction from my house to the next street! everyTime I get this Error : (directions not available, directions could not be found between these locations.) which is so stupid!!! coz it used to work just fine with IOS5.

Sadly Apple has shipped this without real testing.
We are many who do not understand Apple anymore, With the IOS 6 many things feels like it has been downgraded.
Businesses loosing jobs as there business has used an integrated Map/contact/calendar feature over many devices for day to day productivity.
(And to the fan boys , who will now jump on this. Apple's CEO has said this him self, so if you can't help. Then stay silent on the subject )

Have you tried updating to iOS 6 using the latest version of iTunes 10.7?

Download stops half way and says error downloading ios6?? have already restored phone.

everytime it stops and goes to error and takes me back to settings.

You are going to have to keep trying. Thats all there is. If not you are going to have to drive to apple and get a new one. Yours should have a warrenty.

HT5642 After installing iOS6.1 my volume buttons dont work as they should how do i fix this!?

As per description - the phone works but the volume buttons do not show the sliding scale of volume and if you try and play music or watch a film etc you cant get sound. If you plug headphones in it works as normal.

"Cleaning" your phone isn't the solution, it doesn't work, and I don't konw why people keep suggesting this "fix". This is a software issue affecting a small portion of 4s users, and to date no fix. My phone is always clean, it's always updated, and whatever other simple fix you can think of, I've done, still volume issues. A dirty port wouldn't cause the volume slider to disappear. If somone comes up with something that is actually a fix, and not old school Nintendo "blow in it" type advice, I would love to hear it.

IOS 6, HDCP, AirPlay via iPad or iPhone or MacBook Air = not working

I upgraded to iOS6 and Mountain Lion 10.8.2 this week. Now I'm having all kinds of problems with streaming content from my devices via my ATV2.
I keep getting an error that the content or device is not HDCP compliant (or words to that effect) so I cannot stream content. I found one solution that says to change your iTunes Store setting for Resolution to "standard" instead of 720p on the ATV. I tried that and it half works. The problem is I have to leave the TV turned on or else the stream stops.
I used to be able to stream to the ATV (which is connected to my home theatre system) so I could listen to music and such without turning on the TV. None of this compliance stuff ever came up.
I also you can try swapping the HDMI cable from how it's plugged in now to the opposite (i.e., switch the plug going into the TV to be the one going into the ATV, and the one going into the ATV to be the one going into the TV). Does this work?
Is this an error in iOS6 or Mountain Lion? Would appreciate any suggestions for a fix if any one has found one yet.

Same issue here, since I updated my Ipad 1 with IOS 4.3.1... I opened another thread about this issue, but no solution found so far...
Hope someone in Apple will take some time to investigate that...

Longtime Podcaster Stuck In Byte-Range Purgatory

Hey guys,
I'm trying to do something that seems impossible on my end - get audio podcasts to download on iOS in the default podcast app.
So far I've transcoded 800+ episodes to .m4a, checked for byte range, edited .htaccess, removed redirects and most recently tested on iOS 6 and 7 on Verizon, AT&T and over wifi.
Verizon (iOS7): downloads like a champ - instant playback
AT&T (iOS6 & 7) iPad and iPhone: Error
Wifi (iOS6 & 7) iPad and iPhone: Error

Actions taken to remedy:
Transcode all .mp3 to .m4a and only send .m4a enclsosure to iOS devices

yes, mp3 do not work.
about the feeds, they're dynamic php and respond according to the device making the request and for iOS devices the flavor the enclosure is .m4a

i did run the curl test on the .m4a and from what i read it is byte-range enabled. i am basing this in the same output that i saw in successful repairs by others. am i missing something?

Iphone 4 randomly came up with a grey screen showing 'ios6' and then said 'connect to iTunes'. However iTunes won't pick the device up and states there is an error with the device?

My iPhone was working fine yesterday and then showed a grey screen with the message 'ios6'. When I tried to use the phone it came up with the error message 'connect to iTunes'. When I got home from work I did this, at first iTunes could not detect the device and then it suggested a system restore. Once the restore had completed I selected the language, country/region and then came back to the same error message 'connect to iTunes'. When I tried to connect the device iTunes could not detect it and stated that there was a problem with the device.
I have telephoned my network provider to request a replacement device on my insurance but they have said they cannot authorise until I have had the fault diagnosed my Apple. Only problem is there are no genius appointments free until Friday!

I attempted to update my iphone 4 from the settings on my phone to the iOS6 operating system. After doing this and the download appeared to be complete, my screen showed the itunes hook up. Sorry to hear your Adobe experience has been less than stellar. I'll try to help...
1. Photoshop 14.2.1 is now two releases out of date. You might want to go to your Creative Cloud application and ask it to install Photoshop CC (2014). Earlier this year Adobe released 2014.0 as a separate install that can live side by side with 14.2.1. Then just a few days ago they released 2014.1 as an in-place upgrade to 2014.0.
