My ipod touch 5th generation went into recovery mode when I tried to update ios. When I try to recover it just keeps looping back to recovery mode. I tried to hold the power button for 3 secs. then simultaneously hold the home button for 10 secs. then hold only power button for 20 secs. I tried this several times to no avail. This is my daughter's ipod. I am computer illiterate and I'm not sure what else to try.

Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

I am trying to put music on my friends iPod, however the iTunes is not recognizing the device black screen. When i first plugged the iPod into iTines it was there I restore it when that was done the iPod went blank. after about two hours of trying to figuire out what was wrong. I rebooted it came back on. My iPod touch 5th gen does not respond properly when charging?

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

Some other users have reported same problem. I have not heard of a resolution. You can try:
- Using another cable
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

My (up to date) iPod touch 5th gen is not showing up in (up to date) iTunes on my Windows 8.1 laptop.

I have recently bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes to it right away. I have not been able to connect my iPod touch 5th gen to iTunes at all since then. I have updated both the iPod and iTunes completely and both are up to date. I tried different iPods of the same generation and they haven't connected either. I have tried using different cables and all my usb ports. I tried resetting my iPod and re-installing iTunes to my computer. My iPod is showing up in my computer but not under devices in iTunes. Can anyone help?

So I have a ipod touch 5th gen and it suddenly turned off and will not turn on.
Okay, I just want to say first I know the answer would be to hold the top button and the home button at the same time until it turns on.
The thing is, my centre home button stopped workings months ago so I was using the assistive touch.
What happened:
I was using my ipod and the battery was almost full. When I tried to use it 10 minutes later it was turned off and I can't turn it on. I tried plugging it on my computer and it will not recognize it.I also tried holding only the power button on top for a while but nothing happened.
Any ideas?

I have a brand new IPod Touch 5th Gen and I Tunes will not let me restore. Am in an endless state of Recovery Mode. I have the latest version of ITunes installed and the IPod Touch worked perfectly for two weeks after I got it. Now when I try turning it on, all I see is a black screen and USB cord leading to the ITunes symbol. I checked in Diagnostics and it says no IPod is detected, yet my IPod shows below Devices in ITunes. I have tried 20 or so suggestions to fix the problem and nothing works, including holding down Sleep button (turn on) and Home button for many minutes. Is there any way I can get ITunes to recognize my new IPod in the proper way? Restoring process in ITunes just does not work. Thank you. I believe this Touch has the iOS 6.0.1.

Ipod touch 5th gen will not play songs correctly

So I got a new ipod touch 5th gen for christmas. When I put songs into a playlist and play them they dont always play in the correct order, or sometimes they dont play at all. I had no problems with it the first week I had it but then all of a sudden it didnt play the music correctly. It will skip one song and then play another song a second time in place of it.   Then sometimes it will randomly skip the last bit of a song and go to a different one but when I go in and look at the songs being played it says its still playing the song that it decided to skip. It also will play the songs in a different order than what I put them in along with the previous problems listed ocurring. Please let me know if theres anything I can do to fix this or if I should send it in to apple or maybe even take it back and exchange it for a different one. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!!!

Hi Everyone! I badly need your help! I have an Ipod touch 5th gen that was bought 5 months ago and I encountered a hardware malfunction (ipod have black scren and not charging at all) so I brought it to the genius bar and had it repaired after two months cause it was sent to singapore it was going smoothly until yesterday when I left it to 20% battery remaining, the next morning when I plugged it in to a USB cable to charge it, it wasn't charging at all it only shows black screen and nothing I've tried plugging it to another computer and tried to use a different cable (My Aunt's) but not working so I tried plugging my Aunt's phone to my cable but its working/ My itouch is not opening even if I did the hard reset many times and even thought I connected it to itunes. itunes doesnt recognize it.. I recently updated my iPod touch 5th Gen to iOS 8.2. I use it to play music in my 2013 GMC via USB connection. Now, when my vehicle's system "detects" my device, it starts playing the song and after about two seconds it just quits. Help, please.

Ipod touch 3rd gen. is not recognized

My ipod touch 3rd generation is not recognized on my computer or on the itunes website. I have tried everything listed on this websie and still nothing. The usb cable I am using I got from ebay because I bought the ipod at Unclaimed Baggage store and did not come with usb cable. Does anyone have any idea what to do, the only other thing that I can think to do is purchase new usb cable from apple.com because ipod is working great; just won't sync to computer.
