I have a Canon 60D and I am unable to view or transfer photos to the Ipad using the SD Card reader. I have been able to view images with a Canon T3i. Are there certain settings I need to set on the 60d or should it work automatically? anythoughts or ideas? thanks
Are the photo's you're trying to view/download in Raw? I've had difficulty downloading Raw files, but have had no issues downloading JPEG files. Also, check a setting in your Canon, called communication. From what I've read (I'm a Nikon D5100 guy myself), communication needs to be set to PTP, not normal. I'm not sure how that will help if the pictures are already encoded?
Well scratch what I've written. I just googled the 60D and supposedly, JPEG and Raw are supposed to transfer through the SD card reader easily. So, I'm clueless. Sorry.......

Can you take photos on digital camera and see them appear on the ipad - i have a canon 400d and the new ipad.......
The camera connection kit accepts only SD camera memory cards.
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Running 10.6.8 on Intel dual core iMac, it keeps on losing internet connection. Webpages get stuck after a minute or so. If I check the internet connection via diagnostics it seems to work just fine. Others, like the iPad use the same wifi connection and never fail. What can I do?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Syncing my iPad with my iPhone via wifi
It depends on what you mean by "sync the iPad with the iPhone". Technically, you can't sync the devices like you would sync with a computer anyway, so you can't think that way. You can keep the two devices in sync, but if you want two devices with identical content on them, you have to restore one device from the backup of the other device for starters.
After that, you would have to download the same apps on the one device that you have on the other device, download all of the same songs, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and so on. The you would have have iCloud enabled on both devices in order to keep app data in sync, if the apps work with iCloud. So enable iCloud on bit devices and go to Settings>iCloud and turn on all of the items in there...mail, notes, reminders, Safari, calendar, photo stream, contacts, documents and data, etc.
You would also have to turn on automatic downloads in Settings> iTunes & App Store>Automatic Downloads> on for songs, apps and books so that whatever you download on one device downloads to the other device.
If you have any apps that do not work with iCloud for the purposes of syncing app data, it will be impossible to keep the two devices identical total in content. -
I have the iphone 5S and it doesn't seem to even connect to my macbook because when i connect it to my phone, a message on my laptop shows that I have to install he new version of itunes on my phone. How on earth do I do that??? I Already have the latest version of itunes installed on my laptop already.
It should be telling you to download the latest iTunes on your computer... you can't install iTunes on your iPhone.

Has anyone experienced problems with downloading Nikon D800 files to the iPad3 using the camer connector kit? I have tried .RAW and JPEG (of various sizes) on both SD and CF cards, but the iPad doesn't recognise the files.
I have seen various forums discussing Lightroom and PSE updates that are required to process .NEF files but I can't find anything on the iPad/camera connector issue.
I dont have any problem if I put the SD card straight into the SD slot in my iMac and Aperture will process the files fine, but I would really like to be able to download and view files on the move on the iPad.
Any advice appreciated?
PS - saw something that suggested the iPad had a maximum file size of 16mb for photos, not sure if this is correct, but I have tried smaller JPEG files and they still aren't recognised.If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content.
If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.
Note: Some cameras may refer to PTP as Pictbridge or PTP/Pictbridge. -

o0kay i lost my ipad 2 and i really want it back or atleast i want all my data erased. i have bank statements and my email,. so in other words anyone that gets a hold of my ipad can logg into my account and get all my informaion and money ... i have my serial number so i was thinking .
since you need to log into itunes in order for someone to import or add songs or apps into the ipad wouldnt it be easy for the apple people to tell me whenever its used or atleast where its been used or plugged into ...These links may be helpful.

How to add a mute button without using the default skin?
I want to use a mute/unmute button for my current project which does not use the default skin. I searched the web and found the following solution.

I followed the instruction and it works fine on single slide. The problem is that it does not carry through the whole project. If I mute the first slide, the audio is on again on the next slide. My mute/unmute setting doesn't go to the next slide.
Any one have a solution to this problem? Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.Hi there

Addtionally, your post reads as if you feel the mute button is only avaliable with the Default playback control set. Note that there are all sorts of options with the supplied playback controls that offer enabling a mute button.

Does anyone know if there's a way to track an ipad that has been stolen other than the methods already commonly used. For example is it possible to somehow use the ipads serial number in order to see any payments made on that specific device or for the device?
Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

View > Show Sidebar this puts the left panel back and you can see your Library, Device and Playlists
View > Show Status Bar this outs the grey bar back at he bottom with song info displayed
Click on the black Arrow in Search and Untick Search Entire Library. Search now works as it did before
Syncing Apps is the same as before
Select your device and select the Apps Page
There is a different button by the side of each app with Installed or Removed on it.
Click on these and they will change to Will Install or Will Remove. Click apply at the bottom -
Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.
