HT5654 Tried to restore my ipod to factory setting and now it erased everything and says their is an error (1) and the apple logo is stuck on the ipod. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!! Would have never done this if I knew this was going to happen! itunes is upda
Tried to restore my ipod I just wanted to back to factory setting and delete everything on it. I did it and NOW everything is erased, gone, and stuck on the apple logo. Populated that it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Clicked on restored and error (1) came up. So now I have a useless iPod that I purchased. Big apple user minus my laptop. 2 iPod, 2 iShuffles, iPad, 4 iPhones, iMac 27 inch. If this isn't rectified I will never buy and continue to push my consumers, family, and friends on my bad experience with apple. iTunes is up to date and now I am concerned that if do anything to my phone this same problem will happen.

Hello, Marc.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Error 1 or -1 can be very tricky to resolve and sometimes leads to a device needing service. That being said, here are the steps I would go through first for this specific error.
Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.

I tried updating my iPod touch to the newest update. But my iPod was unable to complete the update. Now my iPod doesn't turn on completely. The apple logo appears but then the screen goes blank. I've tried charging it, letting it discharge, I've tried things I found on the internet but nothing seems to be working. What can I do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

My MacBook Pro fell and now when I turn it on its stuck at the apple logo screen with a loading circle underneath it. What can I do to get passed this?
Sounds like something internal was damaged in the fall, probably the disk drive. Take to Apple and ask them to fix it.

i have tried the whole menu an lock button trick but it still wont turn on past the apple logo.
Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

Hi
I was trying to get my Mac Air to factory defaults but ended with the computererased and can not install the OSX because i can not remember the Apple ID that i used.
What can i do? Buy a new OSX? is it possible to get the old Apple ID giving the Serial number of my computer?
Thanks
BrigitteOn your original post you indicate Snow Leopard (10.6) as the OSX. 2011 MBAs came with Lion installed.
You will need a reliable Internet connection. Try booting OPTION-COMMAND-R which will connect you to the Apple servers (the display will show a spinning globe, follow the instructions). This should allow downloading the original OSX (Lion) to to MBA.
