How do I disable having to enter my password when unlocking my iPhone 5?

"Make change" would apply if I wanted to change my password but still leave it enabled which I didn't, I wanted to disable the password.  Thanks for the effort though.

  • How Often Do You Have To Enter Your Password When Redeeming Multiple Songs?

I pick up Starbucks "Pick of the Week" cards now and then, and I don't always get around to redeeming them until I have 3 or 4 cards. In the past, I've been able to enter a code, enter my password, and then just enter more codes until that iTunes Store session has ended. For the last several months, I've noticed (in both version 9 and 10) that I have to enter my password every time I enter a code.
Is this really "normal behavior?" If so, when did it start? I know I have entered as many as five codes with only the first requiring me to enter my password...

If you didn't charge the battery fully before testing, of course it won't last as long as expected!
If you're really worried about the battery life you need to do a test. Play several 28 kbit/s CBR MP3s, from a FULLY charged battery. The battery should last at least 24 hours. It's vital that you use the files specified, and the battery is fully charged, otherwise the test won't be accurate. Make sure to leave the player charging 30 minutes or so AFTER it appears to be fulled charged as it will trickle charge the final 0% of the battery.
If it does last 24 hours then it's down to the way the player is being used, and there is no problem with the battery.

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it.  You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.

You don't, this is a security measure which can't be changed, however, if you purchase another App within 15 minutes your password should not be required.

Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • How can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air?

how can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air? i dont know my imessages to pop up on my laptop when it turns on. But i dont want to disable imessage totally on my macbook.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, check that Messages is closed when you turn off your MacBook. This is so important because, by default, OS X will reopen all opened apps the next time you start your Mac.
Apart from that, when you go to  > Shut Down, or  > Restart, in the window you see to restart or turn off your MacBook, unmark "Reopen windows when logging back in". This will avoid that your Mac opens all opened apps the next time you start the MacBook, so Messages won't start automatically at startup

  • How can I disable e-mail and text messages when I'm close to or over my data quota ?

How can I disable e-mail and text messages when I'm close to or over my data quota ?
Is this possible? I don't see any options?
    All I see is this:
Receive confirmations of many account transactions via Email and/or free Text Alerts delivered right to your cell phone. You can receive these confirmations for
transactions done online, over the phone or from your handset. Account management Text Alerts do not count against any Messaging allowances.
Your bill is ready for review.
Payment Confirmations: Your payment has been  received    Your credit/adjustment     has been applied.1
Account Activity Confirmations     Plan changes     Feature changes1

    What phone?
You would need to disable data on the phone itself.  You wouldn't do it online on your account.
Note also that text messages do not count toward your data allowance.

Thank you so much for the quick response to my question.  I tested your directions and it works!!  Thank you.  I would never have figured that out.  I knew I had to go into System Preferences but would not have guessed that I needed to have Automatic Login set to off.

  • Disable the "enter a password to unlock the disk" prompt

is there a way to disable the "enter a password to unlock the disk" prompt? My macbook has 2 logical drives, one of them is encrypted, and everytime I start the Mac os x it pops up with that prompt.
    Any help is appreciated!

You would have to create the file /etc/fstab with an entry to prevent the volume from mounting automatically. That's advanced system hacking that I don't recommend, but if you want to do it, see the fstab(5) man page for instructions (you must be shell-literate to do this.) Otherwise you're going to be prompted.

  • Is there a way to access my voicemail without having to enter my password every time?

Is there a way to access my voicemail without having to enter my password every time?  Or is the only way to check emails is to click on the voicemail icon and enter password?

For that, you would probably have to create a contact and place it on your homescreen. I don't know if there are any settings where you can have the voicemail icon automatically call, although there may be. You can name the contact you place on your homescreen "call voicemail" or "voicemail", though.
Edit: keep in mind by setting up your voicemail number like I had previously described, anyone with access to your phone will now have access to your voicemails. If you are like me, though, that won't bother you.
