HT5661 I restored my phone now its asking for the original apple id that was used to set up phone. myself and the previous owner want to nknow is there a was to get it or can apple delete it.
Can not find original apple id to restore my iphone 4s help.
If you know the apple id login it's possible for you to be able to reset the password to this apple id by going to:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
This will give you the opportunity to reset your password that is once again if you know the name of the apple id.
There will be significant identify verification required.

If you're able to contact the person who set the lock, send them this link and tell them to follow its instructions.

I hope you bought this from a store, you can return it and get your money back. BUT if you bought from a person off the street or off the net, someone you don't know... I'm thinking you just got screwed! And are out the money and have an expensive paper weight. I hope I'm wrong, but I think you have a stolen iPod. If you can find the person that sold it to you return it and get your money back, but I'm thinking they are long gone. If you can not find the person report it to the police and turn it over. - How did you dlete stuff from the iPod? If you have a 1G or 2G iPod and deleted the stuff by going to Settings>Genera.>Reset>Erase aall contents and settings without being connected to a power source, the battery dies before he erase was comleted since it can take hour.
- In any event try the following:
- Connect to a chaging sour for three hours.
- Reset the iPod and then connect to the computer and try to restore va iTunes.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try placing the iPod in recovery moe and then try to restore. For recovery mode:

I bought a iphone 4 a few months ago, used from a store .. i had to currently restore and update my phone today due to it saying connect to itunes it wouldnt do anything else so i did other wise, now my phone turns on but wont go past the apple id and the orginal owner still had there apple account in the phone and its asking for that account to actiavte the phone again and not mine , im stuck and dont no what to do i just want my phone to turn on again

thanks !!!You have encounter Activation Lock, the antitheft feature of the iPhone. The previous owner did not remove the phone from their account. The phone cannot be used until they do. Return to the store and let them sort this out. It is very unusual for someone to "forget" to disable activation lock, as it is necessary to do so to erase personal information on the phone. So it is quite likely you bought a stolen phone.

I just bought an IPod Gen 5 off craigslist. Im trying to erase and reset it, but it wont let me. It wants the previous owners password. Also, I cant log out of their Icloud, and log in under mine.

Need help Changing the previous owners settings for the app store. I can't buy any apps. Because it asks for previous owners information.
I had this same problem, and it was erased.
For some really odd reason iPads sometimes retain the last user iTunes account on first visit to the iTunes store.
I am thinking it is actually the iTunes store recognising the iPad, and so 'helping' by showing the last log in settings.
So I would also recommend Erase All Content and Settings to start.
If that was done then what you need to do is log in, or create your own itunes account.
This is in Settings, Store.
create your own iTunes account (or log in with an old one).
Purchase something.
Then (as long as you don't have any app from the last owner on) it should never ask for the old account again. -

You are running into the Activation Lock

- Get the Apple ID and passsword and enter it
- Get the previous ownder to remove the iPod from their account

- Keep th iPod and now yo have an expensive thin brick and have learned a lesson. It could be that the iPod was stolen or lost. Apple will not help. -

If you do not remember your old id's password, go to iforgot.apple.com and see if you can remember or reinstate it. Without it you cannot reactivate your iPhone.
