HT5661 I would like to erase my iPhone from my iCloud accout, but my iPhone cannot be found. iCloud is searching for a long time, what did I do wrong?
I sold my iPhone last week, however I forgot to delete it from iCloud. I restored my phone before shipping it. Now I'm trying to delete it from iCloud, but it cannot be found.

You don't need to find, just remove it. That feature usually shows up next to phone's name like a little crosshair, if you hover with your mouse cursor. Sometimes phone needs to be turned off for that, but it sounds like it is already wiped and should work.

A client gave me he's mini Ipad wifi as a gift.

I would like to erase everithing and make it totaly mine but don't want to loose my photos and his music which is very good. As the previous poster said, the apps and music will be tied to the previous owners Apple ID, you'll need the password to update the apps and remain authorized to play the music.
I would suggest taking your stuff off (the camera pictures) then erasing all content and settings so the iPad is like new. For privacy reasons alone I would erase the device. I realise you want to keep the music, but since you haven't paid for it (it was purchased under someone elses ID) then it isn't yours to keep, you'll need to write down the tracks and purchase them under your ID. -
My Iphone 4 wont turn on, but if i have it plugged in the wall for in long time it turns on by itself and gets stuck at the apple logo.

I would like to deauthorize old computers from my iTunes account, but not my current Mac -
I noticed in my iTunes account I have 4 computers authorized. This list must include old computers which I no longer use (we currently only have one computer using my iTunes account). The only option is to "deauthorize all", which makes me nervous as it implies it will also deauthorize my current computer, which I obviously don't want to do. I would like to "clean it up", and remove old computers no longer assoicated with my iTunes, but am a little paranoid about doing it.
Just looking for some advice, before I start clicking buttons I don't know much about, lol!You need to use the Deauthorize All function; if this deauthorizes your current computer, you can authorize it immediately afterwards.

My iPad was stolen. It is password protected and I locked it. So far no one has tried to turn it on. I would like to erase the content but am afraid that the "Find it' software would be diabled too. Can someone tell me if this is what happens?
If content is erased, then the ipad will no longer have the Find My iPhone service turned on, hence can't be tracked. But the thief will not be able to view your data/apps. But thieves these days know about the service and can reset the device so that it is no longer tracked, although all data is erased anyway. They don't care about getting at your data, only about keeping the device to sell or use it as their own.

I have an Ipad2, an Iphone 4 . I want to be able to sync both of these with my Windows desktop and Outlook 2007. I would like to sync to and from the Idevices and Outlook. When I attempt to sync in itunes I get a popup message asking if I want to delete, Merge or cancel. Not wanting to delete of cancel the only option left is Merge.
When selecting Merge all of the entries in outlook are added to the idevice. The next time I merge all of the same entries plus any new ones are added, resulting in older entries being repeated i.e an entry like “John’s Birthday” will appear 5 or 6 times on the same date.
How do I resolve this issue? How do I get the the sync process to add only new entries?This is a great question. First, facetime will not work because it has to establish a Call connection first. iMessage should work, but how to get it going I am not sure. Two great Apps to try are, Viber and Skype. Viber is excellent, it works over WiFi, you can make free calls and free text messages all over the world with other users who have Viber installed. It does not even have to be open on screen to work. Viber does have to recieve one text message with activation code, to activate it, this will be your only hurdle, but maybe Verizon can help you get that one text message. Skype does have to be open on screen however, but this can function like Facetime with WiFi connection. Definitely get Viber free in App Store, and put it on all your iDevices so the old Verizon iPhone can function as a telephone when on WiFi.

I have an old iphone and have a new one as well. I would like to use my old on as an ipod but itunes not longer recognizes it. Any ideas? I have been using it for a month with no problems until tonight. I restarted my computer..still no fix.
Looks like its fixed. I am syncing it now. A lot of the answers are for the new iphone so i had to mess with a bunch of settings as well. My old phone is now an 8 gig ipod. the books app no longer works and that *****.....but better than nothing...

Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it. Contact that carrier and ask if they offer this service and if you qualify. -
