New member, so please excuse me if this subject has been covered in the many posts.
I have been using the BT HH1 for about 6 years and have a desk top using the ethernet cable. Connected my daughters IPad about 5 months ago. Also I have two ther laptops (Dell) that are connected. All working well until Christmas when one of the laptops could not connect to the HH1 ( but was able to identify it through a search) and neither could the Ipad. The other laptop (Dell) was ok. the Ipad,like the laptop, could identify the HH1 as a connection but not able to connect. Switched off the HH 1 at the mains and and then switch on again. All working ok whein I did this. As soon as all PC's and laptop were switched off and left overnight reconnection was not possible, althrough the ethernet was ok. Switched off (using the mains only) the HH1 and reconnected the HH1(using the mains) and all working again. Can't keep doing this !!!!!! Spoke with BT help desk who put me on a higher channel speed but the problem has not gone away. Spoke to Apple who said it was the router. Lots of comments about this problem with various versions of the BT HH, but no answers other than switch off and on. Anyone any ideas ?????????It sounds like a faulty home hub 1, as they do suffer from faulty power units and failing wireless.
The first thing to try is a factory reset, by pressing and holding in the "wireless association" button for about 20 seconds.
This will restart the home hub, and reload the default config file, which can get corrupted.
It also worth making sure that you set the wireless encryption to WPA, as the default on the home hub 1 is WEP, which is very easily hacked into by other users.
Also some wireless adapters do not work very well with WEP.

I'm on a windows laptop using iTunes sharing through the family to connect with Apple TV.
After choosing the folder of photos to be shared and displayed on the appletv and when I choose to show on screen, they are not shown in the order they are in the original folder.
How to pair show in a certain order, for example, sorted by name.

Julio CesarNot that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

Again without stating the trouble shooting steps you have taken, its hard to direct you with any information.
Try a different port on the computer.
Does the iphone beep when u plug it up. ?
Plug iphone into computer and give it 3 to 4 minutes to see if it connects and is running slow.,
Delete the apple mobile device from your computer.
Upgrade itunes to newest version.
Is you USB cord defective ?
Any USB 3.0 on your system ? .
Delete or Disable any antivirus program on your computer ?
I will tell u the problem is your computer not the phone.

No. It came with my iMac when I bought it 1.5 years ago, but I had also bought the regular wired keyboard for the number keys. I just bought a PC laptop and am trying to match the Apple wireless keyboard with it. (The small size is perfect for the space I have available.) I did change the batteries, but I did notice that the green light showing it is on only stays on for about 15 seconds. Another thing is that most of the time my PC doesn't see it. I have managed to sinc the laptop with the iMac, so at least it doesn't seem to be an anti-Apple issue.

IPhone 4 will not connect to Apple
No matter how hard I try, or how many times I try I cannot get my sister in law's iPhone 4s to update it's software to 5.1 Despite it being connected to a strong wireless signal that I managed to update mine from on my laptop, it downloads the update but then says '"........s iPhone cannot be updated at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable."
I have been trying to update my brother in law's iphone 4 from 4.3.2 to 5.0.1 also for over a month, when I go around and visit, was always the same message. I thought it may have been his phone.
I feel I am missing something fairly basic here. The phones download the updates in iTunes, they backup, iTunes extracts the software update, but it gives in when it's time to connect to Apple and verify the update. Doesn't matter how many times I try it.
Any ideas?

Internet shuts down when connecting to apple tv
The apple tv works fine, except with airplay mirroring.
First I click the apple tv icon on my laptop to start screen sharing with the Apple tv.
My screen changes its resolution so it will be optimized for the tv that the apple tv is connected to.
After about 10 seconds with nothing happening on the tv my computer switches back to the regular resolution and I get a message that I was unable to connect or I've been disconnected from the apple tv.
After which the router and signal strength of my wirelss is still full and unchanged but not a single device in the house can load a webpage or download anything unless I reset the router.
Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix this so mirroring will work?

ThanksHere it is December 2013 and I am having the same problem. I thought I was losing my mind, but my internet kept going off yesterday and today. Then I realized, DUH, that it was when I was trying to connect to Apple TV with my Macbook Air (latest version). I think it worked okay with my Macbook Pro. I've had this about three months.
Any updates or fixes would be welcome.

Ipod will not connect to any of my laptops with any of apples USB cords
for some reason earlier today i smelt a little burning smell coming from the bottom of my ipod...then it wouldnt connect to any chargers or laptops of mine..then i connected it to my bose sound system and voila itw orked..i thought hey it was nothin...well i went to go sync..and now none of my computers iwll reecognize it and none of my chargers will either..only my bose recognizes it and cahrges it..ive tried diagnostic and recovery mode but didnt relaly get far with it..
please help me...i realy dont wnat to pay 100 dollars to send it in to apple

HEY GUYS I AM USING AN IPHONE 3g and when i connect my device to my laptop a dialog box appears saying that an update of 4.2 is available so went for it.after the firmware is downloaded via itunes it shows that the firmware is invalid!.please help.

PLEASE HELP ME.This means that the phone you have was software unlocked to use on any carrier, or hacked. When you installed the update it restored the lock that originaly came with your phone. Not much you can do now. Apple will not support hacked phones. You will need to find out the carrier your phone is locked to and see if they offer official unlocking, or start googling to see if you can find a way to unlock 4.2.

Is there a way to connect the Apple TV as a second display without it automatically changing my Mac's audio output? I would prefer to use an audio interface for playback and the apple tv as a third display. I know I can go back to system preferences and swap my output back manually, but it is getting to be really inconvienient. Thoughts?

How can I connect to Apple TV wireless with Mac book pro. this laptop doesn't have Air play function. Is any app I can use or new update will help me? I searched in web and found that if I go to system prefrences and click on display I can active Air paly but don't see same page in disply of my version of macbook pro. my device is made late 2011 and it looks it is not an old version.

when i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs. Take in mind this is my first time to sync with this laptop(HP 15 ENVY) and as well my laptop is just brand new. just got it a week ago. so how do i fix this prob. and also when i open my itunes store and then view my account it says error occurred either debug it through Microsoft visual studio or close program. I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help
I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. Hi all.
I have an iMac (mid 2011) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and an apple TV that my little brother just gave me (I believe it's 3rd gen from serial #).
I can successfully mirror my iPhone 4S with AirPlay, and the Apple TV can see the iTunes lib from my iMac, but when I attempt to connect to the Apple TV from the icon in the tool bar it gives me the message "Could not connect to Apple TV."
Spent some time on the phone with a really super tech, he had me go through the paces with restarting the router, the apple TV, my iMac, checked all the network config etc - no dice.
I even reinstalled OS X.... still no dice.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
The second tech who called me back thought it might be hardware related. I brought this iMac in for a new hard drive less than a year ago after it randomly began throwing kernel panics and finally it just wouldn't boot. I don't do very much with my computer so it's kind of odd that it would have these issues unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the way it was put together. It doesn't take any abuse - not like my macbook!

Still getting the same message. Could it be some network setting I'm overlooking? I tried it while the apple TV was connected via ethernet as well - no dice.
