HT5706 I have not used my apple tv in a few years, and just got it out of the bag. I connected it up, and it cannot set date, time. it also does not interact with the remote. Could it be as simple as a new batter is needed for remote?

I have a iPod touch and i installed it on my other laptop until i had just got another one it says unable to connect to iTunes and i forgot my password and i delete the email and i don't know how i can get my i pod touch to work with my new one email.

I have tried VERY unsuccessfully to install the new iphoto 9.2.3 update.
I have installed it several times both from the appstore and from Apple Support downloads...it says it has 'successfully updated' - then on opening iphoto, a dialogue box pops up and says:
iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.

I am embarassed that I was an early adopter...SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER and read the problems before creating some for myself.
This was an excercise in frustration, because of the obtuse division between the appstore and Apple Support downloads... it was a bit of a circuitous route...strange that with all the security reciepts and tracking that Apple goes to to prevent piracy... which Steve by his own admission used to build Apple...
Why aren't the server scripts smart enough to say…”HEY DUMMY you can't use this download because you purchased the last iPhoto upgrade from the appstore...and… DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME and precious data BUDGET downloading this gargantuan file which will eat 20% of your expensive 5Gb monthly data allotment!!!…and NOT WORK…only pretend to…and then foul your system….kill your productivity and turn your hair whiter…even worse than LION did.
I am just so antagonized by the inept scripts in recent installations that don't do a diagnostic before allowing installation that is going to corrupt things...I had less effort and frustration when I ran my ATARI with a MAC emulator...rarely lost any productivity to nonsense.

I have a new email address and was successful in changing the information online but cannot change it on my iPhone 4S or iPad. When I try to fix the problem it requires me to create a new password and now I can't remember that either.
To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Just bought a new 4th gen iPod Shuffle for my kid. Problem is I cannot do the initial set up, as the device does not show up on iTunes on my PC. Also the charging does not light up. Any ideas on what could be wrong, as I am able to see both my iphone and iPad on iTunes using the same PC?
I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

Date time picker script does not look right when calender pops up

Just got iphone5 should i be able to connect to fb and oyher apps when im not at home with my wifi
I just got iphone 5 I can not get into face book or other aps when im not at home around my wifi is this right or should I be doing something different
If you don't have access to WiFi then the iPhone 5 also supports Cellular Data to access the Internet. Make sure that this is turned on In Settings > Cellular. Also make sure that Cellular Data is turned ON in Settings > Cellular for the Apps that you want to use, i.e., Facebook, etc.

I click on the icon and it flashes as if opening.... no browser window appears.... I check the task manager to see if it is open but not displayed... nothing in the task manager..
So I uninstalled it leaving my preferences, and reinstalled it but it does the same thing. This time when I went to uninstall it again wiping the preferences away (in case it is those that is causing the problem) the uninstall program said that I had to close firefox first... but it isn't showing up as open in the task manager....
Final though... the last few weeks I have had a page pop up to advertise a need to update this or that, a need to click on this or that... obviously some kind of bug/virus.... help me get firefox going again...
On Windows 7 platformBoot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br>

i have just installed i tunes and set everything up ready to sync my new nano for the first time but as soon as i conncted it, that was it it no longer worked. i was able to turn on the power and get the home screen but now it wont even turn on. it has also siad exactly the same thing on another pc so im pretty sure its the pod and not the laptop
in the device properties it is due to error 43 and i think it has 5.1 version of its software installed. any help would be great before i resort to sending it back

First time using "communities"! Will add some colour to the question. Within a year of buying this iMac, I moved to London and have only just returned, 10 years later. At my age, I am lucky to remember a password for a month! No way that I remember it from 10 years ago! I have the serial number (of course), but none of the original cd's with instructions, etc. How do I get a new password to permit me access to the computer? Thanks for the help!
Did you follow all the instructions in Step 3, in particular locating the old user?
If it's still not available maybe the following will locate it and the data.
Get free OmniDiskSweeper and run as root. (The link is to earlier versions; you will need to locate the one that's suitable for the OS version you are running. To see that, click on the > About this Mac.) Open Terminal in Utilities and copy/paste and hit return. Give your admin pword when requested, which won't appear as you type it in. You will also get a scary warning about using sudo; keep going. Hit return again. running as root will allow you to look into other users.
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Be very careful when running as root not to delete anything. root gives you elevated privileges and you can do some severe damage if you start removing things without knowing what you're doing. I take it you just want to look around to see where things are, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Btw, after all that time, I seriously doubt the PRAM battery is still good. That battery, also known as the clock battery, maintains power in the Paramater RAM, which stores some settings including the date and time. If the clock is off, or perhaps some other settings, this may lead to some issues and should be replaced when you can.
EDIT: I don't think you will be able to run OmniDisk after all. The earliest OS it can be installed to is Tiger 10.4, which you probably don't have. But who knows, give it a try anyway. -

need lightroom 4.4 asmac is 10.6.8 and not compatible with anything higher. Does this come with the creative cloud? Would really like a disc but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Currently have cs4 and d7100 hence need 4.4 to open raw Any ideas? Is this now customer service or does adobe have a customer service team . Site not user friendly. Thanks

No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.
• I don't suppose there is anything I can do to 'put back' lost items from a separate Time Machine drive which has an up to date backup on it.
There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.
On the other hand, if the Time Machine volume is rigidly linked to the now-absent OS on the original drive, there may be no way to effectively access the files in the TM archive.
I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive?
