HT5731 I just downloaded a star trek episode, "The Gamesters of Triskelion" but I am having trouble playing it on my computer...what do I need to do???
I just downloaded a TV episode from the iTunes Store, but so far am having trouble playing the full episode. (It only plays the :20 "preview")...what am I doing wrong???
How are you trying to play it ? The full episode should have downloaded into the TV Shows part of your iTunes library - is that where you are trying to play it from ?

Anytime I try to download/play a star trek episode it does not download and says the same thing everytime "PLAYBACK FAILED There was an error while playing back this video" Any suggestions? I have windows XP and live iN Los Angeles. Could there be a copywrite law here? Has William Shatner demanded more money?? Plus if I have several downloads going at the same time, and if the program I am NOT watching downloads first the file disappears and cant be found?? Where do the downloads go?? When you're editing DV, the DV stream is converted to analog for viewing externally by the camera/deck/box you're using connected to the FW port on your Mac... so the problem here isn't that FCP can't do it... (it never could and probably never will) . The problem is that the hardware to do this isn't in any HDV device... Bet it's not cheap either. HDV is an MPEG stream, and to decode that in real time converting it to analog would take a LOT of heavy lifting... expensive heavy lifting.
I'd suggest that you get a capture card that will do this... I'd look right at a Kona LH series card. Better yet, if you have an intel Mac, is an Io HD for the job. Capture as ProRes instead of HDV, and you'll find the whole system is faster, and graphics look a ton better.

In star trek into the darkness there is a scene where bomb blast crime scene is watched in a tab which is like 360* 3d surviellance video ,where they rotate and see the area with uI,
They used a technique which combines/stitched/fused/mosaiced multi view video /distributed camera video to get this sort of video representation.
I don't know what thechnique or name of this video representation .
What is the technique they used or name of this representation.

How can I OPEN files I just downloaded? They're on the DOWNLOADS screen of Firefox but I can't open them even after double-clicking? And they're not on the FOLDERS as well. Even the right-click is not working ... the "open containing folder" does not work.

I just downloaded Mountain Lion and everything is working great. But i keep getting an error in the app store and i can't download 'Pages' or any other apps. I keep getting an "error" and it says credit card processing is temporarily unavailable......help
Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Launch the App Store. See if that made a difference... -
I recently downloaded mountain lion and just had it emailed to me but I'm having trouble downloading it to my computer. I cannot find the button that says "redeem" under quick links.
You must have a minimum of OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed on your Mac to have the Mac App Store. The Quick Links are on the Featured pane.

The simplest way to exit out of DFU mode is to hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons on the iPhone while connected to iTunes. Then just hit the power button as and this should reboot the device as usual.

Hello Mac heads.! I just downloaded Onyx for tiger. All went well. But I try to launch onyx from my applications and it doesn't offer checking the S.M.A.R.T. status so I can check my disk. Everything else appears. Uninstall only, forums, website etc.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process. -

I've just downloaded Sophos (yesterday) and commenced the scan. It keeps stopping part way through, the 2nd time when it was about 98% completed after 4 hours!!!! I've had to start again. What could be causing this? I have Mountain Lion.

I'm not aware of any version of Firefox from Fx 2 on up to Fx 6 where "AVG Safe" is not a problem. Crashes aren't the only failures caused.
