I seem to be stuck with a film download.the life of pi does not complete it's download so is putting me over my allowance and costing me money. All I want to do is erase it from my I pad but cannot find how to remove it.

I am going to assume you are referring to an iMac running OS X because this is the iMac forum. There are three methods to remove apps.
1. Use the developers recommended method, i.e. contac the developer and request their adive.
2. Use a third party app such as AppCleaner (Google it).
3. Drag the app to the trash.

I am a subscriber to a web site that no longer allows me to connect. The message I receive is,"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address that will not complete." Why, and what can I do to fix it?

I am using a new computer with the latest version of FF on it. When the problem began, I was using an older computer that had a virus and malware on it. I have not yet cleaned the files from the old computer and consequently have not transferred any of them. I don't understand why I am having this same problem. Battery removed from ipod touch, will not complete recovery

the battery died a long time ago on my ipod touch 32gb, think it is 1st or 2nd gen, when i plug the ipod in it still lights up and works but asks me to plug it into itunes, when i do that itunes says i need to restore it but when i start the restore process the apple logo reappears on the ipod then it dies and i get an error message from itunes, usually unknown error 1604 or 1603, sometimes 1611. all i want to do is leave my ipod plugged into a dock to play music without the ipod having a battery will this work, surely there must be a way if it's still showing the screen when plugged in

hi thanks for your reply, i tried all of the things on this page already and still no luck, itunes goes into preparing ipod for recovery, the screen on the ipod switches from telling me to connect to itunes, to the apple logo for about 10-20 seconds then the screen on the touch dies and the update either fails or just sticks on preparing bar

Toshiba L755 is the only one that will not PXE BOOT

I have a few host on my network which it has VMWare 10 installed, successively performed deployment into those machines(Hosts and created VM"s). Now, I do have also a Toshiba L755-S5258 that will not complete the process, it does not give any
errors. The following is the messages it gives.

Are your using the WDS for the Windows deploy? A network boot program (NBP) is the first file that is downloaded and executed as part of the network boot process and it controls
the beginning of the boot experience (for example, whether or not the user must press F12 to initiate a network boot). NBPs are specific to both the architecture and firmware of the client. You must accounting the screen press F12 to allow the system boot
from the WDS. The VMware® workstation PXE booting issue please ask your software vendor.

I had been saving as a PDF and then reducing the size of the PDF by printing it as a PDF with a degree of image compression. I write manuals with a LOT of screen captures and line art that needs to be clear. So it is a balancing act between image clarity and PDF size. The PDFs on the web need to be smaller - sure you can undertsand.
Anyway, when I print the PDF again, I lose both my destinations and bookmarks.
Anyone know of any way to avoid that?

Control the images by creating a custom PDF Job Options and then selecting it in the PDF Job Options drop-down of the PDF setup dialog box (File > Save as PDF...)
Create the custom PDF Job Options file with Distiller. If you do not have Distiller, open the Printing Preferences of the Adobe PDF printer. Start with the Smallest File Size Job Options settings and Edit.

Finally there are two boxes to click. One says not now. If I click on that the box goes away for 2 to 3 seconds and then pops back up and WILL NOT go away. If I click on the second box, Install, it says The software is currently unavailable. To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Java Application again.
My confusion here is that I have no idea what the java application is, When I click "okay" on that box, the original box pops us again and WILL NOT go away. CGoing to the apple lega web site was no help. My solution so far has been to drag the dialogue box as far to the lower right and out of the way as far as I can. Help.

Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.

You need DVD Player. It should be in your Applications folder. If it is in there go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs and for "When you insert a video DVD" make sure DVD Player is selected.

Well, most of what we can tell you is already stated in the message you are getting. A phone can only sync with one library at a time. You have apparently synced your phone with a different iTunes library in the past, or changes have been made to this library so the phone no longer recognizes it as the library with which it was synced. To know which you will have to provide the information.
If you bought them using the AppleID you use with this phone it may simply be easier to re-download them directly to the phone rather than sync them, though you will want to resolve that issue at some point.

Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.
SO...
When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?
