HT5760 Why group messaging is so complicated in iOS?

Why group texting is so complicated on iPhone? It was embarrassing for me when I was not able to create a simple group message to send a message to some of my friends. Now my wife will taunt me why You think iPhone is better than Galaxy. After spending about an hour researching how to do it still I am not able to do it. Very embarrassing.

it doesn't work like that. You can't message a predefined group. You must add people one by one to your message.

I am not able to receive group messages after I updated to iOS 8.0.2 I just activated my iPhone 6 about 3 weeks ago (Before the Apple pay update). It was working fine until I updated the software with the Apple Pay. Initially I thought ALL the group messages are not working. After few trials I realized it was only the case when the group included both iPhone and non-iPhone users. Groups with ALL iPhone users is working fine.
I have checked everything possible, but nothing works.
- Turned off-on iMessages
- Turned off-on Group messages
- Reset Network Setting
- Erased and Reset the Entire phone from Phone settings (Now operating on iOS8.1)- still not working
- Called my carrier and they didn't seem to understand why I was having this problem
I then spoke with Apple Support who ran few diagnostic tests and they didn't find anything. They suggested that I re-set the phone to brand new phone (with out iCloud back-up) via iTunes (not from phone settings) and see if that will fix this. I will try this later tonight and see if I have any luck.
I tried telling customer service that I want to return my phone and get a new one- but they seemed to keep me away from that option.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any suggestions?

I am unable to have a group message since I updated to iOS 7

My group message doesn't seem to work since updating to the new iOS 7. Does anyone know how to fix this?
My friends also have the same problem!! :(

There are size restrictions in what you can send ... not sure why it worked before and not now for the same size though. What is the actual size of the file you're trying to send??? You can upload to YOUTUBE and share from there - and YOUTUBE accepts larger files.

Group messages over wi-fi in iOS 8

I have been in a group message chat with two other friends for over a year now, and it's always sent no problem over wi-fi. I just upgraded to iOS 8, but can only send my group texts now. Is this because they only have iOS 7 and older?

I'm having the same issue. 3 other people for the past couple of years, they haven't upgraded yet, I have and I can't send anything to them through my iPhone but my iPad can. I feel like Apple has stopped caring to beta test any of their software before it's released. They just release it, let everyone complain about it, and that's how they know what do fix. This is ridiculous.

Group Messaging wont turn off on iOS 5

I have group texting off, but ever since i've upgraded to iOS 5 when I send an mass text to a few people, it turns into group texting. How can I fix this since my friends can see each others responses and its very annoying?

No group message option in iMessage option in settings

For some reason I don't have a group messaging option under iMessage options, I'm using a 5s and running ios 7.1.1

The Group Message option is not an iMessage option, it is an MMS message option. It will disappear if you have MMS Messaging turned off. It is also possible that it could be related to your cellular carrier/plan. The following quotation is from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760

I'm in a group message with 12 people. All are iPhone users, except for the token Galaxy user. I can receive messages, but I cannot send them. How can I fix this?

The iPhone is a pretty mature platform. Why is group messaging so primitive? You cannot edit the members of a group (cut,copy, paste, delete) without creating a whole new message. I don't understand it.
They pretty much invented cut,copy, paste. This problem should have been fixed years ago.

I am not getting the "Leave Conversation" option on Group Messaging on some group messages.

why does my 4g and 3gs i phone get my messages,same household but not group message same apple itune account thou.

On each device check the following in the Settings app.
Settings > Messages > Send and Receive
Make sure the proper phone numbers and/or email address is selected on each. Deselect those that you don't want to use an a particular device.

Does anyone know why iOS 7 still doesn't have group messaging?

Yes, I know I can send a group message by entering the contacts one at a time. But it should be possible to just enter the name of a contact group and have it automatically send a text to everyone in that group. Every other mobile OS has this feature. Even my daughter's dumbphone does this. And when I look online for workarounds, I see LOTS of grumbling about the fact that this incredibly basic feature STILL isn't included in iOS7. Does anyone know WHY? It totally mystifies me why something so basic isn't an option.

IPhone 3GS group messaging: why don't I see that there are other recipients?

I have the iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.0.1. When a group iMessage is sent to me, it does not show me the other recipients. It only looks like the person sent it to me ONLY. The only reason I know it's a group iMessage is because it says "Happy Holidays everyone!" for example. I receive replies from everyone else the message was sent to (annoying! all these numbers replying to my phone), but it seems that they don't see my replies. I've asked a few friends if they've seen my replies to the group iMessage and they haven't, even though I received theirs. That is not necessarily a bad thing, since I could have embarrassed myself on multiple occasions. But can anyone explain why this happens? It is weird that someone could group message me without me even knowing, when I can't see who else is on the message. Please let me know if there is something I can do to ensure that I see other recipients in a group message, AND to stop getting everyone else's replies, if possible. Thanks!
